  1. Steph Curry is en fuego in NBA all star game
  2. Huge difference in punching a player and slapping the head of an assistant coach. Huge difference.
  3. Man. Fight earlier today has escalated to murder.
  4. Kind of depends on who it is. If Roseanne Barr grabs me, I'm going to take offense, By contrast, if Allie LaForce grabs me, I'll get excited, but in an entirely different way.
  5. Howard is at fault Gard is at fault The Wisconsin assistant is at fault Some players are at fault And, let's not forget that Purdue deserves plenty of blame as well.
  6. Take that to the Hoops board. This is the MMA thread.
  7. I saw the video. It was an open-handed slap, not a punch. In the grand scheme of thing, the worst thing about it is it initiated the player fracas. He should be suspended for the year. Not arguing that. But, if he is my employee, I don't fire him specifically for that infraction. He thought his players were intentionally embarrassed and he stood up for them. Best thing Gard could have done was let him walk by
  8. Howard will get suspended for the year. But, honestly, I don't think this is a 'lose your job' deal. I just don't.
  9. Brad Stevens no longer headed to Louisville. He's going to Michigan.
  10. If that's all, I may need to revisit what bumper stickers are worth.
  11. When all else fails, blame Purdue. Makes me feel better just thinking it.
  12. I agree. This was wayyyy more interesting.
  13. Just got home. Anything interesting happen in the Big ten today?
  14. Counting this season, in 5 of the last 7 years, the 3A representative from the South has been a Mid-Southern Conference member, Every school in the Mid-Southern finished the season in the top 200 in Sagarin ratings for girls basketball. The only 3 other conferences to make that claim were the Hoosier Crossroads, The Metropolitan, and The Hoosier Hills.
  15. So, are the Plymouth kids lying on the floor crying afterwards because Zeller beat them in the State Championship on a half-court shot, or was it because it wasn't a single class tournament?
  16. My team is playing in the 3A championship. Tecumseh vs. Lafayette Catholic is 1A. If you dont want me to root based on public versus private, I'll choose another method. Let's see. How about North vs. South. My team plays in the South and so does Tecumseh. Or, how about I got to watch Tecumseh play some yesterday and their team and fans are easy to root for. And then there is the fact that Lafayette Catholic has 'Lafayette' in their name. Makes me think if West Lafayette, which makes me think of the Smellermakers. Yeah. I think I will root for who I want for the reasons I want. P.S. While there are many reasons, public vs private is still one of them.
  17. Jodie Whitaker was from Austin. Renee Westmoreland is who led Scottsburg to a single class title.
  18. Here are the early computerized projections for next week's Girl's State Championship games. There seems to be a lack of evenly matched contests. If you are a geography buff, you'll make note that the team representing the North part of the state is predicted to win all 4 games.
  19. I haven't watched 2 minutes of NBA this year. I just can't. Don't watch much college anymore either. But, I'll still make time for a good Big Ten game if I can.
  20. I got no idea and frankly it pisses me off.
  21. Silver Creek cheerleaders rarely go to an away game these days. They will for New Albany, Jeffersonville, or Charlestown. But, if we go to Seymour? Ain't happening. Chatard didn't bring cheerleaders to the semi-state game today. And, while I wasn't at all of our boy's home games this year, I have been to several. And, I think the band has been there maybe twice. The band is a critical component in the atmosphere for a high school game. Loved it when Rushville brought their band to the 3A girls regional last week.
  22. I will say this. Bad high school basketball teams are worse than they were when I was in high school. And, good basketball teams are better than they were when I was in high school. When I was in school, 30 points was a blowout, even if it was big school versus small school. Now, we see games with 60-70 point margins from schools IN THE SAME CLASS. Can you imagine the margins if a good 4A team got hold of a bad 1A team in today's environment?
