  1. So much for Kanye Clary... Commits to Mississippi State
  2. Dead at 87... Alluded to it the other day, but this was Gossett at his finest...Caution: Language
  3. My comment was more as a team of broadcasters, but I'm not a big Eduardo Perez fan to be honest... He's like most color analysts these days...More worried about analytics and launch angles... And part of it is me...I prefer the old "tell a great baseball story" like Joe Morgan and Jon Miller rather than a guy filling dead air time with analytics between every pitch...The game and its history are much more enjoyable listening than hearing people talk about spin rate and release points... Addendum: watching the Braves-Phillies game, with John Kruk doing the color commentary... He definitely puts the color in it... That's what I'm talking about
  4. The kid has a high motor and is a very good post-up guy already...But I'm not sure with Malik on the roster he's going to get the playing time he wants...
  5. Kinda hard to answer with an incomplete roster...As it stands, I think the only 2 sure things to start are Reneau and Mgbako (assuming he's back)... I know a lot of people are enamored with high percentage 3 point shooters, but I'd take a more well rounded kid like Perkins, especially considering the intangibles, at the 2 over say guys like CJ Wilcher... We can definitely revisit when the roster is set...
  6. Fair enough...Like I said, he's a lot like Galloway, only more consistent, and more of a vocal leader... Perkins brings some things that can't be measured...But the toughness/leadership component is an important one to me...
  7. "Ball Four" pick
  8. Saved by the Brabender! 🤣
  9. I see Perkins as more of a 2, kjnda like a more consistent version of Galloway...He can play the point, and did a lot for the Hawkeyes, but I just think he's more comfortable playing off the ball... If Thornton becomes available, by all means for the one... The Mack kid was pretty impressive against us...Sure, give him a look... And I'm just gonna throw this name out there...Kanye Clary...The kid can play...I think there was some really hard feelings over Clary staying when Rhoades came on, then Rhoades switching to Ace Baldwin and staying with him when Clary got injured...Here's a comparison between Clary, Baldwin, and Mack... Just something to consider...I don't think his dismissal from the team indicates that he's a bad apple...He just thought he got screwed coming off the injury...Stuff happens...But he's an immensely talented kid...
  10. I think Tony brings a toughness that we've lacked in the past...
  11. I always thought Holtmann was good at just letting kids play...And I think that's what CJ needs... Where I think Holtmann struggles is getting kids to play together....
  12. And people wonder why I think Ravech, Perez, and Cone are terrible...
  13. 19 Always wanted to work Gene Brabender in 🙂
  14. I'd heard 🙂 there was a bridge you could park on and watch, but you couldn't hear the dialogue... 😉
  15. Didn't they have a <ahem> drive in theater in Ellettsville? It allll makes sense to me now 😁
  16. You got me by one... But, I get to go below The Mendoza Line ...
  17. Oh... Zeke Mayo... May-o-naise 😁
  18. Just saw CJ Wilcher of Nebraska in the portal... 39% from 3 for Hoiberg's Huskers this year...
  19. Don't know... But he was 2nd team All Big 10 according to the league coaches...
  20. Kid reminds me of Cam Christie... I'll take that...
  21. Not nearly to the extent of Tony Perkins... Galloway might be close on D, toughness, and experience but he's a better offensive player than Trey... And Leal isn't even in that conversation... I watched Houston's Jamal Shead this year a few times, and he's a lot like Perkins... And he only shot 31% from the arc last year... But the games I watched, he was the toughest, not to mention best, player on the floor... Iron will... I think Tony Perkins can be that guy for us...
  22. As far as Perkins goes, take the ball out of his hands, and he's a better 3 point shooter (33% in his first three years as opposed to 30% this year)...He's much better driving the ball... But with his experience, toughness, leadership, and defense and I'd take him without blinking an eye...
