Kinda reminds me of another kid from Indianapolis years ago...
He had the same rap, but our coach at the time knew how to motivate like few others...he came around and was an important cog in the 1981 championship team...
I think our current coach can motivate as well...
Turner?

Funny...that's exactly what I heard about Hooks. These young guys have to know that effort is a piece of the equation. The difference here is...the staff offered.
I've only seen a couple of Hooks videos but I was sold. However rarely is there a lot of posted video where a guy looks like sh7t. I've never seen a
Booker clip that I didn't thank he looked disinterested.

IU isn't currently or really ever been recruiting him on a serious level.
I'd love to hear the back story here.

I'm a pass on this one. Can't teach effort.

I think the 23 class will have a couple quality bigs in it.

Sam Perkins is who he reminds me of now. But is he still growing?
15 years old

I think the family ties to the university and his relationship with TJD keep us in it. There could always be info we don't though.

His numbers are slanted a bit but he is agile and has great hands.
But a year from now we'll know alot I think. How does respond to elite competition? What does he look like next to Evans? Will he respond to an aggressive conditioning program?
Anyone remember Terry Mills? Has that feel about him.

Getting a Florida Prep pipeline would be huge. Jeffries mightve been the last big with the caliber of skills and intangibles this big fella has.
It's a ways away still and I think the NBA is a strong possibility for him out of high school. However, if NIL revenue is half or more than a rookie contract there's alot to be said for the college atmosphere and being a Bloomington God.

Any recent news on this youngster?

Let's watch his weight/conditioning the next 2 years.

He was an interesting recruit.
For his size and early advertised skills set, he never really got in the top 50.
-
I think he's a manchild.
The "modern" big man trends can help us land guys like this that because of said trends will be under the radar.
I could see perhaps a little foul prone at first but other than that what not to like?
I predicted early on, we're going to he a physical, tough team and this guy is that.

I'm still sold on him.

Getting him in the fold would certainly lighten our need of a portal big.

He's a legit center. He's a guy that if he went to Wisconsin we'd hate playing against. Scheffler (sp) from Purdue.
-
I'd like to land this kid for sure.
I anticipate he'll end up a fringe 5 star recruit by the time he graduates.

This was a bummer. We should get Hooks though. He's similar.

I like big pgs. Adding Clowney and/or Reneau gives us a well rounded class. 2023 will be the year of Fife on the recruiting trail.

Must be a political offer to help with Hood-Schifino and his coaches. Don’t see this kid leaving the State of Florida
Could be a sign Clowney is leaning elsewhere or just us trying to further our efforts with the Florida prep scene.

Would have loved to have him. But that door closed a while ago.
Agreed. I really hope Kyle has a great career and I'll be the first to say I'm wrong if he doesn't turn out to be a soft 6'11" 3pt shooter.

Boy guys, I'm seeing a young man that's still very prepubescent looking. We still have plenty of time but he kinda strikes me as a Northwestern kid.

Does he defend the position well against scoring points guards? That was always the knock on Hulls.
