@BGleas You might be my favorite poster on this side. Every time you post it’s just straight facts. The NBA is unfathomably more popular than College Basketball, and it’s really not close at all. I’m a fan of both and I can see why people prefer one over the other, but it’s just so painfully obvious which one is more popular to an extent that even arguing about it is asinine.

TJD will definitely be gone after this year, XJ is probably gone, and Rob, Hunter, Race, and Stewart might all decide to graduate and move on. There will be plenty of spots since not everyone will want to stay a 5th year.

I watch this and wish we hired Woodson 13 or 4 years ago. I’d be proud to have my (hypothetical) kids play for him.

I would imagine some 4th year seniors will choose to either try to go pro or play their 5th years elsewhere. But you’re right - there are a lot more factors and moving parts than in the past that can be hard to plan for.

I’m very glad IU made a serious offer for Stevens. I’m also very happy with the current situation that worked out.

There will always be the illegal market even with NIL in effect. I think it’s going in the right direction where players can earn money off of their own likeness, but I can see scenarios where it can still get shady and a company or booster could essentially bribe a player to go to a certain school.

I think Miller left UIUC because he wants to play point guard and Curbelo is preventing that. No chance he’d get that opportunity at IU.

Ideally Trayce will be able to stretch the floor a bit next year. I also don’t think Brunk is going to be getting more than 10-15 minutes per game next year.

I think Mike is right. The Woodson news felt questionable at least until the Matta hire was announced.

Geronimo was probably my favorite freshman. I assumed he was transferring so I was incredibly excited that he decided to stay. He’s going to blow up under Woodson.

I haven’t seen any discussion of that. Eric Gordon would be crazy!

They announced it for Kenya Hunter so I imagine it would at least be a news article.

I’m guessing it’s technically a demotion but they’d probably at least keep his current salary.

I’m so glad Parker Stewart is staying. I’ve been looking forward to watching him play every since he committed.

It’s hard to be patient, but don’t be surprised if these decisions drag out for a little bit. These guys are making huge decisions about a situation they didn’t sign up for. Those that want to stay and coach Woodson things can help the team will stay, the guys who want to move on will go elsewhere, and hopefully CMW will find great replacements in the portal.

Seems like there should be AAU events this summer, just because everyone should have access to the vaccine by May. But I’m just speculating.

Hopefully IU doesn’t get screwed by waiting too long to offer.

I’m sure part of it is how closely we all follow IU. I would bet fans of other schools are this passionate and irrational too, but we just don’t see it.

I think atmosphere is the right word here. He creates an atmosphere with his players that is conducive to winning. His players look confident and comfortable on the court.
