Ok, just a gut feeling here...one of those teams (us) isn´t like the others in regards to having an entire new system being established. I know Beard is new at Texas, but he´s obviously prominent. If we can get into season, and JHS likes what he sees out of our guard play and development, I think heś ours to lose.

Edit: Anybody have a timetable for this commitment?

all these guys in general..are they really what they say or is it a teen angst ordeal...I always had a few young Marines every year with broke wrist, (radial heads) mostly fighting or punching something not meant to be punched...😉

I gotcha. I’m 99% certain it was witnessed by multiple people. A freak accident, not in anger in any way

  3. Me and a buddy are playing at the Pfau course at 1030 tomorrow. Been a long time since I’ve been on campus (Marquette game romeos only year). Anybody got the hook up to tour anything? Or meet? I know it’s busy and summer and what not, just thought I’d throw it out there!

    Hey all-

Have not posted for awhile, but I think NIL is going to be huge for Indiana and recruiting. Indiana is not going to pass a State law covering NIL, so they will not have to follow State rules. IU and Wisconsin are the only ones who will not be following State law. I don't how much advantage if any this will be, but Indiana has been really blazing there own path.

Indiana was the first school in the country to have a task force related to NIL. They have an incredible system set up and ready to go which will have the Kelly School of Business supporting it, and of course Opendorse, to tailor content for each athlete and choose a plan for each athlete. The Indiana Daily Student wrote a piece on NIL which is really informative on just how far ahead of the NIL game IU is, and as they say, they are doing it for selfish reasons: Recruiting! Remember, IU's fan base is huge and in every State!

I really like this kid....more of a combo guard then simply a pure pg. I think would be an excellent fit for our backcourt....can play on ball or off depending on who else we have at the point. Be nice to have him playing next to Lander and possibly Fears in 23. Be a great addition.

Can you imagine him with TB in the backcourt?!?! 🔥

  6. We’re recruiting a whole different level in my opinion. That video I watched where someone commented 2:20 in other thread…believe the kids now call that “drip”.

IU and CMW are attractive to a whole different breed, as well as the regular in-state kids. Woody ain’t here at age 63 to make the tournament consistently. He wants number 6.

I’m interested to see the jump TJD takes from working with the new staff, specifically in the areas Woody told him he needed to improve in.  There really is no wrong answer here though.

Spot on. Imagine if TJD can hit mid range jumpers and go right? 26 ppg isn’t out of the question. Big year for him I think. Like National POY potential.

Sounds like Woodson's staff is doing a really nice job with recruits.

Interesting that this is the first time I've really heard a recruits family comment on the living quarters.  That's always something you hear with a place like Kentucky but it's nice to hear that IU put on a favorable impression.  I assume where the players live is pretty new?

Imagine the package the coaching staff can put together. Hi I’m mike Woodson. Legend here, played in nba, know what it takes to get there, and stay there.

oh that guy? That’s just Thad Matta. Oh the new player development guy? Spent 15 years in the league. Dane fife? 2002 guy. Izzo guy. Indiana guy down deep.  Kenya and yasir? Deep roots all over country.

the attraction is back. There’s no way this could have gone better in woodys first 2-3 months. No way.

  9. I know we got Romeo and TJD...but this recruiting process is entirely different in my eyes. I guess CMW is going after players that CAM had no shot at. I know a couple offers stayed and CJ stayed committed (thank God). Woodys NBA background is attractive, not only to high school kids, but to 38 year old fans like me who are seeing what college hoops is becoming.

Agree. He’s had some very positive things to say.  See, e.g., Mike’s great article in The Daily Hoosier.   I’ve seen him described as a combo guard but I could totally see Woody working him as a point guard a lot.  Woody likes a point guard with some length and Jalen Hood-Schifino might make a lot of sense.  I’m not putting Jason Kidd on him, but his frame and the way he gets in the lane is reminiscent of him.  Recruiting is looking up, big time.

Isn’t it amazing the kids we’ve offered thus far? I feel like we really have a chance with every one of them.
