  1. I guess I assumed he was just from news reports over the years “highest paid employee” etc. Didn’t realize the state law prohibiting state funds from going to athletic depts, but makes sense. Thank you for that info I wasn’t upset by it, just referring to it as one of the myriad of reasons I think he needs to go (as in, salary isn’t matching expectations).
  2. Definitely in the process right now of doing that! I keep tabs on the area and yikes! (Some great restaurants there now; I'll look for the Foodie thread haha)
  3. Definitely enjoy the happy moments, and hope for a successful season. Great to see the smiles on the players' faces when they won those late games. I was very okay getting upset, lol, because it was such a missed opportunity for the players who have 4-5 years of eligilibity in total in college, and really deserve the best chance at success. Not to mention the $ used to pay the IU coach, as probably the highest paid state employee, the lack of professionalism towards the basketball program by certain IU paid staff & BoT members, etc. I am glad I sent a (very professional) letter to them. I haven't changed my mind on the coach or coaching situation, nor have I changed my mind on the overall trajectory of this program. If/when facts & circumstances dictate a change, I'll gladly do so. (Also grateful to HSN for the opportunity to vent & process.) However, I do understand what you are saying, and it is what it is, so hoping for a fun year for the players & fans, and simultaneously a passing of the baton sooner rather than later.
  4. I went to Mt. Vernon, graduated in mid-80's, high school had about 750 students. At that time, HSE had about 500 students total. The area has certainly grown!!
  5. 100%. If his degree goal is the NBA, then that's what he works towards for sure.
  6. I think your point of what it would mean to transfer is a good one. But I think the complexity of transferring classes, deadlines, degrees, degree requirements, etc, is something that these kids consider and hopefully/certainly have help with. I struggled with Drop-and-Add dates & deadlines back in the mostly computer-less days of mid-80's IU, haha, can't imagine the complexities of today (although tech does help).
  7. That may make sense. The Oregon floor is 😳 and I would get lost on it 😂 Don’t remember seeing the Boise State football turf but will be checking that out.. Go wild on the logo, but maybe maintain a similar base floor color/design. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Floor size should be uniform (I assume it is), minimum perimeter required if possible & doesn’t involve building a new gym (grandfather in older buildings). My kids played CYO bball at gyms in Indy or FW (don’t remember) that I think had maybe a foot allowance lol. A bit snug. 🤣
  8. Now the Utah - VCU game is on and I took a break from making important posts on HSN via my phone to check the tv and YIKES that floor is BRIGHT!
  9. My gut says he’ll stay at IU. Have nothing official to back that up. Basing my opinion on fact he hasn’t said yet he’s entering the portal, and he really made great strides last year.
  10. Watching the end of this Seton Hall - UNLV game and I guess I’ve never seen Seton Hall playing at home in what appears to be a middle school gym??? 🤣 I mean my high school gym is larger than this!
  11. I have a bit of a different take. Having older kids of my own, I understand they reach a point where they want to be on their own. I have no issue with this. If I recall correctly, he also stepped back from basketball for awhile to focus on his mental health. Wish him nothing but the best!
  12. Can not stop thinking about this scene after you posted that 😂😂 Carry on!
  13. It is; StubHub tickets for semifinal games look to be starting close to $100. Center lower section highest price I saw was over $800. Go Sycamores!
  14. Oh snap! I remember that but I didn’t know they didn’t have the $$ to go. That stinks! Next time let’s do a fundraiser for them.
  15. I found out a few years ago that the managers play against the managers of the opposing team the night before the game, and have their own league! Very fun. Love our managers.
  16. I wasn’t sure which emoji to choose, like or sad, but I liked your comment because while it’s difficult to read (as an IU fan), it’s hard to argue against it. Sad state of affairs at IU; I know there’s optimism within the players, portal, etc, but the overall trajectory that’s been discussed at length is just not a good one. I’d take Matt Painter in a heartbeat right now, along with Josh Schertz, and Micah Shrewsberry. I would take the coach at Indiana Wesleyan and I don’t even know who he is, but I know they’re doing well. I’m rambling and need more coffee, lol, but hopefully you get my point.
  17. My 82-yr-old mom was able to watch the game Monday night on ESPN and I just LOVE THAT!! She watched the entire game and told me her heart was beating so hard at the end “Whew!” Our whole family is watching and I love it.
  18. I may consider going to the NIT finals. These games have been great!
  19. 💯 big red flag. Go big red but not in the big red flag direction EXCEPT for under-8 flags!
  20. I saw the ending and really felt for the OSU players. They’ve come a long way since mid-February imo.
  21. His note on Instagram gave me a couple tears, very heartfelt. Wish him the very best!
