  1. What's our strongest position group by contemporary standards? Reneau, Ware, Sparks - all essentially 5s. If Reneau or Ware were consistent threats from 3 then they would at least fit together a little better. But both seem more like wanna-be stretch bigs. That's not a rip on them. But they're both clearly more comfortable/accomplished on the block/interior. The occasional, inconsistent 3 by either is peripheral to their comfort zone where they excel.

The problem is constructing the team around having 2 5's on the floor.  Galloway should be the 3 and Mgbako the 4.

It would be worth a try, but I still don't think there's enough talent their to move the needle even with the adjustment (meaning at the 1 through 3 positions).

  3. I've watched most of the season, just haven't commented. At this point, the biggest thing for me is simply disappointment that we don't have more talent/depth in our perimeter/guard room. This is in line with those who are questioning/criticizing roster construction. 1 through 3 are the most vital position in modern basketball at every level. Dynamic guard play and outside (3 point) shooting are what dominate the game. You aren't winning consistently without it. And it's painful how lacking we are in that area.

Fischer said during the broadcast that he had already heard rumors of NIL amounts offered to some of our players by other schools to enter the portal.

Which also confirms what we've been saying the last couple years, the talent on this team looks better, but importantly, that should also yield some results on the field. And we're talking modest results. Nobody's clamoring for consistent B1G contenders, let alone eve consistent bowl eligibility. We're just talking about getting a few wins.
