  1. Are you guys using the IHSAA App to watch these games?
  2. As pitcher Joaquín Andújar once famously said, "There is one word in America that says it all, and that word is, 'You never know."
  3. Top of the list for a Friday commute was this one, which we used in ATC when I was actively controlling airplanes back in the 90s..."ya gotta keep em separated" 😁
  4. Don't look now, but Penn St is tied with Illinois in Champaign with 6 minutes to go...
  5. Feel good for Joey Brunk...14 points with 16 plus left in the game... They're going to him and he's producing...
  6. It's not what he's saying, it's the disrespectful way he's saying it...he can bring valid criticism of the players and coaches any time he wants, and I would probably agree with some of it... But the arm flinging tirade saying this is the worst exhibition of coaching he's ever seen at IU (and that's exactly what he said) simply isn't true, and he knows it... He wants to see really crappy coaching, he should break out tapes of his Bowling Green teams (yes that's hyperbole...but it's as true as the BS he's been spouting)...
  7. Is Dakich one of those? He's a guy that had one shining moment for IU which is really more myth than reality...he scored a whole 357 points in his 4 years as a player...I don't think he has any room to criticize the players on our current team... I use to give Dakich a pass because he did the right thing with the team when Samson got canned, but the public display of his being an ass lately has eroded those thoughts down to nothing...
  8. I don't know...I listened to Dakich about 2 weeks ago after one of the 5 losses in a row, and he blistered the staff and the players...said it was the worst coaching he'd ever seen while watching IU basketball... Now, I know Dakich wants listeners, and part of that is inciting his audience, but I'm pretty sure Coach Woodson isn't going to stand for some yokel saying stuff like that...
  9. I'll just say this... If I were Dakich, I wouldn't want to run into Mike Woodson anytime soon...
  10. I don't think trying to "cancel" Putin is a good strategy, nor is it going to work. Putin doesn't care about companies not dealing with his country...he's got the most essential thing (oil) covered. He doesn't care if his people suffer... All it's going to do without military power to support it, is piss his deranged mind off and set in motion what I think are going to be unimaginable events... I believe he wants to cement his legacy one way or the other, and we need to stand up strongly right now... And we need a 21st century Churchill...
  11. I used this formula... And came up with 2
  12. Here's the shot Harper hit... I don't think that's bad defense at all...can't foul the guy... And going back to the confidence/culture aspect...how do you account for 2 60% FT shooters (Omoyuri and Hyatt) draining 6 in a row in the critical stages of the game?
  13. Yes, but how did they get there? Both were lightly recruited out of high school... It's a development/culture thing in my eyes...and I think if Mike Woodson gets the time, he'll fix ours...
  14. And I think that's a culture thing that's not going to be solved in a year. I think Mike Woodson is right when he says some of the players are still conditioned to the old culture. The mechanical play of an Archie Miller team as opposed to the freer flowing Mike Woodson philosophy of "if you're open, shoot the damn ball." He's trying to inject confidence in these kids and sometimes it shows...but when we run up against kids that have grown up in a positive culture like that, we defer... We're just not up to Wisconsin's or even a Rutgers level in the culture department yet...it takes time
  15. I'm a bit simple minded, but it seems like a simple issue to me... Our coaching is fine. We get open looks and we play good defense for the most part. Every team every game is going to have some breakdowns. Subbing pattern is fine... What it boils down to is when Rutgers needed their go to guys, they got results. We didn't. Think about a couple of the late game buckets Mulcahy, McConnell, and even Hyatt made on the inside. They weren't going to be denied. And of course Harper with the dagger. He knew he was going to make that shot... confidence and mental toughness. And that's contagious. Also, one of our last possessions, we got two good shots, one by Race, and one by Trayce on the rebound. Neither had the confidence or tenacity they were going to score no matter what. And we're a bit hamstrung that our go to guys are post players rather than wings or guards (like Harper and Baker) because once you get it down there in the post, your options are limited. Stewart got open looks at the end too...he just doesn't have the late game confidence that the Rutgers kids had. I do tip my cap to him for making the shot that tied it, and even taking it showed a certain moxie. And I think Coach Woody calling his number again after he'd struggled shows how much he believes in these players... Sadly, in crunch time, they don't believe in themselves sometimes...
  16. Having watched him play 5 or 6 times, I'm not sure his outside shot is good enough at this point to be a 2. He's got a good mid range game and dribble drive as well, but if he going to get big minutes, I'd say a Chucky Hepburn of Wisconsin type role would suit him best...at least starting out...
  17. He's hit his last 4 and he's shooting 60% for a reason
  18. Actually, I say get a 2 and foul Omoruyi again
  19. Boy, XJ OWNS one guy on this board 😁
  20. Rutgers is very tough in these situations... But it's time for us to outfight somebody for once
