  1. Me too, I was hitting banks much earlier then basket when I was a kid. My dad would bust our doing long banks and baby hook banks, didn’t beat my dad til probably 17 in horse. Dads family could all play, three cousins played at Lee College in Breathitt county Ky, oldest went one to coach em for years- State Senator now. I was raised in Bremen, had a dirt court for years.
  2. Hate to see Franklin leave, I’ll harbor no ill will towards the young man , I’ll follow him if I happen to tune into a Virginia game(not likely). Good luck going forward unless Virginia gets IU in the challenge, which is very likely.
  3. Listened to Dane on Dakich , he was loading his car- getting his dog squared away😉
  4. Couldn’t have said it better, I’d take him instantly, looks lightning quick.
  5. I think Coach is gonna really try and lock down the state, he mentioned something along the line of putting together a top team without leaving Indiana, obviously I’m assuming that was tic, we want IU players - be it Bremen Indiana or Bremen Germany.
  6. Gotta agree with Scott on his order, I think Franklin is already killer and Lander with a good summer could be special. Damn, Geronimo is another ready for a larger role.
  7. Either way, I hope he stays, if he doesn’t and goes to Illinois, MSU, or yikes Purdue- he will have wrote his own page in IU lore and not a positive one. Hope he stays, improved a ton sophomore year and could be all BiG next.
  8. Yea, I posted that message before the “ my message is as true as your is” type of message, seems my problem is replying when I see something before I read the entire thread🤷🏻‍♂️.
  9. I didn’t know that and hadn’t seen it posted either, that changes my outlook quite bit and shouldn’t have posted a previous message.
  10. To be clear, I don’t like the idea of Franklin looking around , especially to local BiG teams, my biggest problem was with the delivery with the mommy comment- Dakich has been saying Mommy’s all damn week and if I hear or see this it again I may vomit. That being said, Franklin choosing the Illini would put him in a special category for me, hopefully he’s just checking options, looking a a major decision for all these young men. I agree with whomever said if Woody isn’t actively trying to recruit over all of them we picked the wrong man, I think our coach will do his due diligence just like the players.
  11. Wow, this is a bad take on by all accounts a very good and respectable player. Shame we don’t have a down vote- I’d sure give you one.
  12. I hope Franklin, Davis, and Lander stay ,they could be a special trio. I really like all the players, shame Archie couldn’t get them over the hump, I’m really excited to see CMW!
  13. This is so true, generally speaking the folks on This Old House are actually craftsman, I do agree the renovation shows are nice for ideas in general.
  14. Wanna point out that though I also approve and have been talking about working the grey/edges, not condoning any cheating.
  15. Disheartening the negativity around this hire, ain’t no damn wonder it’s hard to hire a coach - if indeed it is a hard sell. Give me the man who wants the job with his heart and soul.
  16. This made me chuckle , I’m nearing 50 and have a hard time making it thru a 9pm game, admittedly watching Archie’s teams would put a crackhead to sleep.
  17. I was lukewarm at first, the more I thought about it and heard so many endorsements (I know this is iffy) I’ve really came around to loving the hire. Let’s face the facts, he bleeds cream and crimson, has 30+ years of NBA experience as player and coach. People who are looking at his win percentage should look a little closer and see that his teams absolutely improved, he took some gutter teams and won. Not worried about x’ and o’s, he’s gotta get people around him that can help navigate the NCAA and recruiting and I believe we will all be pleased. Big thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
  18. This I have to admit I love, I’ve heard about Wes for 20 years, he shuttled players to UK forever until last handful of years, I’d love to have a few top 5 types at IU!!
  19. First and foremost I’m very grateful HSN is up and running, thanks for all the hard work! That being said, Stevens would have been epic, but just about any on the list we’ve been seeing is an upgrade over what Coach Miller have us the last 4 years. Keep your heart people, we may just rise from the ashes yet.
  20. Yeah, I remember when we crushed Kansas in the armed forces game, I’m racking my brain about Unc- last game that comes to mind is demolishing them at The Hall, but that was Zellers 2nd campaign. With so much suckage the last 5 years- I’m finding good memories harder and harder to remember. Oh well, they talk about Izzos 4 year players making a final 4, ours get ranked good before and flame out in tourney. I do recall Izzo finally broke his run with a 4 year player making the F-4. Scott, I swear I’m about in the same spot you said you are, this season combined with previous seasons have broken my spirit.
  21. Top 10, I can’t really remember being ranked since we started good Creans last year and lost 10 or something BiG games. Someone will probably come and tell me how we were ranked 2nd week of December in Romeo’s year with 10 cupcake wins and 3 losses to P5 teams- I sorta remember some nonsense like that. I honestly can’t believe anyone is happy with the state of our program if they are completely honest with themselves, or they are to young to remember what we used to be. For those of us 40+ we are a shell of our former self and it’s hard to be really happy with any season in a long time besides “12”- even “13” we barely made it to the Syracuse game and once getting there got handled fairly easy. 2012 is our best season since Gordon/White squad. I have such wonderful memories of quality basketball as a youth, but my oh my how the mighty have fallen, no school and I mean No school has fell as far as we have - please someone change my mind , bet you can’t !
  22. Poor Davis, by all accounts a very good man. The shoes he was expected to fill would have been too big for King Kong. Davis gave us a few memories, some good some bad, I still chuckle thinking about his losing it on the sideline versus U.K. 😂
  23. I was talking about their drumming of us.
