  1. Well, I'm torn. I don't like the idea of a Conference Championship game when there aren't divisions. That said, the Big Ten's current divisions are not equitable. Something has to be done
  2. Does that move get made if the 49ers win the Super Bowl?
  3. I don't think Bates or Lander will either. Geronimo has a chance to become a classic 3 and D type guy, one with a ridiculous amount of athleticism.
  4. Daily Commute Musical Update Heard this one today. This song is Carload of People Approved and has a special place in my heart We have been semi-regular visitors to Disney World as the kids grew up. During the fall, Disney has an annual Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. In addition to a lot of good eats and drinks, they have free concerts. The festival lasts for the better part of 3 months and 25-30 'name' musical acts perform 3 mini-concerts a night for 2-3 nights in a row. So, about 10 years ago, when my daughter was 4-5 years old, we were there on a night Sugar Ray was performing. We managed to finagle seats in the 2nd row on the right-hand side of the stage. I had to hold my daughter up so she could see, but was she really into the performance...smiling, laughing, and dancing in my arms. Since we were in the 2nd row, she caught the attention of the guitar player on that side of the stage. He started interacting with her (pointing, waving, etc.). That got her even more into it. To make a long story short, when the band played this song, lead singer Mark McGrath meandered over to our side of the stage, and the guitar player directed him to my daughter. At that point, McGrath serenaded my daughter for a full verse of the song, and as he walked away told her she was cute. To make an already special moment even more memorable, the guitar player gave my daughter his guitar pick at the end of the show. How could I not like this song after that.
  5. Both those guys are in the top 3 players at their positions I've seen in my lifetime. Peds were against the rules. I get it. But, so is a pitcher doctoring the ball. Yet, Gaylord Perry is in the Hall and he is nowhere close to the pitcher Clemens was. Peds were so prevalent during that time, it's impossible to properly 'punish' all the guilty parties. There are players already in the Hall just as guilty as those two when it comes to Peds, and who were not as good on the field. Clemens and Bonds are being held to an unfair standard compared to their peers.
  6. So...you're saying having a bunch of strippers at the BBQ smacking balls would be a bad thing.
  7. Not sure. He's about 15 years younger than me, so he would have missed Crum's heyday.
  8. I have a co-worker who is a UL fan. Was talking to him yesterday about the situation, and that was BEFORE the announcement about the trustee meeting today. He had still not jumped off the Mack bandwagon and thought there was still a future for him at UL. Be interesting to see if all the news coming out last night changed how he sees it.
  9. David Ortiz getting elected while Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens don't is an indictment on Hall of Fame voting.
  10. Crap. I forgot I was going to have you guys pick via PM. Oh well, we'll try to remember to do it that way for Super Bowl
  11. Bengals @ Chiefs (-7) 49ers @ Rams (-3.5)
  12. Conference Championship Spreads Bengals @ Chiefs (-7) 49ers @ Rams (-3.5)
  13. Standings after the Divisional Round. I got hot too late.
  14. Daily Commute Music Update I'm not sure there is another musical act that makes my ears bleed more than Coldplay. This one, along with every other Coldplay song I run across, falls into the Immediate Channel Change category. Edit: I've never actually heard anyone say they LIKE Coldplay.
  15. If you were alive in the 70's & 80's you should remember the Doublemint Gum commercials.
  16. We may have reached the end of an era. Dicki V shutting it down for the year due to his vocal issues and lymphoma. Whatever you think of his style, he has always been a great ambassador for the sport. There is still hope that he can come back next season. https://sports.yahoo.com/dick-vitale-wont-call-rest-235344429.html?src=rss
  17. Okay. On the commute home today from work, this song comes on the radio. I should note that I have satellite radio, so I can get about any genre I want and switch channels like I do wives. Anyway, this song comes on and I start to change the channel, and then thought 'You know what. I think i kinda want to listen to it.' And, I did. The whole song. And, I enjoyed it. Why do I bring this up? I do because there is no way in hell I'm listening to this song if someone is in the car with me. it got me thinking, what other songs are out there that fit in that category. So, I've decided to make it a habit of posting songs I hear on the radio coming home from work, and giving those songs one of these three categories. Immediate channel change Only if I'm in car by myself Carload of people approved As mentioned, this one fell into the highlighted category. So, I ask HSN. Would you vote the same? Or, do you have a song that would also fall into that category?
  18. Not saying Lander or Bates dont have potential, but Geronimo has more potential than either of them. JG is going to play in the NBA.
  19. Living close to, and working in, Louisville, I actually want them to be good. Not because I like them, because I dont. But when they are better than UK, those are fun times in this area. Nothing gets a UK fan's drawers in a wad more than UL being better than them.
  20. Given his reputation, and their recent 'issues', if Louisville were to hire Pearl, that would be the biggest middle finger ever given to the NCAA. Actually, it would be kind of fun to watch it unfold.
  21. Race's time to stop shooting 3's was the first day of practice.
  22. Has to be the best playoff weekend in NFL history. All 4 games were unbelievable.
  23. So, did KC use it all up this week and come out flat against Cincy next week?
