  1. He is doing us a solid. Put resources elsewhere. It is not about any one player. Knowing we need to move on is a victory.

  3. You sound like me as a kid. At 16 I went through the windshield of my friends station wagon, doing 50 on the roads around Lake Monroe, as he lost control and went straight into an oak tree in someone's front yard. Both of us went through the windshield. If we'd been wearing seat belts we'd be dead, as the station wagon completely folded in on itself. I woke up in an ambulance on the way to the hospital, ended up with stitches in my scalp but no other injuries (besides the concussion). My friend broke his arm going over the steering wheel -- he told me how the owner of the house was sitting on his porch as we rolled up his lawn.... Also got hit by an IU campus bus when riding my bike as a teenager, broke my ribs. I taped them up myself so I didn't have to miss any hockey. My mom noticed me taping myself up one day....

  9. 52 here and a couple of years ago I had a very similar nagging issue on my right ankle where it attached in front to my shin. Super painful, but I couldnā€™t really stop walking. At that point, we were still going into the office. So LOTS of walking to and from the sub every day and up stairs. I got to the point where I was dragging my foot. I finally went in and it was a similar thing - stay off your foot. So, I got crutches and every day did the 10 minute walk to the sub. Then up and down the subway stairs. Then another 10 minute walk from the sub to my office in Manhattan - on crutches. At the end of the day, it was the reverse. Crutches to the sub, then crutches back home in Brooklyn. I was signed up for the NYC Marathon that year and really worried that I wouldnā€™t be able to run it. I used the crutches for like six weeks and didnā€™t run or train at all. About a week before the marathon, my ankle was finally feeling better. I was able to stop using the crutches and walk normally. The day before the marathon I said f#*k it and decided I was going to run the marathon. I did fine until about mile 8. By mile 13, I didnā€™t think I could make it. By mile 18, I was still going b/c Iā€™m stubborn, but I was having to take a couple of walking breaks. I was running the marathon with my wife and felt bad for holding her up, so told her to go ahead without me at mile 21. By mile 24 as I entered Central Park, I just said f*$k it again and took off running towards the finish. I couldnā€™t really feel my ankle or foot anymore anyway. Finished in like 4:30 and had to go back on crutches for another four weeks. Ended up being a torn lamination/stretched tendon issue. Now when I see someone limping I always feel very bad for them.

  13. You Bear fans are hilarious. Your team made the playoffs. Doesnā€™t matter how. They canā€™t win if they arenā€™t playing. There will be 18 teams that would love to be in the Bearsā€™ spot.

  14. I hope he has an agent that speaks Chinese....or maybe Italian because that is where he will end up. Not that there is anything wrong with that...certainly better than me but no chance this kid sniffs the league. Did the kid get a degree...that would be a travesty if he didnā€™t.

  16. Moving forward, this team is moving the right way. Big time transfers coming in, another strong recruiting class and another year to learn and develop. What do you think the offseason storylines are? For me: 1) What can Wellman and staff do. Beleive it or not he was a big get and never could really work with the kids like he can post covid. Many insiders will say he was an upgrade....and, those that left for Alabama were considered the best. 2) Personally never a big fan of Wommack. He showed improvments from year one, but many questionable calls throughout the year. IU did have a great D, but today showed that he can't "disguise" well with uptempo D's. This hire for a new D Coordinator is going to be huge! Huge! 3)Can Sheridan open up the playbook more after reflecting on year one and having a different off season? He will have three 4 star QB's in the room. 4) With the new transfer rules and eligibility- Who stays and who goes? Go IU

  19. Maybe if TY gives a cheap hometown discount but there are 6-7 other guys who are just going to hit their prime that I think Ballard would be more interested in. I'm targeting Robinson and Godwin but here's the list. JuJu Smith-Schuster, 24 Chris Godwin, 25 Curtis Samuel, 25 Corey Davis, 26 Rashard Higgins, 26 Will Fuller, 27 Kenny Golladay, 27 Allen Robinson, 28 Sammy Watkins, 28 T.Y. Hilton, 31 Marvin Jones, 31 A.J. Green, 33 Antonio Brown, 33 Larry Fitzgerald, 38

  20. This is weird saying this as Bears fan first but if the Colts can figure out situation at QB next year....and spend the $ they have available on what has to be the greatest WR free agency class ever the Colts are positioned very well for the long haul even if they lose this week. Why wouldn't the Colts go after Allen Robinson or Chris Godwin or any of the other 10 that are available. Because if they don't I know Houston will.

  21. I honestly would have never dreamed TB would make it much less become a force. He had a crazy motor. Just thought he was too stiff and wouldn't be able to guard. Pretty sure Dame just called Curry mortal the day before. Opps.

  22. As for the Bears, I really don't have much to say. They got beat and survive to play again. Not a fan of Mitch. I do like their chances against the Saints. For the Colts, Reich seems to be out thinking himself quite a bit. This bringing Brissett in all the time on 3rd and short is driving me crazy. Don't know what to think of the Buffalo game.

  23. Bears were ahead in almost every statistical category on offense except one. Red Zone efficiency. Packers went 4-4 and we went 1-5. Translation. They have an elite QB and we don't. Won't ever apologize for making the playoffs so you get in and see what happens. It's not like the Saints are unbeatable. Regarding Colts. Give JT the ball 30 more times vs Bills Rush D and see what happens. Tough matchup for sure because the Bills are playing better than anyone in the league...including the Chiefs.

  32. Haha, I know, right! Was watching on NBATV and was sure he would. That move he made was exactly what he should be doing in that situation, work his way to the elbow and either take the midrange or get to the hoop.

  33. UM finished on a 9-0 run to finish the half and is up 43-29/ They said this is the first game this year that UM has played a ranked team. At least the parts I have seen UM is a lot better than I thought they would be. I had them like 6th or 7th in the league but right now they will be better than that.

  46. 1) It will be interesting to see what Wellman's focus is. Injury prevention, speed/quickness, strength. What kind of ideas he brings to the table and how he goes about getting everybody better. I'm really excited about him having a full offseason to work with everyone. 2) I'm big on the Jason Jones bandwagon. I thought our safety play was miles ahead of where it was last year, he's our highest paid defensive assistant which I think shows how much we wanted him to come here. He's familiar with Allen's system, and he's had a year on the staff to get familiar with things. Then we can hire a good LB coach to replace Wommack. 3) I think a big part of it is our offensive line. Hiller is going to really have to earn his money the next couple years. We have a lot of talent coming back, and with Carpenter coming in next year, we should start to push teams off the line. Maybe not a team like OSU, but we should be able to run the ball better. I feel like our offensive line should have been better than what it was this year. With the talent we will have the next couple years, that needs to turn into a strength. I think Sheridan got lulled into having a passing offense because that was all we could do for the first 6 or 7 games of the year. I was disappointed with his lack of creativity to help make up for the deficit of our offensive line. The OL didn't help the play calling, and the play calling didn't help the OL. For the most part, I don't think Sheridan really moved the needle one way or the other this year. Overall, not great, not bad. Today was exceptionally bad though. No excuse for not running the ball more today with how well we were doing it and with Tuttle being hurt. This was his first year calling plays, so hopefully he can improve going into next year. 4) Hopefully everybody enjoyed this season enough that we don't lose anybody who will really hurt. Not sure what to expect from the seniors, but I would guess not many of them will be back. I kind of cringed today when they said Crider was going to finish his masters this spring. I was hoping he'd come back, but eventually you get to the point where it isn't worth it. If you already have your masters, is it really worth coming back? Otherwise, I'd love to see a couple more transfers come in that could contribute right away. Another OL would be nice, a DL would be great.
