Just a general comment from this IU fan. For the life of me can we please stop saying Underwood at Illinois is building a good program? Half his fan base wanted him fired last year after losses to Miami and Missouri.

The only reason they aren't battling Maryland and Northwestern for records this year is because Ayo was A)not developed enough to still get drafted B) Covid hit and C)Kofi wasn't developed enough or D) Covid hit...

Underwood is the recipient of some very lucky times....but please don't anyone think he's developing a program. Antigua went back to his ways. Got Kofi out of nowhere when the fanbase wanted him gone. When Antigua leaves again....Illinois will go back to the 6-14 ways.

PS...Underwood. Stephen F, Kansas St, Oklahoma St...and I can say 50/50 right now on when Illinois lands in trouble. The guy isn't changing his spots.

    Rant over. Sorry.

Oh no doubt. Definitely shady as shit. When I saw they hired Antigua I laughed. Slimy AF.

Laughable to actually throw shade at Illinois about player development with All Americans Ayo and Kofi when Archie has done absolutely nothing with TJD and in fact he's gotten worse! Has developed ZERO offense outside of 2' from the hoop. But hey, maybe Archie will have "very lucky" times and he'll come back for another season.

BTW, all the continued references to SFA, OSU and KSU just reveal your complete cluelessness. This coming from fans of the program that hired Sampson and Crean!

And even the Purdue toady agrees...love it!

I’m pretty’s sure refs are independent contractors. They can work as many conferences as will have them and conferences can hire the ones they want.

Normally you are correct, but this year is different. The Big Ten required any refs working their games to only do B1G games to reduce the chance of covid spread. So that's why you're seeing the same crews over and over this season. Unfortunately that means more Boroski! 😒

Sounds like Michigan is going to extend their pause in playing. Next weeks game vs Illinois is doubtful and Wisconsin unlikely too. That would make 6-7 games they'll have to make up.

My understanding is they aren't extending the pause but want more practice time before playing games? Which I don't get...they'll have a couple of days before the 11th. If they cancel 2 more, there's no way they get them all in.

Refs just stole 2 points from Iowa. Cockburn blocks a layup attempt by Wieskamp, who immediately puts it back in for 2 while the officials blow the whistle for a goal tend. They then head to the monitor and overturn the call, negating everything that happened afterward.

The funny part (to me at least) was I think a big reason the refs called the goal tend was he's right in front of the Iowa bench and they are all screaming for it. 😂

Them, Illinois, and Michigan have been gifted some easy paths....especially on single plays, where those are and doubling up against bottom.

Michigan's is much easier. Illini schedule is just very back loaded, final 10 games are pretty tough.

I know we can’t talk any crap, but I’m glad duke has got their butts kicked by big ten teams.

    Me too. 😁

This Duke team is not good though. Probably not even top 25 right now though they should get better over the season. Not to make excuses for K but having to try and bring such a young team up to speed under these conditions is....not ideal.

Looked like to me Ohio's coach put Kofi in ball screens and Preston did the rest either by scoring or passing to Kofi's matchup for easy points. Similar to what Archie did last year in our game at Illinois where Kofi's head was on a swivel.

Oh well. They won but again they might not be as good as some of the nonsense being posted around here the last 48 hours.

Yep, Kofi struggles with the ball screen D. Lots of bad turnovers today too, that happens this time of year. Ohio has some nice players, definitely a step up from the previous competition.

Posted in other thread but I'll start posting in this one only for Big 10 content not related to IU. Saw that Illinois was up 50-60 points and Cockburn was still in with 5 minutes to play??

He played 17 minutes. They had him running some conditioning drills after the game, need to keep the big fella in game shape.
