I have a hard time seeing both Fife and Lewis. I've always like Fife, but I think Lewis makes more sense from an X's and O's standpoint, Then you have Hunter as #1 recruiter. That would make Fife kind of a 3rd wheel, which may not be what he is looking for.
You know his preferences?

I agree. I just don't see _____ going outside the family
Sounds like a UK family reunion, right Blue?

I had forgotten about that from the initial recruitment until you brought it up again.

That would be news to me. All the diehard UK fans that I know, want him.
Regardless, I would take him. KBJ now has a chip on his shoulder. The land of unicorns and the NBA lottery have evaporated in front of him just as the bluegrass did. Being surrounded by familiar faces in his home state would do him good.
Pass the catsup!
Here we go again.

Are you hearing anything about Franklin? I understand if you don't want to share.

At first I did not think we would have Fife and Lewis both but could we end up Hunter, Turner, Lewis and Fife with Roberts as DOBO. thinking it could happen
That would be amazing if it happens. 2 options for next HC some day.
Edit: Wouldn't that be a demotion for Roberts?

I would say Ole Roy deserves his own thread.
Or 2.

So if you keep Kenya. There are 2 spots for Roberts, Lewis (if he is even being considered), and Tucker?

Sage is on board...which is always a good thing!
The worst part about hiring a new coach is you have to wait 6 months for Midnight Madness or Hoosier Hysteria, then another couple of months for games to start.
Patience has never been one of my strengths.

Worry is what drives most of the posters on this board. The sky is always falling.
Anxiety isn't about worrying too much, it is about caring too much.

SMH. Yeah the only reasonable explanation for someone not totally on board with this hire is that they're a hater.
SMH. I've read enough of your posts to have you pegged.

He's way more proven than Juwan Howard was. Why don't you give him a chance?

Disappointed when the news broke yesterday, but things I am looking forward to that I am sure are just repeats of other posts. My only concerns are really of not coaching/recruiting in college previously.
My Positives:
1. Offense minded Coach who won't ignore defense - Obviously Crean's biggest issue.
2. His teams in the NBA did really well and we have all seen/read the players interviews who love him - this might be Archie's biggest failure.
3. He is an IU guy who played 4 years for Coach Knight. I don't consider that a criteria for the job, but I do think it will help him. Not only is he an IU guy, he was raised an Indiana guy.
4. Going to have Matta around to help when needed. I think this was a really smart move.
I am looking forward to seeing how this thing goes.

What an incredible amount of assumptions you make so flippantly, and with no real evidence, in only three sentences.
There were more sentences, just lacked punctuation.

This solidifies IU as a program living in the past.
Actually, we are a football school now. Basketball just a time filler until spring scrimmage.

Not sure why all the hand wringing about this.
CAM is charged with winning games and returning the program to an upper echelon one.
There has been plenty of complaining on here that we haven't won enough in the last 20 years (legitimate complaint, imo)
As long as there is no cheating or unscrupulous behavior by the AD, coaching staff, players and anyone else associated with the program, are people really going to care how we go about winning?
I would love the program to be at the point where we are discussed as legitimate contenders both for conference championships and on the national scene. When we get to that point, whether it has been accomplished by recruiting one year players or 3-4 year "career players", is anyone on here going to come on and complain?
Probably so.

Maybe Garcia is not a good example, but I would take Romeo any day.
And Eric Gordon. I get the hesitation with Vonleh as he didn't seem to buy into IU, but Romeo and EJ certainly did and have continued to do so since.

But it has showed lately that teams that wins the championships don't have one and done players on them. Also if it is just one OAD player that is alright but I don't ever want us to be built around OAD players like UK and Duke.
I started the post referring to Carmelo Anthony and Anthony Davis, but decided to try to keep the example closer to home.

To all of the OAD haters, you wouldn't take Dawson Garcia for 1 year if it meant winning a National Championship?

I think he was taking an extreme example to make his point. That's how I took it, anyway.
If you are referring to my post, you are 100% correct.
