seeding

OK, we all have theories on what it will take for our Hoosiers to make "The Dance".

My question is, when we beat Illinois, Rutgers and then win the BIG tournament, where would IU be seeded?

With the horrible stretch we had, I think 7 or 8 might be our ceiling, what say you?

A 14 loss team isn’t getting a 5 seed

Yes, like it or not, that number of total losses is still going to be a factor.  If we win the BTT with every game ending up like tonight's.....maybe,  MAYBE a 6.

I would actually be thrilled with a 12.  The probable 4 and 5 seeds don't scare me at all.  Easiest route for us to Sweet 16.  We are not beating a 1, so I do not want to be on 8/9 line.

Would they really put the winner of a major conference tournament that low?

The best thing for this IU team may be one in which they make the dance and have an opportunity to win a big game and steal the spot of a #3 or #4 seed.

No. That's the weird thing.  We are probably better off winning 1 or 2 games in the BTT than we are winning it.  We win it, or even make the final and we are on the 8/9 line.  Mark it down.

So in this scenario, we end up 21-14 with what would likely be 10+ quad 1 wins and still no quad 3 or 4 losses..... honestly probably a 7.

I find that likely.

It's not out of the realm of possibility given the committee making the logistics work (lol?), margin of victory, strength of opponents, and so on the seed could be pushed a little higher.

Next up!  Anyone know any good puns with the Rutgers roster?
