  1. Players can develop in the NBA. Shocker I know to some of the cavemen in here. Anyways, Mason Miller, when is he committing?

  2. He's currently working on the space-time continuum to get Race those 53 minutes per game. After the breakthrough, time will be meaningless. The word "when" will sunset.

  3. Thats why I have such a hard time with the overly PC society we live in. In the heat of the moment things get said but had Luka said a racist slur his head would be demanded on a silver platter. Most of us want equality and equal justice yet the double standard exist on who says what. In today's world a straight Christian white male has the weakest voice and the most to lose when the open their big mouth.

  5. Not sure if anybody ever listens, but I always like to share when Donald McNeil is on The Daily. He speaks about some of the things we've discussed on here: - He speculates that the flu season will be very mild because of all the restrictions in effect due to COVID: washing hands, social distancing, travel restrictions, etc. Cases in the southern hemisphere (where it's flu season) are way down. Australia is reporting 95% less flu cases. So, good news....he still recommends getting a flu shot to be safe though. - He and many immunologists are not worried about the guy from Hong Kong w

  8. To be clear, I am 100% for all people to be treated fairly and equally. I empathize with difficulties African Americans have faced and continue to face. But, I am very glad he owned it and apologized. Race should not be uttered in a derogatory way in any direction. What he may not have realized—and hopefully does now—is it diminishes the own African American cause by ripping on someone else’s race. I feel similarly about the argument that African Americans own the N word now and are free to use it. Or that race baiting is not a two way street such that a black can say something about a w

  9. IMHO. If a guy is unhappy with his time.... there is a solution. Work harder in practice. And prove to your coach why you should be getting more PT.

  11. TJD played one pandemic-shortened college season. Can we all let the kid develop a little before making proclamations about his NBA career? Back to Mason - he is just what Archie needs on this team. Archie knows he needs shooters. Lets get him to Bloomington.

  13. They played 22 different starters.. we were incredibly gassed by the end of 2nd q. I simply don't have enough depth to combat that. Roncalli also didn't bring any FR.. at one point I had 5 FR in defensively. I wish we could play Roncalli every week. We will improve so much from this game.

  19. When was the last time we had a mid season transfer into the program? I get not filling them all, but we've carried 2 open scholarships for 2 season now. Why can't we at least fill one of them. Go after a grad transfer or take a shot on a kid which still leaves one open for a just in case situation.

  20. I’m not surprised they haven’t offered yet. They waited until during the junior year to offer for Phinisee, Leal, and Galloway. I’d expect one to come in the next few months.

  22. Def does no doubt. Obviously Carmel is humongous but I knew plenty of kids that started at Carmel but transferred to Brebeuf/Chatard/Cathedral/etc... one of my best friends is from Carmel but played football at cathedral. He told me they 100% recruited guys that would’ve gone to IPS schools. Now who fits the bill for their tuition? Good ole donors I’m sure.

  28. Certainly was a defining moment in my life. I did a daily news show on my high school radio station. It was rip an read off a teletype. And I was allowed to leave study hall to prepare and do the show. One day (Nov.22) the study hall teacher comes up to me and tells me to get down to station, well before the normal time. I get there and the teacher/station manager tells me that President Kennedy has been shot. Get on right now ! As I am reading.... the teacher/station manager hands me a fresh teletype. I read it on the air.... not knowing what it was about. Kennedy was dead !

  29. Just because I brought up WWI and this thread may invite history buffs, this is one of the most fascinating stories about the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand called Blueprint for Armageddon by Dan Carlin. Yes, it's 3 hours, but listen to the first 30 minutes. It's insane that the assassination attempt was blundered so many times on that day, and after danger appeared to be avoided it was pure coincidence that brought Ferdinand to his fate. To think (Carlin theorizes and explains), WWI could've possibly been avoided if it wasn't for the assassin's dumb luck.

  30. A few pages back I asked for documentaries/podcast recommendation for the Spanish Flu. I listened to a few and 1918 sure was an interesting time in history. I'm not sure it rivals the top two but it's worth mentioning. Not only was there a pandemic, it marked the end of WWI and pushed us into the Roaring 20s, one of the most successful economic times in our history. It was interesting that in this podcast, a historian who wrote a book about it, said that the Spanish Flu is one of those defining moments in history that we don't talk about. 39. I like the idea of one extra and always having a frosh/soph developing big that isn't expecting minutes those early years. Not being oversigned raises a big issue. HSN will see traffic decline with no conversations about Creaning. Then comes the loss in ad revenue. Next @Colonialcrester isn't taking his international vacations and @bluegrassIUis showing up at our houses for free meals. Careful what you wish for!

  40. If we get hit with a tons of injuries #12 and #13 guys on the bench aren't going to be the difference makers....but to me having those 2 extra scholarships available allows for instant impact reclassification guys or mid-season transfers,etc...which will be more and more common in coming years. I'd rather have extra.

  41. I personally love the strategy. Archie said he'd treat IU basketball scholarships like gold and I think it's already paying dividends. Always room for a late decider (or early entrant) to jump in and if not, there are fewer quality kids becoming dissatisfied with fighting for minutes.

  42. Per ESPNU this afternoon, the B1G and Pac 12 have joined forces with the NCAA to put pressure on the Power 5 conferences electing to still play to change course and cancel the Fall season. I hope the 3 conferences play, suffer no major outbreaks, and show that life moves forward.

  43. I don't know. Let's assume the following PT is slotted for 'Bigs': 40 available minutes at the 5 40 available minutes at the 4 20 available minutes for a Big to swing down to the 3 That's 100 minutes available. Race plays 52 minutes a game Duncomb plays 34 minutes a game That only leaves 14 minutes combined for Miller and Kaufman And, if TJD decides not to go pro, he's going to play 93 minutes a game, so things really get tight.

  48. And no one is talking about practice. Kids are good enough to get a scholarship. Maybe not good enough to get much PT. However, I would much rather have a scholarship player in my practices.... than say a walk on, or even a guy stolen from the baseball team.

  49. I didn’t think we’d win the series but it’s inexcusable to get swept. The Heat are good but not THAT good IMO. We got outplayed by guys like Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, and a past-his-prime Goran Dragic. McMillan doesn’t seem like he’s the answer. Very mediocre in his career.
