  1. Absolutely the best chance. Week 1s at any level of football can be very interesting.
  2. So much agree. Now..as someone that has coached young kids before... I think our womens team has more teachable moments for young kids than the guys games. I think the men's and women's games are completely different.
  3. I didn't say complaining in the last message. I said talking.
  4. Or.. we could just use more elite players like the women. That would be my preference.
  5. So is mine. And someone being brought in as a "replacement" needs to focus on the task at hand and not an outside entity that he can't control. He gains little by talking to them.
  6. I really don't want to debate the men in this thread. They shouldn't have been brought up. It's an IUWBB thread.
  7. Mightly? No. Some, yes. That coincides with XJ being out. We turned it over like once vs. a trap on Wed. Where is all this coming from?
  8. I think complaining to officials is mostly a completely useless exercise. What call would you have wanted explanation on? We didn't seem to have any calls really go against us. The bold is a preference though, an opinions. It isn't fact, because my preference much more aligns with the strategy they used. Ppl going to the scorers table and then going back to the bench isn't really THAT uncommon.
  9. Agree. But... Meister is coming along very nicely.
  10. I think we look average against presses because we don't have the human press break..... he's out with a broken foot. Of course, we still haven't seen a true "press" all year. We've seen a half court trap. Not a true 94ft press. Teams trap one pass once we get it across half court.
  11. Sunday 2pm vs. Rutgers ... home game BTN+
  12. Yes. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the way they handled the game the other night, so I don't necessarily see what the complaint could be. We still ran great stuff ATO, etc.
  13. I preferred Ya to stay focused on our players and executing. I don't see a lot of advantages to complaining to officials. Woodson makes "points" to officials and explains things, but he also has a stupid amount more experience at it than Ya. If I were in Ya's shoes, I wouldn't have allowed myself to get caught up in the officiating because if you guys haven't noticed.... it basically sucks every game. We didn't get any worse of a whistle than Minny did overall, though.
  14. Oh man, she's unreal. Big thing for her now... developing her "body". Holmes has mentioned multiple times what the weight room/conditioning program at IU has elevated her game.... Looked at Berger muscle definition. CMM is a FREAK!!.. We do a tremendous job in the off season with "morphing" their bodies, ALONG with the skill development. I look for Meister to be someone that benefits from this tremendously, as well.
  15. I believe Larry Bird went into the stands at one point during his career and beat the brakes off a heckler, while at ISU. I can understand why.
  16. Coach identifies as living in Jackson Co.... he's good to go.
  17. Hope you all are able to tune in this evening. Can't say enough about this group of players, staff, and program. Tonight will be electric in Assembly Hall and this program and Coach Moren deserves it. 7K last weeknight home game... I think we get to 10K tonight. Or more...
  18. My question would be.. outside of Iowa, PSU, and NW(basically).... Do we mostly ONLY give up really tough shots? 🤷‍♂️ IMO.. the "game within the game" is simply .... shot quality. Generally, the team with better shots throughout the game(and being taken by the right people).. that team wins the game. As referenced in the graph shown yesterday.. (I can't remember who shared it)... it shows we get the best quality shot compared to the rest of the teams in the country. Literally the graph 100% showed that... I feel like... we also(outside of those 3 games I mentioned).. we do a pretty good job of making other teams take tough shots. So.. a product of that might be that it SEEMS teams hit more tough shots against? Idk. Makes sense in my head.
