That's not "manipulating". That's a known weakness of any statistical sample: you can't build a model if there aren't enough data points. And I think most major conferences have better things to do than sit around and tweak their scheduling just to manipulate certain statistical metrics. Getting a little bit into tin foil hat territory with that one.

We just have different definitions of the term then. 8 years ago means a 17 year old recruit was 9. That’s close enough to be in their active memory. Two of the stars of that team (OG and TBry) are still in the league. Maybe not exactly our best stretch, but it’s not nothing. Only 3 teams have won outright B10 championships since: Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan. (Illinois, Wisconsin and Maryland all had shares of one).

We won the B10 in 2016. If that’s a “very long time”, we have vastly different definitions of that phrase.
