  1. All season long and at times last year. Thought it may have had to do with Archie guys adjusting from the pack line, but some of the guys doing it this year never played for Archie.
  2. With the trouble we have guarding the drive and the over-helping issues, I think it is time to switch to zone full time. Should also help keep our guys out of foul trouble.
  3. I'm assuming he is referring to Armond Hill
  4. Need to quit passing the ball to anyone being guarded by Audige.
  5. Exactly. Our offense started looking good last year when we ran the XJ/TJD PnR and then in the Big Ten tournament we got TJD going with some baseline movement to use his quickness advantage against Illinois and Michigan. Time to try out JHS and TJD in some PnR, and with Race getting some of his confidence back, he needs to stay out on the peremiter to give TJD some spacing.
  6. Said we shot good in 1 1/2 games, which would've been Nebraska and the Arizona (after the slow start).
  7. 4th game in a row where TJD was double teamed on the catch. In that stretch we've hit open shots in 1 1/2 games and lost 3 of the 4. Missing open shots isn't on Coach Woodson, but what is on him is not coming up with adjustments after seeing the same thing over 4 games. Need to come up with something to counter the way we are being defended rather than hoping a historically bad shooting team starts hitting shots and also having guys drive into the paint getting the ball stripped.
  8. One thing the guys does well is get buckets. He was 4th in the country in points scored per minute.
  9. I think it's the DJ Burns from Winthrop. 6-9 275. Built like the lovechild of former Hoosiers Marco Killingsworth and DeAndre Thomas
  10. Oh no. I guess this means Xavier will win a championship in the near future. Oh wait, he's not still the coach of this year's title contending Arizona team? Looks like it's former Gonzaga assistant Tommy Lloyd who has taken mostly the same team Sean Miller had last year minus Akinjo, from 17 wins and a 5th place Pac 12 finish, to at least 32 wins and 1st place in the Pac 12. Give me a break, Miller has under achieved big time at Arizona considering his talent level and cheating.
  11. I agree. Durr does have some skill. He seems to have a nice mid range jumper and is a good passer for a 7 footer, but doesn't have much else going for him. He had a few good games, but had trouble catching the ball in post and going up strong. He got blocked or got the ball stripped nearly every time. He is slow getting up and down the court and slow laterally. He didn't look to be in good physical condition most of the season either. I just don't think you can afford to use a scholarship on a situational player. I think getting a player like Payton Sparks from Ball State, a 6-9 240 physical big that can rebound, especially on the offensive boards, would be of more use in this conference. There may be better options that become available, and if TJD and/or Race leaves, we'll need to find a serious upgrade in frontcourt depth. Geronimo is ready for more minutes, but we'll still need some help.
  12. More facts. XJ was 15th in the nation in assist percentage according to Bart Torvik.
  13. They very well could, but it also wouldn't surprise me if they get to the elite eight. They are the best team in the country over the last 30 days according to barttorvik.com's metrics and while they are not a great defensive team, they have shown to be more capable on that end of the court than last year's team that lost in the 2nd rd as a 2 seed.
  14. Yep. I had Illinois all the way last year. This year, I am hoping I didn't over-correct. I have Purdue, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, and Illinois advancing to the 2nd round, and only have Wisconsin and Iowa going further than that.
  15. While his shooting % isn't great, it does appear he is capable of shooting off the move, especially compared to the rest of the roster. I don't know if the numbers back that up, but i think they ultimately will next season. His shooting mechanics are there, he seems to have confidence in his shot, and his release is relatively quick.
  16. Lol! Just felt dirty saying anything remotely positive about Purdue.
  17. I would rather have Murray. Not because of the outcome of the game, but because he plays more under control and competes on defense. The guy just does everything at a high level. Kris Murray is going to be a force in the Big 10 next year. He may not get to his brother's level, but he is still going to be pretty darn good.
  18. Yep. XJ is a me first player. Just ignore the fact the has the all time best single season assist rate in program history.
  19. I hate to say anything nice about anyone on either of these two teams, but I would love to see Keegan Murray or Jaden Ivey in a Pacers uniform next season, assuming they don't end up with a top 3 pick. Either would fit well with Haliburton and Duarte, and Jackson.
  20. Before the season started, I was thinking a successful season would be 20 wins, a NCAA tournament birth, beating Purdue, and decent showing in the BTT. This season was a success, especially compared to last year and we have a chance to exceed expectations by winning a game or two in NCAA tournament. I think Woodson can get this team to another level moving forward. We were right there in several games, with only the Michigan and Michigan State games being blowout losses. Every other loss, we had a chance to win. While our 3 point shooting % has improved from last year to this year, we still only made 6 per game which was tied for last in the conference. We were also last in the conference in FT %. The other thing that hurt our offense was offensive rebounding. You would think with TJD and Race getting a lot of rebounds, we would be one of the better offensive rebounding teams in the conference, but actually neither are great at getting offensive rebounds. To put things into perspective, Penn State's Harrar grabs the same amount of available offensive rebounds (16.9%), as TJD (8.8%) and Race (8.1%) does combined. Geronimo had the best % of our rotation players at 11.2%. If we run it back for the most part, get Geronimo more minutes next year, and add a bigger wing that can shoot, I think we can make a significant jump next year. Just making slight improvements in our 3pt shooting, FT shooting, and offensive rebounding, while not dropping off on defense, and we are in good shape moving forward.
  21. He improved from 18% last year to 26% this year. I don't know how realistic another 8% jump would be, but i'm sure that is what he'll be working on. He can do everything out on the court, but shoot right now. If he can make other teams focus on him on the perimeter by becoming a respectable 3 point shooter, his ability to drive the ball can be utilized that much more.
  22. Pacers help themselves by losing to the Cavs. Need the Cavs to finish no worse than 6th, otherwise they risk losing the lottery protected pick if the Cavs get knocked out of a play in game.
  23. I hope so. Would love for him to figure it all out and be a major piece on this team. I'm definitely a fan and want to see success for someone from my city and high school. He has some skill. He can get to the basket pretty easily, just needs to keep getting better at finishing. He has shown glimpses of court vision, making passes others on this team couldn't except maybe for XJ. If he can get healthy, get better a keeping his man in front of him, and take better care of the ball, he can be an impact player. I wonder if it would be better for Lander's development, If XJ and Rob come back? Will it take pressure off giving him another year to learn the system, get stronger, and get adjusted to the speed of the game, setting him up to be a regular rotation player the season after next, or will he only get better with game experience?
  24. Not holding my breath either. Just trying to be positive and talk myself into thinking we have a chance.
  25. Have to win this one or at least to in the BTT to have a chance. Slim chance for either to happen, but we did beat them earlier. They have matchup issues for us in Ivey and Edey, but they don't have anyone that can guard X. Need X and Big Shot Rob to show up and if we can get more than the combined 13 points from Thompson and TJD from the 1st matchup, and more than the combined 2 points we got from Kopp and Stewart, we just may keep this game close.
