  1. We've got 2 local chicken places here in SC that are beyond excellent. "Little Howies" does home made fried chicken, mashed taters and gravy, plus tenders, etc. Always piping hot and great tasting.

2nd outfit is "The Wing Place". Have about 6 different sauces they cook them in, and every order is made custom, including the fries. So they're nice and hot.

    We frequent both.

  2. Didn't know where to post this, so I figured this thread is as good as any.

Have you guys noticed that after a steal and a run-away from a single player going to his bucket to dunk, almost always takes a minimum of 3, if not 4, and I just saw Livers take 5, count'em 5, steps before he dunked it and the refs just ignore it.

They ignore it for virtually every team, including IU. And it's not limited to the B1G either.

    Drives me nuts....

I was told that I will probably have to replace my knee sometime but was to young at 35 to do it.

You still might be too young. Evidently the prosthesis are only good for about 20 years from what my surgeon told me.

Supposedly there is some kind of gel/liquid that can inject into the joint to "act like" cartilage to buy you some time. Don't know the history if it works or not, but I know it's out there. Might want to talk to your ortho guy about it, if you haven't already.

    Good Luck!

That's what I have heard. Hopefully by early summer I have recovered enough from open heart to get it looked at.

Pray all goes well for you Jeff. Recovered from mine in about 6 weeks, but my procedure may have been different from yours. Hopefully, you'll be in ICU for a while afterwards. ICU is the best ! You move an inch and the nurse is hovering over you asking what do you need/want.

Please keep us posted on your surgery and progress. Us old farts have to stay together you know...

Hats off to you, brother...Glad you've persevered...

I'll second the knee replacement thought...not from personal experience but close...My sister (15 months older than me) had it back in 2016...They prescribed her morphine for the pain, and she never go off of it...She was abusing it toward the end...Took her in her sleep 3 years ago January 3rd (they think she passed on New Years morning but they didn't find her til the 3rd)...Accidental OD

Really sorry for your loss.  That's sad and devastating.

  6. Ever since I was about 55 (ages ago), anytime I'd complain to my Doc about aches and pains, he'd say "You're at that age...". And unfortunately, he was right.

One heart attack later (2 stents & a balloon), the downfall had started. Now, at almost 70, I've had 2 hip replacements, a knee replacement, and a triple by-pass.

Believe it or not, the knee replacement was by far, the worst. I'll go to a wheel chair before I have another one done. Hips are a piece of cake, IF your surgeon goes in from the front of your thigh/hip. Recovery is 3-4 weeks, and you leave the hospital with no restrictions. I divorced the walker before I left the hospital the next day. Could have played golf in week 4 if I wanted to.

I won't go into the stupid stuff I did when I was young & dumb. (and at my age I probably don't remember it that well anyway!)

It can get a little pricey.  We did some bathroom shelves and towel rack using it.

in keeping with the stairway with the horse, use black or plastic pipe, for the stove topper, and then just wrap it in the dull side of aluminum foil. Voila !! Stainless steel look !

  8. Because Garcia's name has been brought up as a failure to recruit, I decided to look up his stats so far.

Plays 29 min, 12.7 pts/game, 6.7 RB/game and just shy of 3 TO's per game. I doubt if he would have gotten anywhere near that amount of minutes here. For a frosh, I didn't think it was too bad except for the TO's. Haven't seen him play more than a minute or 2, so can't make any comment on how he plays the game.

Just happened to see DJ Carton's numbers as well, and he's tracking at 12 pts, 4 asst's with 3 TO's per game.

Another thing I use for investing is my HSA.  As a 33 year old single guy who is usually in pretty good health, it made sense for me, but I know an HSA isn't great for everyone.  You can invest the money in HSA accounts, so I have been doing that lately.  I have about $5500 in it and get just over $80 a month added to it by my employer.  At 65, you can withdraw from an HSA without penalty, but it is taxed at that point.  I'm making a lot more than I would if I just let it sit in a bank account.

Current law (subject to change of course) is at 65, (or later) you can "rollover" your HSA into your Traditional IRA without taxation. Also, you can use your HSA account to reimburse yourself for Medicare Part B premiums (not part D, just B) without taxation.

I guess our game on Wednesday doesn't look as easy as some thought it was going to be.  I saw where NW was picked at the bottom of the league but I thought they were better than that.

Right now, MSU looks like the bottom of the league. I know...it won't last. But NW is running them into the ground, at least in the 1st half.
