Yeah I forgot what thread we were in.

Absolutely on Saturday.. playing from behind will be next to impossible. Productive drives matter. 3 points is points.

Bottom line... football is blocking and tackling, the rest is mythology. (And SPT and TOs) 🤣

Eliminate or reduce big O plays over 20+ yards is a key too.

SPT play can win and lose games on our schedule. Being consistent is huge this year. If we can be that, we'll win 10 games.

If Frost doesn't bench him how bad must their backups be lol.

How will Martinez learn? It would set the tone for the season...

I like Martinez a lot too. Just wish he shed the Manziel style and take what the defense gives him.

Sure. He could also very well end up being an Isaiah Simmons from Clemson type difference maker at LB

I was envisioning a JJ Watt comparison but Dasan has more developed skills in comparing apples to apples.....

Who knows? I absolutely agree but things like that don’t always work out. I’ve seen guys desperately try to add weight at that age and it doesn’t work. The great thing about Desan is we don’t “need” him to change anything, no matter how he develops, there’s a spot on the field for him and he’ll excel at it.

Agree, the fact we are getting this "type" of player who has both raw and developed skills makes the future soo much more exciting to be apart of...it's a great day to be a Hoosier!!

He’s not going to play as a bull rusher at IU. He’s going to be a stinger LB. that’s been the plan since he committed and hasn’t changed.

Correct, but could you imagine what he could do at 265 with the skill set he currently has?

I'm not arguing his current plan, but Mike Tyson says it best. Just playing the hypothetical game with him. For years, we couldn't have these convos. It's fun seeing how the program has evolved.

You may wanna ask Dasan first because he’s gonna play wherever he wants on the defensive side of the ball. I also don’t hate the idea of him playing TE2 in the red zone or situationally if he wants to. Kid is an absolute freak of an athlete

I'd be interested to see how much weight he can put on going into Frosh year. He could be an elite Edge rusher with that reaction speed.

I just like we're putting together a serious case for Curry to come here.

Excellent coach/scheme, players around him, better facilities, better assistants, and tons of his friends/proximity to home.

He's legitimately going to have to turn us down. We provided a solid, solid option for him.

You are spot on with this assessment. I went to the CG game last week and was told by someone who feels very confident that we are in a great spot in the recruitment. My opinion, a hot start to the season will go a long way and only help make it harder to turn this culture down...

My wife has over a 2.5hr drive, one way, to Gibson Southern tomorrow night. She will get back late our time.

Does she work at GS? I was down for a practice/fundraiser a couple weeks back and they looked really good. The soph rb is going to be a stallion.

You can cut it however you want. We're 14-7 the last 21 games and two of those losses are OSU.

100K ppl? We played UM and PSU at HOME lol.. we whipped UM, so whatever I guess.

The chances of us coming away from Iowa, Michigan, and Sandusky U with 3 wins is not very high, at all. None of that changes the course we're on AT ALL.

All that matters is we win in Iowa. It will set the tone for the season and could be the foundation to a 10-win season.

I am in a league with some old friends and Co workers and they had some pretty good team names. I'm sure some of you have heard a couple of these but were new to me. The guy that owns a furniture store team is Sofa King Good. A married couple his is, I like Big TD'S and I cannot lie. So his wife came up with I love it when Mahommes goes deep. I gotta get creative now

I wouldn't ask Rico for his thoughts, I'm sure he could come up with some creative ones....

I dont love the first heading, but I agree with the write up for sure.

My first take from the QB play yesterday wouldn't have been "Eason outshines Ehlinger".... mine would have been more like "both QBs show how they can be effective" or something like that.

Eason showed the arm. Ehlinger had some up and down throwing wise... mostly solid though, but the bottom line is... He had 34 yards rushing in a half, as a QB. Thats big time.

They play the same position, but their uniqueness is a good thing for us.

Love this champ!! Couldn't agree more and want to piggyback off your comments.....

Winners close games, whether its D1, D2, D3, NAIA, HS, etc...at the draft level Chris picked Sam, coupled with his ability to come back and win an NFL preseason game against players fighting for a 53-man spot is off the charts. I left the game at the beginning of the 4th because I didn't think he could pull it off and was satisfied with what Eason did in the 1st half. With or without Carson, Coach Frank walked away the winner yesterday.

  12. If anyone wants to watch daily practice warm-ups, follow @IndianaFootball on Instagram. They usually go live around 9:45am for 15-20 mins and you get to see a field view from the account.

A few of the basketball players will join and comment as well. Awesome seeing the buzz from inside the Athletic dept across other sports in support of the team.
