I agree, but I’m a KY guy. I didn’t grow up hating Purdue. I grew up hating, and still do, Kentucky at an unhealthy level.

I hate UK 1,000 times more than Purdue.

I dont really care or not if Purdue wins or not on most nights.  I just dont want them to win a National Championship or against IU.

Otherwise, I generally like it when Big Ten teams do well on the National stage.

I’m not eating turds or giving up my left testicle for anything basketball related!

My point is that the Edey 'frustration' by IU fans would not exist if he was a Hoosier.

My issue is less about people who complain about 3 seconds or getting away with fouls.  A good amount of that is true.

That said, anyone that says he's not really that good and point out he'll never be a great pro are the ones being just a smidge hypocritical.  There is not an IU fan out there that would not love to have him on our team regardless of how skilled he is or what his NBA future looks like.  Are we trying to win games or trying to look pretty  regardless of the outcome.

Did you guys see the play in the 1st when India tried to score on the SF? What the hell was CES doing? That was in signal to slide?

I saw the pkay live, but never paid attention to the details on replay.  But, from what I heard, CES did not properly give him the slide signal.

That said, if I'm India, and I know the fly ball is not deep, you gotta consider taking a peek yourself.  The throw was so high, no way he gets tagged out if he slides.

For all of you NL guys, has anyone noticed what team in the NL Central and is in 1st place with an undefeated record at 5-0 so far??

The Pirates started last year red hot as well.  Think they were still leading the division at the end of April.

  5. 9.  Pleasantly surprised to get below 10 on this one.  I will confess I got extremely lucky.  I was intending to put Orosco in the Guardian/Oriole square.  Somehow I ended up on the Guardian/Padre square and didn't realize it.  Thank goodness he worked there as well.

Enzo Hernandez may be my favorite answer in the Immaculate Grid.  I use him every time the combination pops up.  Random baseball card memory from my youth comes in handy.  The name 'Enzo' was unique and stuck with me.

@IUFLA we both got Boog and we got Candiotti on different squares.  I thought of Ernie Whitt as well, but was not 100% sure he was ever an All-Star.

Careful where you walk, about like Indy lately with all of the shootings. 36 homicides in the first quarter … last number I saw. 😬

Trust me I know.  I work in the downtown business district.  2 daytime shootings in this area in the last few weeks.

Judge yourself however you wish, but I was just catching up on this thread and I was itching to get caught up so I could post this exact same thing.

Some people are cool when they find out they think like me.  Most, however, are horrified.

You typically read the room.pretry well.

I would tread very lightly. Anything you say will come off as either bragging or condescending....kind of a no win.

You are fine. If I were you, I would almost avoid discussing Purdue (defending them or admitting weaknesses etc), and just stick to more general basketball discussion.

By no means am I requiring that. Just my opinion, since you asked, on how to tread a rivals website during these times.

Oh, and piss on the boilers 😝

I have to ask.  Who are you responding to?  I read the all the posts on the previous page and see nothing that fits.

  9. I have been to events at the Brown, but never actually stayed there, or eaten at the restaurant.   It is a very nice hotel though.

The main nighttime/entertainment district is about 3 blocks south.  Walkable depending on the time of day.  Would probably Uber back to hotel at night if you do go there though.

When was the last time we beat a #2 seed in the NCAAT?

When was the last time we lost to a #15 or #16 seed.

We can argue semantics, but there is a difference between 'being the 'best' and being the 'premiere'.

The Lakers aren't the best in the NBA Western Conerence.  They are the premiere.

The Yankees aren't currently the best MLB team. But, they are the premiere franchise in the sport.

    etc, etc, etc.

  11. The whole Shortstop / Catcher thing intrigued me.  I was expecting there to be less than 30 in history.  The two positions have virtually nothing in common.  I was surprised to see there were 431 correct answers to that square.  Many of them were old-timers, but almost 20 are players who have played in the 21st century.

I use to talk to Plummer when he was with the Indianapolis Indians...Very nice guy to kids...

And I've told the story before, but one of the guys in my grid bummed a smoke from me in 1977 :)

And I avoided Biggio at 2nd/C at all costs...I knew Tovar had, like Campaneris, played all 9 positions in a game...

I don't know if we talked about on here or not.  But, did you see where Plummer passed away earlier this year?

  13. 21.  In hindsight, I wish I had did Campaneris at2B and Farmer at SS.  But, I did the Farmer square first.  I was worried I would be tempted to settle for Biggio in that square if I could not think of anyone else.  It wasn't until later that I remembered Campy played all 9 positions in one game.

And, @IUFLAI'm embarrassed that you came up with Plummer and I settled for Bench.  I wasn't displaying good Reds fandom there.
