Well one thing is he will see player development. Just look at the improvement in Xavier from the start of the season to the end of it, he was a completely different player. Or for his NBA aspirations he can look at Trayce going from a possible undrafted free agent to a potential 1st round pick. Those are two players whose stock has risen tremendously under Coach Woodson in just one season.

They also supposedly backed off him because they already had one small guard in IT, so I wouldn't really say they recruited him hard. In fact that is kind of an FU to him because of only being 6ft.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him go there. Also if there has been discussions for awhile isn't that against the rules? The few Purdue fans I know say they would never break the rules to win lol.

While I am not all that thrilled with the Fife situation, I doubt that Woody was really worried and looking over his shoulders. Also what makes you think that Walsh failed? Archie Miller failed but that doesn't mean everyone from his staff did.

Painter is a good coach, but he is what he is at this point, Gene Keady 2.0, good regular season coach but an average to below average tournament coach. I would assume that Purdue fans want to win a National Championship sometime. Under Painter they have had some of their best teams and best players of all time, but other than the one Elite they haven't really gotten close to a Championship. Eventually you have to question whether the guy you have can get you to the top of the the mountain or not, and so far Painter hasn't shown he is capable of doing that.

And aren't you 1-4 in those S16's? And the one successful tourney was because Carsen went off.

Or maybe Purdue has lower goals because of Keady and Painters failures in March. You should always set the bar high.

I can't like this post enough. Yes Purdue has had a nice little run under Painter, but I want March success as a Hoosier fan, not Boilermaker success. Also Morton might turn out to be a miss but nothing about Newman says he is a loss. 😀 👍 👍 👍 👍

Curbelo and McNeil would be a hard pass on. Curbelo plays to much out of control and if McNeil is that bad on defense then I definitely wouldn't want him. Coach Woodson is all about the defense so I don't see where he would fit in. Reneau and Sparks sounds like we have a chance to get one of them, which is good because we might need one or maybe both of them. Bridges could be an interesting player to get.

No matter what he does as far as working to get better IF Trayce and Race both returned his minutes are going to be limited and a starting spot probably not happening.

Yeah Coach Underwood has his work cut out for him next season. No All-Americans on that roster like Ayo or Kofi to make things easier on him. Plus a lot of experience leaving in Frazier and the others. 👍

If Coach Woodson is the coach everyone thinks he is then I will go with him on this. The Hoosiers are still recruiting him and seem to maybe be in the lead for him, so whatever it is they must not be to worried about it. I would imagine they have done their homework on Booker.

Hmm not sure what that has to do with anything. It doesn't change what I said. Newman is underwhelming, TKR no one has any idea what he can be, is he another Brooks or something alot better like TJD, plus the jury is still out on Furst. Like I said a couple of decent young players but that is all they are for now. Also the guards are a lot weaker right now. Take away Ivey and Purdue's backcourt looks pretty underwhelming. Which as we all know is the key to success in March

With the players they are losing, especially Ivey I see them taking a big step back next season. They have a couple of decent young players but none of them have shown a whole lot up to this point.

When he says professional career I assume he means something other then basketball lol.

Yeah and once the Hoosiers started doing that Trayce started playing better,which has also coincided with him moving up some draft boards.

Hopefully Coach Woodson is looking to get away from the model those teams set, which I think he is. If he does and has success with it I think other teams and the league will follow suit.
