  1. My parents were 100% country music, with some gospel thrown in if it was sung by a country artist. Dad passed when I was in college back in the 80's. But mom didn't pass until last year. I now have literally hundreds of Country music albums from the 60's and 70's. I think I counted over 20 Johnny Cash albums alone. Cash was my dad's favorite. At some point I need to sort through and decide which ones I want to keep, which ones might fetch something if tried to sell it, and which ones aren't worth keeping or trying to sell.
  2. I have this CD, but haven't listened to it in ages. It is a great song.
  3. You guys are missing some incredible halfpipe performances in the Olympics.
  4. I was actually hoping you would read it to me.
  5. He was part of one of the most memorable plays in baseball history.
  6. Don't get me wrong. I like it well enough for it to be Carload of People Approved. But, to enjoy it to the greatest degree, it's better if you are alone. Better environment to take in the unique quality of the song.
  7. Not sure it acquits them. 3 game suspensions are for failing a test. Suspicion of use because of the smell when you walk into a hotel lobby likely falls more under coach's judgement. Too much noise about the weed use for me to believe there isn't something to it. That said, the biggest takeaway I have from the whole episode is how differently the players handled it. there seems to be universal agreement that some handle the suspension better than others.
  8. Glad to see Romeo leave Boston. Just didn't seem like he had any future there. New city, new coach, new system. Hope the Celtics and their fans look back at this trade 5 years from now and regret it.
  9. Daily Commute Musical Update Heard this one on the way home tonight. Steve Winwood is an underrated artist, who is mostly forgotten today. He had some better-known songs (While You See a Chance, Higher Love, Back in the High Life, and Roll With It). Higher Love even won a couple of Grammys. This one is not as well known. But, it is unique, and I will listen to it when it comes on. That said, it's one I would probably prefer to listen to Only In Car By Myself.
  10. Steroids are no longer part of baseball.
  11. Top 5 worst things to happened to baseball 1) Domed Stadiums 2) Shifting and other 'analytics'. 3) The DH 4) Home Run / Walk / Strikeout explosion 5) Relief Specialists
  12. I heard 5 broke curfew, 3 broke another team rule. Your post indicates 2 were engaged (curfew breakers only?) and 3 were not (other violation). Your post indicates 2 of the 3 were sulking and it is known that those 2 have previously been in doghouse. The other who was not engaged in the shootaround is a freshman talking to (being mentored by?) a team captain. Those puzzle pieces seem to go together. Will be interesting to see if some of the suspensions are lifted for MSU while others are not.
  13. Yes. My wife opened an account here for the specific purpose of putting me on ignore.
  14. Made it home before curfew tonight and was piddling around looking at some national stats. This one surprised the heck out of me. I may be misremembering, but it seemed like Al rarely got to the line for us.
  15. I'm high on the prospects for the rest of the season.
  16. How would you rank their odds of making a roster? I see it as: 1) McFadden 2) Hendershot 3) Fryfogle
  17. It's not any single thing. The voice is different, but so is Tom Petty's. And, I love Tom Petty. Could be as simple as he broke out a little before my time. So, I never really listened to him growing up.
  18. Just a lot of general talk about the irresponsibility of it, the potential impacts to the tournament goal, and that this wasn't the first time this year some of these guys had been in trouble. Jim Coyle, who was at the game commented about Stewart seeming to sulk throughout warmups. One interesting thing that Bozich brought up was that the players room in pairs. So, the math indicates at least one of the 5 went out to party while his roommate didn't.
  19. Daily Commute Musical Update Bod Dylan has sold more than 125 million records. In 2011, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him as the 2nd greatest artist in music history. I can't stand Bob Dylan's music. He's Immediate Channel Change material for me. So, you can imagine how blessed I was to get a daily double of Dylan tunes during my commute today. One going to work and another coming home (shown below in order). The old fingers got a workout changing the channels. Still got some speed in them old bones as well.
  20. Mods. Can we set up a 35 and over forum?
  21. I'm 12. At least according to my wife.
  22. Hey now. Your breaking news last night started this whole mess. You should be required to read it all. Every last bit of it.
