The Daily Hoosier
What will it be like calling IU basketball games in an empty arena? How strange was it to call the Penix pylon stretch with no fans in the stands? I talked to IU radio legend Don Fischer about his strange new reality. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/for-iu-radio-legend-don-fischer-calling-games-in-2020-is-an-experience-like-no-other/ 1
FKIM01
My favorite in-person game experience was sitting behind Don Fischer for a game. I had a friend who really wanted to take his two boys to an IU game, but it simply wasn't in his budget. I saw the the NIT game against Arkansas was $20/seat and general admission. I called my buddy and we went. Had a fantastic time. Great seats and Don even talked to us and posed for pics when he had a long break at halftime. Mother Bear's pizza after the game. My buddy said his boys still talk about going to that game. So glad they got to meet a legend while experiencing Assembly Hall.
mrflynn03
I love Don Fischer. Been listening to him call games since the early 90's. Alot of games, if I'm watching, I will mute and turn on the radio.
