Used to do a fair amount of air travel but now it's limited to just a few trips each year. For our posters who travel the skies often I'm sure they could add several. My few are those who try to run up the aisle and get off plane before others, people who take their shoes off while flying to be comfortable, those who can't seem to talk at a normal tone to the person next to them, and the window seat passenger who gets up 4-5x during a flight. Was on a flight from Indy to Atlanta few weeks ago. Air travel is about 1 hr 15 minutes. This must have been some active bladder because it was 4x during the flight alone. Never an offer of I'm sorry or whatever.

    A) The Atlanta airport is a pet peeve in and of itself.  Correction: It's either the 3rd or 4th circle of Hell....can't remember which.  The sign outside shouldn't say "Hartsfeld-Jackson International Airport".  It should say "Abandon hope all ye who enter."

    B) It's slowed down this year, but from June-November of last year, I flew from Cincinnati to either Dallas or Houston at least 8 times.  And I developed a skill I never thought I'd possess: falling asleep on an airplane.  I started requesting the window seat every time, threw in a pair of actual ear buds (non-Apple, with the rubber insert to help block out ambient noise), put on something from Audible and knocked the F out. Before takeoff in a lot of cases. No putting up with irritating people getting up all the time, talking too loud, or just being assjackets in general.

And it probably saved me a few pounds, too.  Those damn cookies that Delta gives away are almost up there with Thin Mints for me.  If I'm asleep, I can't request any.  xD

  2. Big market teams are like the playground bully. They look impressive, can throw their weight around and can knock you over if all you do is cower in fear.

So how do you beat a playground bully? Sit around and whine about how they're so much bigger? Nope. Fight smart. You get faster and more mobile and get your shots in without getting blasted. Or, you go the opposite route: find out something embarrassing about him and throw it back at him.

I'll add one more point to the NBA. Have to be some pretty nervous folks at NBA offices and ESPN. Ratings are already down 25% for Finals. Can you imagine if Lakers/Lebron don't get their stuff figured out and now add Kevin Durant. 2 of the games biggest stars out again next year come playoff time?

I think they're worried anyway. Even with KD out, you've still got 3 of the top 10 draws in the game today (Curry/Kawhi/Klay) and ratings are still down. And it's not because of the market sizes of the teams involved. Toronto is bigger than Chicago, and the combined Bay Area is top 10 in North America.

The mornings I'm screwed because there are  sets of women at 9 and 10 who watch the house rehab shows....which is why I settled into the midday gym time.

House rehab shows are halfway tolerable. Be glad it isn't The Real Housewives Of BFE or wherever it is now.

  5. People who insist on asking Siri/voice command the same damn question more than twice without it understanding them.

News flash, jackwagon: you could have typed it in or opened the app yourself already!

"Siri, what's the weather going to be in Nowheresville, WV tomorrow?"

    *no response*

*slightly louder* "Siri, what's the weather going to be in Nowheresville, WV tomorrow?"

    "Sorry, I didn't understand that."

*louder yet* "Siri.... what's the weather..... Going to be..... In Nowheresville, WV..... Tomorrow?"

Meanwhile, I'm standing in front of them, having already unlocked my phone, opened the weather app, typed in "Nowheresville, WV" and have had the forecast on screen for 10 seconds, while they're staring at their phone like some
poop-flinging orangutan, wondering why the imaginary person inside doesn't like them all of a sudden.

People who talk on bluetooth headsets or use speaker phone when on a phone call in public.

Speaker phone, right there with you.  But what's the difference in someone talking on a headset vs holding the phone to their head?

Yep. Somehow it's our fault when politely asking the kids parents if they mind controlling their own.

Keeping on that topic and since it's wedding season...peeve of mine is the outrage from the couple or family member saying they won't be coming because the bride/groom chose for it to be adult only wedding reception. Am going to one this Friday night and I know exactly how 2 of my buddies wives will be the entire time. Facetime on, texting/talking about nothing else besides her kids and eventually my 1 friend will have enough and mention why in the hell did you guys even come. Fun times!

There's a good one: people that insist that every call be video/FaceTime. Those people are part of the reason I'm still using my 4 year old Android.

At the time of the drat no one would have seen what Leonard has become because no one thought this was possible for him.

Exactly. Because of the way the trade was executed (assuming because of either salary cap or other restrictions), it's easy to say "He traded Kawhi for Hill". No. He traded a first round pick for Hill.  If the Spurs told the Pacers to pick Chris Singleton, Chandler Parsons, or any other 2011 draftee, that's what they would have done. Bird and the Pacers had zero input into who that pick was, and had zero intention of keeping whoever it was.

Like I said, if the pick could have been sent to SA before the draft and they made the pick directly, Bird doesn't get half the criticism he does for that trade.

I'm sure you know this but the trade was determined for the rights to the pick.  Then the spurs told the pacers who they wanted at that pick.  Most people at the time liked the trade and it did bring aome value to the pacers for a few years.  Sure hindsight is always 20/20.  Going forward if the spurs or patriots ask you to trade, you just decline.

If the Pacers traded the pick to the Spurs in advance of the draft, and the Spurs drafted Leonard, the optics of this trade are completely different. At the time, was Hill worth a mid 1st round pick? Yes. In any universe, is George Hill equal to Kawhi Leonard? No.

  10. One thing to remember: Toronto isn't one of the fabricated "super teams". GS has 4, maybe 5 guys that are legitimate stars. Toronto has Kawhi, Lowry, who has almost become a star in his own right, and a bunch of guys who are at the "pretty good" level (Gasol, Ibaka, FVV, Green, Siakem, etc). There's always the debate of "Is it KD or Curry?" Not in TO. This is Kawhi's team, period.

A reminder of just how damn good Kawhi is, and kind of refreshing to not have a team with a "Big 3/4/5/whatever" on the verge of a title.

How good will our "failed" "class" of TJD, Armaan Franklin and Jerome Hunter eventually look?

I see the potential for the Thomas Bryant/OG Anunoby/Juwan Morgan class.

I've said this before but if this year's freshman class is "failing", I can't wait to see what winning looks like.

Your definition is different than that of the rule book, every NBA player's definition not on GS, and refs, the coaches, and almost every other fan of the game. This isn't really a matter of opinion, it's a matter of the rules, which are there for this very reason. It's a dangerous play. The only thing that is up for debate is whether it was intentional. Most, including me, saw it as intentional. I was watching the game live. I've also watched Za Za's dirty game for years. I'm sure you haven't, you only follow the Pacers, but you're entitled to your opinion on watching replays.

To the tune of "Hava Nagila":

    Za-Za-Pachula,
    Za-Za-Pachula,
    Za-Za-Pachula, you dirty schmuck.

    Everyone! Za-Za-Pachula......

Maybe everyone should stop calling him 'Magic'.

Question about that name.  Did he bring io college with him, or did he pick it up after getting to MSU.

Brought it with him. He was dubbed "Magic" by a reporter as a high school sophomore after a 36 point, 18 rebound, 16 assist triple double.

Me too !  Love dogs, I do.

I guess I could google this. But I will ask Hoosier race fans instead.  How many winners can they get on the trophy, before it is filled up.

Infinite.  They just add an additional ring on the bottom.

Anyone ever do the glamping or tiny houses for rent in infield at 500? I'm not sure I would want to do 2-3 days at the track but an overnight on Saturday and wake up inside the joint on Sunday morning would be cool.

I've never seen the tiny house hotels before but that is an awesome setup.  A little pricey, but given that it includes 4 relatively decent race tickets....

Staying in the infield, but having running water, A/C, a hot shower and an alternative to a fiberglass crapwagon? Hell yes.
