  1. Was on my way to a great Grid, but settled for Kent and McCovey on my last two squares.  Bottom row of Hall of Famers don't total what I got on Travis Jankowski. Only on the Grid can that happen.

Now Bellinger has fractured ribs. Dang it man. Hendricks has been crap. Alzolay is a gas can. With all of the injuries and schedule to be 5 games over is honestly a blessing.

I hear ya, but can't feel overly sorry for Cubs Nation.

That's one-third of the Reds regular 9 that have not seen a minute yet this year.  Throw in that Encarnacion, Cendelario, Fraley, and India have all missed multiple games at some point, and the Reds lineup has been patchwork all year.

De La Cruz, Spencer Steer, Will Benson, and the two Catchers are the only projected regular contributors that have stayed healthy.

    Elly De La Cruz 😍

using the opposite field like a vet, currently... He's made two plays defensively, 70ft down the line from third base, this season, as well. Insane talent.

Insane talent......if he keeps it consistent.  There were times last year where you had to wonder if he forgot to pack his brain on a road trip.

His 4 walk game over the weekend speaks volumes about his growth as a decision maker.  And, opposing pitchers really can't afford to pitch around him because of all the havoc he creates running the bases.

The numbers and avgs don't matter a hill of beans to me. I wouldn't have OFFERED CJ Gunn.

Evaluation is done in practice.  Again, those avgs are nil to me.

Paragraph #1: You're playing the hindsight game.  A lot of players make a substantial Freshman to Sophomore leap.  And, Kaleb Banks flashed some potential in multiple games his freshman season.

Paragraph 2:  Whether it turned out to be the correct decision or not, those that saw CJ Gunn in practice thought he deserved a Sophomore year.  Guys like you and I didn't see him in practice.  Your overall argument condemns Woodson for bringing Gunn back, yet you admit he had an advantage in the ability to evaluate and make a decision.  You're using a contradiction to support your message.

So much for the Pirates hot start 9-2, they are now 11-11

It will be interesting to see long they hold out on calling up Paul Skenes.  He is absolutely dominating in AAA, and they can use a shot in the arm (no pun intended) now that they have hit the skids.  If nothing else, he's going to put butts in the seats.

Wow….i forgot Smiley pitched for Pittsburgh, and the last time the Pirates had a 20 game winner, I was 9. 😂

The 20 game winner is going the way of the Dodo bird.  The top of the rotation guys start 32-33 games and pitch 6-7 innings per game.  Just not the opportunities there for them as it used to be.  A starter trailing 3-2 after 6 is no longer in the game long enough to get the W for that late rally to win 4-3,

  7. LOL.  Should have saved this one for High Score Friday,

    • I likely wasn't going to get anyone other than Arrieta on Cubs no-no but was expecting it to be around 20%. It was the second square I completed, and it was a sign of things to come.
    • For the 3rd square I did, I figured Jenkins would be about 10% on Cubs 2K.  Miscalculation again.
    • The Drabek square takes the cake.  WTH?
    • McCutcheon was my last square, and I was in a 'Who gives a flying f@*# at that point

Espada's pregame speech to the Astros today should be: "OK, we won a game yesterday. If we win today, it's called "two in a row". And if we win again tomorrow, it's called a "winning streak"... It has happened before!"  Damn.  Terrible start.

    Having Verlander back won't hurt.
