it's wild when people point to the last two years as successes and this year is just an anomaly.

and as much as i love TJD - what did he really improve? pretty much just got better at what he did right? not expanding his game or anything like that right?

possibly, but what is he gonna say about his coach? "I really give no credit to Coach Woodson?"

i wouldn't bet on not losing out. which game do you point to as a win? would you agree he should be let go if we do that?

it just seems to make so much sense for him to site health or family reasons at the end of the season.

were they really booing him during introductions at AH? if so, can you imagine when we get to the 3/10 game vs MSU in a 7 game losing streak? we'll be 14-16 at that point? finish 14-18 and then all of the announcements of everyone leaving? he better get transfers in quickly to help all of that negative publicity. i don't know. i thought no way it would happen this year, but it just might. next year could be crazy ugly if not. take away Ware and Galloway. who else? Liam would definitely have to be Larry Bird.

see, this is tough. i am 100% or getting rid of him after the season, but A. i don't want to see him embarrassed by being let go in the middle of the season and i'm sure we won't. maybe he sites health issues and steps down? B. we have to be careful to hire the right guy this time. i don't see a big advantage to having a current assistant finish the season. our season will be over before most teams any way, so we hit the trail hard after that.

and i'm interested in what would give anyone confidence that Woodson is the guy.

after watching Winning Time i can't help but hope that Liam will be our Larry Bird, but i don't think that exists anymore? kids are so entitled. interesting post that someone made about Montverde not producing winners. i can see that they are hired mercenaries and probably care much more about their results than team results. i hope Liam is the exception.

i guess this thread died? my question would be this - does anyone have faith that Woodson turns any roster into a top 15 team? any chance we have enough talent next year that he could do that?

oh, i think most feel like Galloway has to start for this team. the point is on a well constructed roster he is your 6th man energy guy. i hope you don't go to your grave any time soon, but starting Gunn? um... no thanks.

it's just hard to understand the 2 who voted they think he can turn it around. would like to hear their reasoning. then add to it 9 who think he deserves another year. do they think he can turn it around or they just think it's fine to have it be a nightmare season then go ahead and fire him?

honestly - bring an identity to this program. is it defense? toughness? fast paced offense? 3 point shooting team? don't care too much, but let's find an identity. i'm tired of wishing we were more like the SMELLERMAKERS.

i 100% agree that it would. trying to be optimistic, we could go PG? SG Galloway SF McNeeley PF Mtaco C Reneau right? i find it hard to believe Mtaco comes back, but one poster i respect seems to think it's a decent possibility. we all know him playing the 4 is improbable though. so do they play everyone out of position again? force McNeeley to 2, Taco to 3, Reneau to 4 and a transfer 5? man that would be bad.

other topics: do most people still think we can lose out and he'll still be back? i'm not so sure anymore also: if he does get another year - who do we think is legit back? like before he hits the portal, what is our starting 5? lastly: people talk about putting too much emphasis on stars when recruiting. is there anyone on this board who thinks Woodson can go after more off the radar guys with fewer stars and make them into a team the way Purdue or Wisconsin does?

i know the apathy has hit hard, but i really think we can get this to 100 pages soon. i believe in you guys. still say Archie could have gotten the same results with a team consisting of JHS and TJD. not giving Woodson credit there. still say he was playing JHS out of position and was forced to give him the reigns. no credit there. still say TJD was the same player, but better at what he already did because of another year of experience. no credit there. i'd happily take Pearl, Beard, or May next season. would love to have McNeeley in cream and crimson, but if it costs us him, so be it. coaches will be able to recruit at IU.

i had my doubts, but said that if we were going to be good he would need to be a 3 and good enough to be our leading scorer. i knew he would be playing the 3 come hell or highwater. if he could have made a quick transition to it and been a big time scorer...
