  1. Thanks for not publishing his address. Maybe you could text a few of your comrades and ask them why in the world they thought this was a good idea.

  2. I am guessing that somewhere in a journalist's training it says that it is public record and thus you should publish it. In my opinion there is always room for basic human decency to prevail. Hell, if someone cannot do it for coach Knight, then do it for the neighbors.

  3. IMO, I don't think journalism and human decency coincide...….

  4. Well said. Does anyone remember the Iowa game when Coach came out from behind the Iowa bench and grabbed Alford, I swear Steve had to change his undies after that . Knight scared him to death. Just another little way to get in the opponents head. I think the back to Assembly Hall happens this year. Lots of moving parts behind the scenes trying to make this a reality.

  6. I do too. My one wish, the one thing I would like to see is him getting a send off in Assembly Hall. I was a senior when he was fired, I was out and about during the "riot", and I was there at Dunn Meadow. Dunn Meadow was nice but with what that guy did for the school, I would really like to see him get a send off at Assembly Hall. No need to talk, no need for a speech, just walk him out on the floor again and let the crowd do the rest. And for the younger people who never got a chance to see a game while Knight was coaching, there has not been a presence in the hall since where you can feel the crowd just anticipating him walking out onto the floor. Every. Single. Game. I caught the tail end of his career but it was just another level when he was here.

  10. 100 percent correct. Anything to sell a story for many writers. (Not TDH). To quote coach " most of us learn to write in 2nd grade, then move on to better things"

  11. Maybe someone else has more info but I did hear Keady has been working with Knight to get his old friend back inside Assembly Hall. While at Purdue i could not stand Keady but after he left I was able to talk with him few times and hes ok in my book. Except when they show him on TV behind the PU bench then he back to being the enemy

  12. With the contracts both PG and Kawhi have, it allows them both to sign a supermax or whatever it is as early as 2021 to the MAX money that is available. Smart by them, risky for the Clippers to put all their eggs in these two especially with the amount of draft picks that were traded for PG. BUT as long as the Clippers don't fail(I would say the Clippers next two seasons would be viewed as a failure if they do not make at least the WCF's), I could easily see them both resigning with the Clippers in 2021.

  13. The obvious choice for me would be Portillos. A Chicago institution. Reasonable prices and good burgers, Chicago dogs, Italian beef, and if you can find one with a Barnelli's pasta attached, some pretty awesome pasta dishes (the Peasant Pasta and the Chicken Diavolo are both excellent). Very comfortable place to take kids too. And their chocolate cake is killer...

  14. Maybe RMK coming back might be what is needed for this program to turn the page. I don't really believe in curses but it seems like after we fired RMK pretty much everything after that has bee disaster.

  17. But there is a difference between average Joe and Bob Knight. I was hoping the "journalists" would choose being decent vs whatever code they think they have to live by.

  18. I will give another example. As I own rental properties. And not one week goes by that I do not get mail requests from people wanting to buy one or more of my properties. They have my name, and address to the house that I actually live in. Along, of course with the addresses of my rentals. It's public information. Anyone can get it. Either by checking the internet, or going to the county court house. Zillow, Redfin, and others are sources that have current property values all over the country. Might add. I checked on Dakich's house. Very nice. And sale date coincides with his tweet, and another tweet he made public about having to put a new a/c unit in his new house. Lastly. We all were amazed when we saw pictures of Tom Crean's house in B-town. Talk about a house. WOW. I didn't think they made them that big in B-town. I don't recall people getting upset about that when it was posted on Hoosier Sports Nation. I just find it duplicitous of Dakich who is a media type to come off against another media person, in the very same town he makes a living.... in this day and age, when all that information is so easily found on the internet.

  20. Dakich is gong off today on the Media for giving out the address for Coach Knight. I cold not agree more with his assessment. Thank you to TDH for having the decency to not publish that info.

  21. I'm not ashamed to admit it: I cried like a baby when our other dog died (sister of the one in my previous post). I'll never be one to say "it's just a dog/cat/pet". They have more of an impact on our lives than we realize.

  23. I feel this way about Matt Painter. Absolutely hate Purdue, but got to meet & talk to Painter due to some work related things and came away really liking the guy. Still don't like Purdue (never will) but kind of root for Painter. It's very odd.

  24. I wish nothing but the best for Coach Knight. I have not been a fan of his for many years but you can't overlook what he did for Indiana and for what Indiana did for him. In many ways neither him nor the University has been the same since his firing. I pray that the door is finally going to close on that horrible situation. Coach Knight needs it, the University needs it and the fans who love him and the University deserve it. If he comes back he can finally be placed at the top of the mountain where he deserves to be. Welcome home Coach. Hoosier Hospitality is no accident!

  25. This is basically the new model. Players are moving to shorter contracts and teams are planning ahead for them. It does put more pressure on the Clippers.

  27. Yep...I remember that moment like it was yesterday. Coach Knight being Coach Knight. Never a warm and fuzzy guy. The softest I ever saw Coach was when he was referring to his son Pat as an IU player and said, "I'm his biggest fan!"....choking back emotions.

  28. It has something to do with once you have been in the league 10 years you can sign an even bigger contract. His next contract will be almost 50 million a year.

  31. So this critter in need showed up a couple weeks before last Christmas. Did everything we could to bring her back to health. Had a good 6 months and suddenly lost her today. We have others but this loss is hitting my wife hard.
