Wait a minute, I thought you said he'd already made his hire in Frye?
He has. So why not announce it.

what pressure made who cave?
Do you think he made the decision to fire Allen all on his own? Please tell me you don’t think that?

I don't think our current AD has anything to do with our poor football performance for 70+ years, but yeah, my job is easier than Scott Dolsons.. I'll say that much.
Nope! But he has everything to do with it now! And now is where we are at. The pressure got to him and he caved. He needs to make a great hire and if he can’t he’s just proven he’s not worthy of his position. After all it’s a business. And he has to prove he can hire winners.

Scotty has really stepped in it now.

Dolson has already lost the press conference. He should have already announced his decision. The longer he waits the more underwhelming it’s going to be when he announces it and the programs slips deeper to an all new bottom.

Doyle and his Indystar article. Right coach can win here now! So tell us know it all. Who is that coach that can win here now? An unproven? Had been done and failed. A young up and comer? Tried failed! A mid major? Tried failed! Major player, proven big time winner. Never been tried. Why? Look at the totality of this and what is the one common denominator? An administration that has not and probably still does not care about football. They care more about being politically correct. Finally a player comes out and speaks the truth and the media says. He’s just supporting his coach. Until we hold that admin accountable our mens sports programs will continue to suffer.

Definitely going to have to recruit some QB's
IU football. Always in rebuild mode. Always a dumpster fire. I sure hope Dolson made the right decision. His hire was not a home run.
-
One thing is for sure. This firing and buyout puts all IU coaches on notice. Win or pack it in.

These days the new staff brings their own QB. Purdue - Card, Louisville- Plummer, etc.
And Sorsby is aware of this reality.
Only if the new coach was a head coach.

You could be right but I haven’t heard his name mentioned much at all.
Exactly

The players already know. That’s why they are already bailing.

Word’s out! Justyn Frye it’s a done deal.

I just can’t see IU making a change at this point with all the money they have thrown at making it work this past year? And listen. We have three head coaches on this staff. And one of the best offensive line coaches in the country. We improved but still couldn’t get the wins. No above average coach is going to take this job. And unless we get Urban Meyer, we get another rebuild and more of the same. Bottom line is no matter the coach. We need more and more money so we can get some of the players that would never think about coming to IU think about it.

Nobody uses the board any longer, it isn't cool. How close do you watch other programs because it seems like a lot of teams shows this inconsistency
Not trying to be combative, but I don't care about other teams. I care about IU. If we can make five ft and in bank shots that would give us an advantage, if other teams can't.
-
The two areas I can question are the fundamentals of shooting and nutrition. 1. Why on earth do we not shoot the majority of our shots from five feet using the backboard. This has been a problem with this bunch now for years. A non bank shot from five feet in is one of the toughest shots in the game. They should practice angles and bank shots everyday.
2. Nutrition. I cant tell you how many times we have been a step slow or just looked weak? We have had many games this season this has been evident. Not sure what the problem is? but is seems to affect IU more so then a lot of the top tier programs?
-
Too many missed layups and open looks. Too many second chance points for the nittwitts. Tired legs? Not sure why we seemed a step slow. I just think this tournament needs to be scrapped unless, when the west coast punks arrive we cut down on the regular season conference games.

Just conversation chaff...
Exactly. And will be fun to see who is right?

Sorry, I hate getting into matchup talks. Defense is rarely 1 on 1. It's complete team/scheme concept.
Exactly and Kopp on Hoggard would be a feast for Sparty. Hoggard would break our defense down with Kopp on him.

No, I think @btownqb has it pegged...
Geronimo on Hauser and Kopp on Hoggard...
Kopp can not check Hoggard. He will be sitting three quarters of the first half.
-
4 minutes ago, IUFLA said:
So that would leave Geronimo on Akins?
I'm kinda doubtful on that...
I'm not. So Kopp who is bigger and slower should guard Akins?

The italics answered the bold. JG is guarding the more post player, and Kopp is guarding whoever is more perimeter oriented.
JG losing Hauser on the off glass and losing him on the perimeter are things we can't have today.
I think Kopp will guard Hoggard. Kopp will have 3-4 inches on him.
Kopp will guard Houser and Gally will guard walker and JHS will guard Hoggard.
-
This is going to be a dog fight today. If the refs call it right we should shoot 30 free throws.

Scoring runs and TV timeouts. That's what the college game is today. Sad. Used to be the team with the best coach and strategy and fundamentals and execution of those talents would win the game. I'm glad to see Woody has slowed the game down.

I would take Chucky in a heart beat. But it’s Frye with our OC and DC staying on staff.
