Very happy for Buss.  He came up in less than ideal circumstances and will graduate from college.  That's a considerable achievement.

If we are being honest, your environment and surroundings have much more to do with your makeup and achievements than many people want to admit.  Of course there is a personal responsibility component but environment is a factor, and a big one.  For most of us, we should be thankful that we grew up in the greatest country and with a positive environment.

Living in a county where it is considered half the people are functionally illiterate, (confirmed by some school teachers I know) this is very much the case. How can one learn to read when they have no one to read bed time stories to them or help them with there school work, so the cycle continues generation after generation. Very sad, but worse is when family pressure belittles someone's achievements by saying a child needs to stop trying to be better than them. Yes it happens! Parenting is the number one problem!
