A friend of mine went back and had an AMF - she said it was so disgustingly sweet that it made her teeth want to fall out. Haha. Oh, back in the day - the sweeter the better. I remember thinking Oliver Wine was remarkable. 🤮3 points

That's true now, but earlier in his career there were lots of times he gave selective effort. I don't struggle to believe his first couple years he didn't give consistent effort off of the court. That said, I think he gives it now and he's really vaulted his legacy. If he comes back and we were to have one of our better seasons since the 90s I think he could really cement his legacy.3 points

No you are archaic and are OK with taking advantage of people. These athletes provide a lot of money to the schools and NCAA. They should get something in return other than an education. It’s archaic thoughts and let’s not change things because that wasn’t the way in my times that don’t progress us as a society.2 points

I'm always going to skew things positively @Seeking6 and the reality is... if we struggle next year, Mercers seat should be hot. But.. this isn't our basketball program. We aren't a power and to be real, it was absolutely a major accomplishment for us to not have a season like this in so long.2 points

This aligns with what I was noticing. Under CAM, there were several games that had the appearance of Trace throwing his hands up (proverbially) in frustration. Those moments were obvious as his effort appeared to diminish from that specific point in those games. It only fare to think that could also translate to off the court work. I feel it was all frustration based. Lets see if there was anyone else frustrated under the CAM tenure.... I am sure there were some.... OH, IT WAS EVERYONE!2 points

Been there many times. Can remember getting bags full of the quality rejects from the Heath plant.2 points

Not me...I'll hold out til the bitter end! Until XJ drives up in...er Race Thompson motors into my driveway with the other 12 scholarship players demanding I produce a bag full of money, or they'll burn their IU warmups on my porch and all transfer to Purdue on the strength of a Purdue Pete bobblehead deal! 😉2 points

also, to be clear, my source was not saying TJD was a bad kid or trouble maker. just that he didn't set a great example.2 points

I would bet that there are a lot of older fans thinking about stopping watching college sports. I have pretty much stopped watching the NBA except for the Pacers and don't watch them as often.2 points

Don’t look now, but my Twins Are in first place. Swept both the Pale Hose and the Tigers and I thought, okay let’s see how they do outside of their division. Took 2 of 3 on the road v the Rays this weekend. Aiight1 point

Tucker struggles T1. Mathison hits a 3 run bomb (hit one yesterday too). 3-2 IU early. This one was about 415ft and it got out quick.1 point

As thought, Northwestern's Pete Nance enters the portal and declares for the NBA. From the article, it sounds like he won't be returning to the Wildcats if he pulls out of the draft.1 point

I had no clue of people's obsession with our 1st round pick lol Giving our DRAFT CLASS a lower grade because of a trade that happened 14 months ago is HILARIOUS and imo shows utter incompetence and laziness.1 point

Umm.. yeah. But in 2020 we were going to be veryyyy good again, we had already beaten ECU at ECU and had a couple of other good Ws. We didn't just replace a ton of pitching from last year--- this has been happening for 2 or 3 years-- Stiever, Milto, Herrin, Litwicki, Gordon, Sommer, Brown, Bierman, Saalfrank, Lloyd. Then Justin Parker left for South Carolina. But.. won the B1G in 2019, we were going to finish top 3 in 2020, 2021 we faltered at the end last year.. and we still tied for 4th last year at 26-18. This year has been rough, no doubt. The recruiting in 22, 23, 24, and 25 has mostly been very good. I think as long as we finish the season strong we should feel "ok".1 point

I’m not giving the NCAA any breaks because they refused to adapt when the writing was on the wall, before and after, the NIL was passed. I do wonder: are the NCAA’s hands tied? With each state having different legislation, can they successfully write or enforce ANY NIL rules?1 point

Bump. Last nights fights did not disappoint on espn. Muhammad Ali's grandson KOed a guy about a minute in, to go to 5-0. The other undercard was really good. Then the main event went the distance with 2 little guys that were both undefeated. The young American Shakur Stevenson took the unification title bout against Oscar Valdez to claim lightweight champ. Watching these 2 little speedsters was like watching Mayweather and Pacquiao in their prime. Stevenson was so good and almost unhittable.1 point

I agree with the point you're making but disagree with the timeline. 30 years ago? No. Then they would've been 3-4 years in college then a high draft choice. 20 years ago they would've been straight from HS or one and done.1 point

I don’t often get inside info (which is to say, pretty much never) but I do have a solid source on this and just talked with him, it will be Jordy in this recruiting coordinator role. Stakes are low here since it’s not a recruit so I don’t feel the risk of being skewered if wrong but 99.9% take it to the bank on Hulls returning1 point

I still think we're going to see a bunch of longer tenured college coaches start to leave the game. I don't mean guys like Boeheim in their 70's, those guys leaving are inevitable, but I mean some coaches in their 50's and early 60's. Why would anyone want to deal with not only having to re-recruit your team every year but also have to do it based on how much NIL money you can get them? Being a coach at this level was already hard enough. I'm not saying players don't deserve money, just saying why would a coach want to deal with that if you're at a level where you could maybe go to the NBA and coach or move into broadcasting?1 point

Yeah.... you bring in a guy for $400k/year, how do you expect studs already on your team to not want the same?1 point
