  1. The difference in the NBA is the players are just so good that it doesn't matter what you do on defense a lot of the time. But yeah, you can see signs of what this team can be. If we steadily improve over the next few months we are going to be so dangerous by the end of the year.
  2. It’s amazing how an NBA defensive scheme is superior to a college scheme, isn’t? The reality is we have better schemes on both sides of the ball than most of the country, just by virtue of having an NBA head coach. As Woodson continues to bring in guys who fit more of what he wants to do, we are going to see some really special basketball.
  3. I understand what you're saying, but Rob is so bad on offense. I think trying something else at this point in our schedule is worthwhile and if it doesn't work I don't think you'd struggle to plug Rob back in. We know he's going to defend at a high level, we know he's going to bog the offense down. Let's see what Lander can do against some cupcakes as he (hopefully) gains confidence and sees a real, defined role. I'm not convinced that'll work, but I don't see the harm at this point.
  4. I'm not sure anyone thinks Lander is anything other than a very flawed player at this point, we all get that he was overrated coming in. But the discussion isn't just about Lander, it's also about Rob. What has Rob done to say that no one should be given a shot at his minutes?
  5. I don’t disagree, but it just validates that Lander may already be outplaying Rob. We don’t see what happens at practice, but we can see on the court that Rob isn’t adding much.
  6. Weird. My phone pulled me to that response when I clicked on the notification and I didn’t pay that close of attention.
  7. I disagree here, we don’t know what has happened in practice. I think it’s very apparent Woody is giving upperclassmen the first crack at minutes. No better evidence than Bates being brought on slowly despite the rave reviews he has been getting in practice. For better or worse, Woody comes from an era where vets get the first crack at minutes.
  8. I think Rob bogs down the offense a lot more than Lander does. He pounds the air out of the ball and we stand around a lot more as a team with him in. When Lander is in things are at least happening. He needs to continue to get more PT so that it’s more good things than bad things,
  9. No. I don’t watch game one live even.
  10. I agree with a lot of this. He gives us a lot on defense, but we lose a lot on offense and I'd rather see what Lander can give on offense, knowing we have a good defense behind him.
  11. And Durr played like crap and laughed about it, and then Durr didn’t play again.
  12. But hasn't that been true of Rob for years? He has a pretty shot, it just doesn't go in.
  13. This. Geronimo is ahead of Race in their second season, and very well may prove he's better than Race was last year, but Race has turned into a stud that I didn't know he could be. I'd love to see Race get his perimeter shot going, but his ability to run the floor and push the ball himself this year, as well as the way he is defending, has taken him to a. completely new level.
  14. He can have a spot role and not be a core part of the rotation. His mindset is better so far this season but the production…
  15. Ah, certainly a fair point. My bad on missing your point.
  16. It’s such an enjoyable team to watch. Steph is an All-Time great for how he has impacted the offensive end of the court (not just shooting) and Draymond, at least in my book, is an All-Timer on defense. So much basketball IQ on that team.
  17. Last season wasn’t a redshirt year, it just doesn’t count.
  18. I can see a scenario where by the end of the year our we have a tight rotation of: TJD Race Kopp Bates X Lander Geronimo Galloway And we are one of the toughest outs in the country. That’s a lot of really tough basketball players that do a lot of things well. I’m really excited for these next few months.
  19. I am so excited about this team and that win. 35 minutes of that game caused nothing but pure optimism IMO. Trayce was Trayce tonight, but what I saw at least in some stretches from Bates, Kopp, Lander, Race, and Geronimo was really encouraging. All five of those guys stepped up in big ways at different stretches with clutch plus and clutch minutes. I am as disappointed as anyone that we blew a double digit lead, but we also never gave up the lead and we responded time and time again to every punch we took. We have a lot to learn from a game that we WON. Aside from blowing a big deal there are some disappointing specifics that I don’t think need to be hashed out right now, but this team has some serious heart. I don’t know how this season will play out, but I do think this will be a really fun season we will all look back upon very fondly. For the first time in a long time, this feels like Hoosier basketball.
  20. Kopp is obviously not the most athletic guy, but dude competes in defense. This teams energy is infectious.
  21. Bates can flat out play. Enjoy him while we have him fellas.
  22. I think that was a bad call but I will take it.
  23. I think Bardo’s case is that it wasn’t intentional so it’s not flagrant…. And that’s an idiotic take if that’s what it is.
  24. He needs to keep shooting. He is a good shooter, just needs to see some fall.
  25. Man this NBA style of defense we are playing is ELITE!!
