Kroger actually sells pre-made cauliflower-based pizza crusts.
Yeah but Cauliflower LEFSE would be an original recipe! 🙂

The original title of this thread was that the food was good... in this case, I’d say that it depends on the person.
Living in Wisconsin for several years we met many people of Scandinavian descent, many of them Lutheran. I still haven’t figured out what the attraction was, but lutefisk meals, were big events. Lutefisk—cod soaked in lye, then deep fried. Maybe Badgervol has some experience with this but all I can say is that I couldn’t drink enough beer to compensate for the gawdawful taste
In spite of my Scandinavian Heritage I have never experienced Lutefisk, it's on my bucket list! Beyond that my Scottish heritage has me wanting to experience Haggis! From what I've heard it is like Lutefisk, an acquired taste!

Never mind figured it out!

Consider it the evolution of a good thread. That's how a good thread becomes a great thread.
Mile, you'll know I tried to add to the thread title like Rico suggested but had no success? How is that accomplished?

I haven't heard of or made lefse before. But looked it up and I think a cauliflower pizza crust recipe might be an option as a substitute. I have also had good luck using almond flour or tapioca flour as substitutes in recipes.
I've used both Almond flour and Soy flour before but don't think I have seen Tapioca locally. I know both soy and almond state on the package you should only substitute about a third of the wheat flour, how about tapioca?

Now we have recipes? Not sure I want to share some of the family secret recipes? Actually, since I am trying to limit carbs in my diet I'm actually eager to try a thought I had about flatbreads. My Norwegian relatives make Lefse with potatoes, I wonder how things would turn out if I substituted Cauliflower? I'll let you know, although I don't have a reference as I've never made traditional Lefse before?

I love all "krauts". And thanks, you made me hungry for Polish sausage. But I will have to talk to Dad about the Kimchi. He spent a lot of time over in that part of the world due to Viet Nam. He will point me to who has the best in my area.
Polish sausage is great but read my edit on the last page about my experience with real German sausage, Real German sausage is spectacular!!

Well according to the little lady it is a Korean thing. But it was like sauerkraut to me.
Sauerkraut is just another form of fermented cabbage, the Korean's tend to spice things up! Mine was definitely spicy. Still having lived in South Bend where they say the Polish population is second only to Warsaw, my favorite version of fermented cabbage is Polish sweet and sour cabbage!

Hmmmmm, I have only had it at Oriental buffets.
If it was just a Buffet, have to believe you didn't get to experience the best of Kimchi either, still wasn't a bad experience!

Did you eat it with good chop sticks or bad chop sticks? Or are you like me and just used a damn fork? LOL
This was more of a sandwich shop, no chopsticks even offered. Makes me think the Kimchi was not the best.

My favorite german food is leberkase.
Just started experimenting with home made sausages, received a meat grinder as a gift at Christmas. After reading yours and Rico's posts, looked up a recipe for Leberkase. Looked interesting, even saw pork neck at my local grocery tonight, might have to try making some after I get more adept!
Have to add a story about German sausages, overnighted in Frankfurt Germany with a large group. About a dozen of us went out wandering late in the evening experiencing a truly wonderful city and looking for something to eat. We weren't having much luck finding a resteraunt until we came across a menu board completely in German outside a basement resteraunt. Since we were hungry and it was late we went on in. Nobody in the resteraunt spoke English and only one of us spoke some German, he looked at the menu and finally said I think this says Meat Tray, as hungry as we were we all said OK let's try. They brought out a tray about a meter across heaped with different sausages. Have to say every one of them was the best I have ever eaten, they really know how to make sausage in Germany!!

Had some rotten cabbage, I mean Kimchi, the other day for the first time! Was decent but not great, that being said with 1000's of recipes for Kimchi and my first experience, I can't comment on whether what I experienced was Good Kimchi, or Bad Kimchi. Still it was good enough that I will try again.

I only mention this because I haven't known anyone that didn't specifically hunt for rabbits having had it. So people probably find it strange.
Rabbit is delicious. Served with potatoes and gravy.
Was recently at a resteraunt that offered a dish made with Rabbit Livers, I was really tempted but went with something safer as I was in a foreign country. Will definitely have to put rabbit on my list!

I thought this was a strange food thread? Just sayin'
Finally back after taking a much needed hiatus,... would you allow for the fact that they do offer some strange pizza toppings like artichoke hearts? They however, do not offer the HH despised eggs as toppings! And while my liquid courage afflicted typing fingers were severally challenged after the NU game the actual spelling of the lake is the French Lac Courte Oreilles. Still some pretty darn good pizza if you are ever in the area and definitely some pretty darn good fishing in all the area lakes!

Since I miss typed in the post Nebraska thread, pizza came up again! Have to say, if you are ever in Northern Wisconsin, near Hayward, you need to stop at Anglers Haven on Lac Couderay! Some of the best pizza I have ever eaten!

I think you're going to be an outlier on not having home internet for a good while.
That's me! But 5G is really just a year away? We will see what happens then?

OK so this "Old Man" has somehow gone before HULU and left them behind. I have completely cut the cord and solely rely on cellular for my internet! Unfortunately, when I signed on to HULU tonight in order to watch the game my phone was blocked!!!!!!!! Chatted with HULU support and found out that unless I have a physical ISP address HULUwill not allow me to connect??? I commented that with the advent of 5G there would be a lot more customers like me that rely on cellular and HULU needs to catch up!!!! Who would imagine that an antique like me would be ahead of HULU's NEW live TV service? Still, going to try and find a work around and make HULU work the way I want it to work! That's just who I am!

We used to fish the Keys many years ago and a friend of mine caught a Snook! Had it cooked at a local restaurant and still to this day is the best fish I ever ate! Looked a lot like a Walleye!

I’ve had bad escargot but mostly when I’ve tried it has been excellent! Maybe you had an experience like I did with head cheese? Or perhaps even an allergic reaction

You’re a brave man mile!

Breakfast pizza?
That was my thought but it was right there on the main menu and I don’t think the restaurant is open in the morning. Maybe it’s like breakfast all day?

In Moscow, ordered a pizza and it came -- with egg in the middle.
No -- no way did I even try that.
Here in TX, chicken and waffles is now the rage. As in waffles with fried chicken on top. It's actually pretty good, strangely.
HH is right they do have pizza here with egg in the middle! I didn’t order.
At least it has bacon on it!
