Just saw Reds SS prospect Edwin Arroyo is out for the year with shoulder surgery.
WTF is going on? I was looking forward to see him play in Louisville this year.

As expected, Babe Ruth was not a valid answer for Marlins/Angels.
Some names I possibly could have pulled out of my ass if I thought about long enough are:
- Devon White
- Cameron Maybin
- Fernando Rodney
But......there is one name I actually considered and then discounted, which would have worked. Coulda, shoulda, woulda..
- Matt Moore.

I still got that last guess remaining, but ain't n0 way I'm going to get it. Going to put Babe Ruth in the square just so I can see the answers. My next post will be a list of guys I should have thought of for the square.

FYI. I agree with your sentiments.
Curious as to who would be your top 3?
1) Pearl
2) Iowa State Coach whose name I can't spell
3) Shrewsberry

That's ridiculous. May built FAU from the ground up. Ollie is much more comparable to Mike Davis, Tubby, etc who inherited a HOF coaches roster and then crapped the bed when all of those players left.
Let's talk again in a few days.

Dusty May. Finally an IU alum, who's up and coming, having success, very likable, fun style of play, and cheap enough for us to hire.
And we are going to let him go to Louisville.
It is extremely hard to be a fan of this program. It really is.
Dusty May could very well be a better coach than Mike Woodson. But, he should NOT be in the top 3 on the IU candidate list.
Yes, his team made one magical run to the Final Four. News flash. They would not even be in this year's tournament if they had not done that.
Heck, you want to base it on one tournament run, then let's go hire Kevin Ollie. He won the whole damn thing and look at where he is now.

Reading this thread just gets me more depressed about the state of Indiana University basketball.
I dont recall the number of pages the Moses Abraham or Luke Brown threads had, but this one will absolutely shatter the HSN thread size record before all is said and done.

She's throwing direct shade at BC and Benter.
Will be interesting to know if she bothers attending the State Championship games. If she's hat concerned about it, seeing a player live is better than relying on stats anyway.
That said, I stand by my comment about stats being available. If a school doesnt want to send to MaxPreps, fine. But, the IHSAA should have a process in place to gather stats and provide them to the public.

🤣
The availability of 'good' high school statistics was better in the 1970's than it is today. The daily newspapers would publish lists of both local and state-wide scoring leaders.
Today, I'm not even sure if 30% of schools report to MaxPreps.
It's ridiculous.

If Purdue is going to make a run, I really hope it’s this year.
Am I subject to public floggings if I say I kind of hope they do? I swear I’m not making the following up…..I’m….ummmm….kind of dating a Purdue cheerleader. No, not former…current. Yeah, I wouldn’t believe me either, but that’s a whole separate topic. 🤣
IU wasn’t worth a damn since December anyway and if they’re ever going to make a run….might as well be her senior year.
I’m going to go hide now before I see torches and pitchforks.
Are you SERIOUSLY telling me that I can no longer make Purdue cheerleader jokes!
My life will forever be diminished.

Wonder if this one would have helped your score at all….Pirates/Twins player…Pat Mahomes.
Yes. Definitely would have scored less than Liriano. Liriano was the most popular answer for that square.

Hadn’t heard that but also not surprised. $66m for 2 yrs with an opt out after year 1 is excessive.
I hate Boras. Just saying.
Headed to one of the best pitcher's parks out there. No excuses if he doesn't earn his money. Crazy, but outside the 2 Cy Young years, he's been mediocre.

I agree that I’m not in favor of NET relative to head to head. Having said that, as a program it’s your obligation to play the rules as they are set up. Get your efficiencies way up. Learn your lesson.
Indiana State did just that and Virginia, with a NET 40 spots lower, got the bid.

Snell to Houston rumors heating up. But with Boras as his agent, who knows what’ll happen. Would love for them to take a run at Bauer too. Worth the risk as he’s willing to accept the league minimum.
Did the Snell rumors heat back up today? I heard this morning they had cooled quite a bit.

It's always good to complete the grid, yet frustrating when one square totals half your score.

The Conference Tournament Champions of the Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC are all in the same bracket.
Virginia getting in over Indiana State is a travesty, Every single metric favors the Sycamores.
