I may be more pissed about the Bucs / Packers game than the U game.  And, I'm not even a Packers fan.  I dislike Brady that much.

    Go Chiefs!

I have always hated the Pats, Brady and Belichick, and figured Brady was a product of the Pats system.

But looking at this season... maybe Brady WAS the system?

All kidding and hate aside, I seriously think Cal looks not well.

He looks like he has gained 40 pounds, looks unkempt and almost sounds unhinged when doing interviews.

He is barely recognizable. I do not mean it as funny, just makes me wonder.

This is him the other night...

Looks just like Bobby or Geno screaming at the refs back in the day, but with a mask under his chin.

Seriously tho, when ESPN interviewed him during the draft...seemed a bit off...

There's really something to be said to hearing about your favorite restaurants and bars when you were a college kid, now in your 50s, and they're still there and going. Bloomington going strong, Give me Mother Bears, Little Zagreb's, Runcible Spoon, Nick's English Hut, Cafe Pizzaria, Village Deli....

We ended up going to Mother Bears. The girls had gone there after a soccer game in Bloomington several years ago, but it was my first trip. Yummy. Had a good pie and a local IPA that was tasty.

I hear ya.  Would be tough for me to write the Purdue University as well.  By the way talking about kids. Don't know if you know, I live in Colorado.  Spoke to the youngest neighbor across the street. Who's best friend is attending IU.  She narrowed her choices to IU and Colorado.  She chose Colorado.  I was disappointed.  But congratulated her on her choice, anyway.  Understand logistics.

Again.  Glad to have you as a member here.  Keep on posting.

Well, I’m back. Our daughter is insisting we take her down to The Other School today... need to figure out dinner plans after an afternoon walking the campus. Anyone know which of the above recommendations are or are not open for dine-in ?

I'm curious. Did you actually go back to March 28th and find this comment because it mentioned a Purdue player and bring it back up?

No, I just read through the last page of the thread. Was curious if anyone knew why he wouldn’t at least go through the process and get feedback.

That's the thing. Look at Kyle Guy, Caleb Swanigan....or guys like that who had incredible collegiate careers and were certain for NBA careers. Guy has played 5 minutes this year and in 3 seasons Swanigan has played 75 total games and usually it's about 5-7 minutes per game.

Guess the idea of earning GLeague or overseas money is just so more appealing. No problem with that but wish some of these guys would stop with headed to NBA talk.

I’m sure Caleb would like to have played more, but he’s made over $5 million and is 23 years old. Not a bad place to be.

Let me premise this post by saying that the virus is a significant situation.

However, I believe that the vast majority of people who actually contract it, will recover from it completely. Only people with OTHER underlying conditions (respiratory, COPD, compromised immune systems, etc) are at high risk. And they should take significant precautions, as should their inner circle of friends and family to protect them.

But some in the media is are making this sound like an automatic death sentence. It is overblown from a "death standpoint". We lose 30-60,000 people a year to the flu. I'll wager that we don't come anywhere near that death toll with the Coronavirus. Certainly the instances of contracting the virus will go up significantly with more testing, but the rate of deaths will not ramp up at the same rate as the instances of positive tests IMO and in the opinion of the task force. Dr Birx of the task force suggested that the death rate could be far short of 1%.

I support the short term (15 day) recommendations made by the task force today. Short term pain for long term gain.

And the more decisions made at the local level the better. (like individual cities/counties rather than state or national mandates) Where I live in SC, we have almost no cases of the virus, and the few that we do have are far away. Why should restaurants be closed here, when there are no problems at all? Let that call be made at the local level.

Cruise passenger infected with coronavirus: 'I never showed any symptoms at all'

You really don’t know that there aren’t cases near you. In fact, I’d guarantee that there are. You can have it for a week or more without showing symptoms.

Unfortunately ?   You should be so lucky having to make it back to B-town.  By the way. Happy to have you as an active poster on my most favorite IU fan board.

Yeah I know, but would be nice if she joined her older brother in WL, if only from a purely logistical standpoint. And it will be hard to write “Indiana University” on a check...

I will give you a pass this time but next trip to Bloomington,  no excuses 😀

Unfortunately, looking like I might have quite a few trips to Bloomington in my future...starting in August of 2021, and I’ll be bringing my checkbook with me...

The only question I have is did you have a pint or a yard of Guinness for me?

Well I had a Stella draft and a beam and coke at the show... does that count? Didn’t make it to the Irish Lion, my brother and I both had to work the next day so we took off for Indy right after the show... guess we’re getting old.

  11. Had an awesome time in Bloomington on Thursday night.

Great meal at Little Tibet, then a killer show by Durand Jones and the Indications.(homegrown soul outfit who I HIGHLY recommend seeing if you have not already) Bluebird is a great venue. Lot of history there, can’t wait to go back.

Is the Video Saloon still there? That was my watering hole in my last couple of years at IU. Always followed by a trip to the Taco Bell afterwards.

An IU grad I work with mentioned The Vid when I told him about my visit to the Bluebird. He said the name dates back to when they used to show movies in the bar, which seems like an interesting concept.

I have a special spot in my heart for public school teachers.  As my wife retired after 40 years as one.  35 of which were at the same school. Our resident Purdue poster's sister went to IU.

I’ll report back after the show- it’s next Thursday. Durand Jones and the Indications - formed in Bloomington!

Have a great time.  One of our most iconic posters is a Boiler.  Get back with us on how things went.  You seem like a good guy, Sam. Open invitation to hang around after the trip to the Bird.

Thank you for the hospitality. As a longtime Indiana taxpayer, as well as the spouse of a public school teacher, I sort of feel like I have a stake in all our state schools.

Plus one of my daughters has expressed in interest in heading south instead of north for college...

Your question will take many of us back in time to great memories.  The Bird is legendary for sure

    Will do sir!

There’s a Taco Bell across the street.  Always worked for me when I was leaving the Bird at 3 am.

Thanks, but was thinking more along the lines of a place to grab dinner beforehand.

How’s the Village Pub? Has really good reviews on Yelp.
