  1. Brady changed organization for the first time in his career last year, in a weird Covid year with no training camp, and had a dominant season and won the Super Bowl. Yes, you could say others have been at his level throughout his career. That has more to do with the QBs in this era than it does Brady and if anything it underscores how great he has been. So many HOFers have come and gone throughout his career but he has remained a constant for two decades - from his time as a game managing winner like Mac Jones is today, to his time as an MVP caliber player in the middle of his career, and then this last third where he has removed any question of who the GOAT is. Football is a team game, who is around you is a factor for everyone and Brady is of course no different. But he took advantage of what was around him better than anyone else ever has. Peyton always had multiple first round skill players (and always had multiple HOFers for most of his career) around him and also played for a HOF coach.... two titles.
  2. Tom Brady is 44 years old and leads the league in air yards right now.... Can't believe a former QB would knock a QB for playing to her personnel that he didn't pick (and is partly why he left NE).
  3. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/32472417/tom-brady-three-hall-fame-careers-case-enshrinement-seven-year-era-patriots-bucs You could cut it into thirds and make a strong case for three HOF careers.
  4. So is Tom Brady the greatest DB coach of all time if we are going to credit him with how DBs in Tampa and New England have played during his tenure?
  5. I've personally never seen an under thrown deep ball that the defender who had his back to the ball was stationary. Generally the defender doesn't know it's under thrown and is continuing to go down field - that's not a defender being stationary and getting run into, it's a defender trying to force a receiver away from a ball because the defender doesn't know where it is. Do you have an example where the defender was just stationary and holding his place on the field?
  6. Then that sounds like a blown call by current rules. No need for a rule change, just call things correctly.
  7. I didn't see that particular play and I know they miss calls on PI a lot, but my general point is that saying a receiving coming back for the ball and getting hit by a defender not looking should absolutely continue to be PI.
  8. It's not a penalty now if the defender plays the ball, the reason it gets called is because the defense is playing the receiver. Would you say on a slant it's okay for a defender to just get in the way of a receiver and not even attempt to play the ball? That's the door you're opening if you get the rule change you're asking for.
  9. Shouldn't really matter - you two I think will play for the rights to first loser either way 🙃
  10. Brutal. Hard to not feel like the missed facemask wasn't the difference, but I'm sure you could find calls in several games that cost everyone points throughout the week. Just more visibility in the last game not the week on primetime haha.
  11. I am worried that missed facemask will cost me. You also caught me on JTs bye week.
  12. @btownqb you are welcome for the bye @5fouls stop doubting me @Seeking6 (posting this still down 1 but the comeback even without JT is like my title run... inevitable)
  13. I actually remember that play, it was an incredible shot. That was my first real introduction to the Zellers. The other three for me are: Kick 6 (2013 Iron Bowl). My dad is from Alabama, he's one of five siblings and they're split between Auburn and Bama. My grandfather was an architect who went to Auburn and designed parts of the football stadium. Auburn, football in particular, is a connection to my dad and his family. That game tops them all (in terms of Auburn) and I was at the 2010 National Championship Game. 2004 World Series - honestly many games from that run, but the ground out back to Foulk I still remember going from sitting on the floor flat on my ass to ~30-35 inches in the air (I was 15 and had pretty good hops) in less than a second. That was the first time I was alive for "my team" winning a title. The Reggie Miller buzzer beater against the Bulls in '97. This is probably my earliest, vivid sports memory. Those four plays will always be really special to me. Would love to see this thread, as much as it's a celebration of the Way Shot, turn into others talking about plays that are special to them. Who doesn't love seeing great plays?
  14. There are 4 iconic sports plays that will always make me smile and feel joy when I see them, and this is one of them.
  15. Agreed on those teams. I'd throw in some UNC teams, too. They generally win with more experienced teams with a one and done sprinkled in.
  16. Those guys would eat today's bigs alive down low, no doubt.
  17. That's a fair response. Maybe Baylor doesn't hold up historically, but other recent teams can. The 2012 Kentucky team could probably have beaten the '81 or '87 IU National Champion teams, for example.
  18. And he's much more level headed about a disappointing, close, road lose than some others I've seen this past week...
  19. You don't think last years Gonzaga or Baylor team could compete with great teams from the past? It's pretty early to say who is going to actually be great this year when comparing teams to how they were playing in the tournament in the 80s and 90s, but I think there are plenty of recent examples of teams that could hold their own with those teams.
  20. It isn't the point guards fault when a switch happens on a PnR and the big can't seem to get open or get in position for a rebound... that's on the big. And there are plenty going beyond that with XJ... it's silly.
  21. In our two road games against tough competition he has a 16:6 ATO and I could make a very strong case that all 6 turnovers were terrible calls by the refs. His decision making has mostly been fine; he needs to stop fouling so he can stay on the floor. He forced some bad shots last night no doubt, but TJD sure didn't help him. A PnR where your AA big rolls like a sack of potatoes isn't going to work.
  22. That was such a phenomenal play. As violent as his arm motion was, he got all ball. He fouled him because he elevated so high his legs where into a guy trying to dunks back.
