A buddy just texted me that he thinks Tucker committing means Mbako is gone. But I don't think that is the case at all, right?
That buddy is wrong

Just a question, buy why does it have to be this way? Why do we have to get them late in the game under these circumstances always versus during the early signing period? Did we not go after him earlier?
He was focused on going to G-league ignite until they ended that

I think it’s silly not to have a plan. You absolutely have to knock it out of the park with the 2025 in state class.
They will have a plan for 2025. Right now they are just focused on acquiring talent for next years roster that fits together.

Is he option B to Perkins (and/or Bruce Thornton) or would they take him too and tell Leland Walker thanks but no thanks?
Not sure right now

What I think will be telling is how many non 1 year guys we get. We for sure will lose Leal Galloway and 90% Mgbako. If we truly are in on all ‘25 top 4 Indiana kids then we probably need 6 open scholarships. Obviously kids leave so I’m sure a couple transfer out so realistically we need to take 2-3 one year eligible players remaining or someone like Ware who could easily leave after 1 year with us due to draft potential.
I'm not sure there's that much of a plan. They're just trying to acquire talent that fits together.

it's interesting that Tucker has same HS and Coach as XJ
That's why Kenya was able to get IU involved quickly

What's the word on Blazi's visit?
I think it's still going on but it sounded like he was going to commit on or after the visit unless things went bad.

Sears is another name to watch as a guard but I'm not sure how that one will play out

No reason to keep it quiet. It's a good development selling point.

And honestly, if you're Bradshaw... aren't you giving us a long look before you turn us down, with what we LITERALLY just did with Ware?
That and he knows Mgbako pretty well. They are from the same part of New Jersey.

Bradshaw fits well. Do you have any info on him, outside of you think he'll get in the portal?
I think he fits better with MR than Kel'el. I don't think he'd have to start, though.
This is actually a pretty good start to the portal season, we just have to finish now.
He's a 50/50 guy on entering the portal. I think he will and IU will have interest in him. I like him as a rim running lob threat that's over 7'0 foot tall.
-
I think having 4 guys in Perkins, Walker, Cupps, and Galloway that can run the offense is ideal because Woodson can have 2 of the 4 on the floor at almost all times. Cupps is clearly number 4 and would see a smaller role but I think that will be good for him to grow behind those guys.

First of all, holy hell... that would be one tremendous portal haul.
I do think that or something similar is possible. Things are trending well with Perkins and Tucker. We'll see what happens when Hickman and Walker visit but I think they'll have a good shot. I believe Blazi will be the 13th player honestly. We won't know on Conwell until their season finishes.

Is that Bradshaw from UK, is he in the portal. I hope Thornton is our starting PG next year
Perkins is more likely and IU won’t get both. Bradshaw hasn’t entered yet but he will

You're leaving a scholly on the table there DC.
13th player would be a guy that can play the 4/5

Get playmakers that can score, move the ball, and play competent defense. If they add the shooters I expect the spacing will be much better

I like Perkins and think he’ll be a fantastic pickup if things get finalized like expected.

This is what I'd like to see. The last roster spot could go to someone that can play the 4/5.
1. Perkins, Walker, Cupps
2. Conwell, Hickman, Newton
3. Tucker, Galloway, Leal
4. Mgbako,
5. Reneau, Bradshaw

I’m assuming he will be back. The only reason I leave the door open to the possibility of him being gone is how emphatic he was during media day that he was only planning on being here a year. I realize plans can change, but that still lingers in my mind.
You said it yourself. Plans change and when the NBA says you aren't ready then you either take chance on playing in the G-League or you go back to school and make more money in NIL.

So you have no info on Blackmon, just what you think.
Mostly my opinion. To this point there hasn't been much talk of him. I've heard there could be some conversations between the two sides but it still needs to play out a bit.
