  1. This is from a former high school coach I am sure there are many on here with more experience or higher level and I might be way off but that is just what I see and why I get so frustrated and cannot watch much of it. I wish I could just watch the ball and be a fan that would be great.
  2. 100 percent agree and that is what Holtman did put it in Branham's hands and let him make plays by scoring or by drawing in Johnson too far to kick out for an open 3. Who is our best player. A post player and we don't run offense through him we pass to him and stand. Thats what I see. Johnson could be that guy but how many forced shots near the rim does he throw up and miss wildly. When you have a good post player and know the double is coming you have to have some sort of back side action to deter the double from the weakside. The longer you delay the better chance TJD has to be able to go to work and not just back down dribble wait for the double to kick to crappy shooters. That is not offense to me in any sense of the definition. We need a playmaking guard that is for sure
  3. Don't use excuses that is a cuss word around here. They shoukd be referred to as legitimate reasons that we continue to suck.
  4. It has always been about Jonny's and Joes but we did not make adjustments that we should have made down the stretch. Miller Kopp MIA forever gets it rolling makes a turnover comes out never goes back in. Parker Stewart beat 88 straight times to the right side every single time no adjustment, no double no trap no hey lets get the ball out of the hands of the guy kiling us. Ball goes to TJD in the only spot that he can get it and do anything with with it and 4 guys stand and wait for the double to come so he can figure out who to pass it to. Heaven forbid a basketcut a back cut maybe a pin down screen and post. Nope stand and wait. Or we just let our guards dribble out the shot clock and chuck up a bad 3. with 5 seconds left lets walk it up. My high school kids I coached know better than this but its allowed so it keeps happening. . Certain players are held accountable and others not.
  5. That is correct but his criticism of last night is pretty spot on.
  6. I was about to post that and say I am not sure he is wrong.
  7. @rico i just wanted to check on you to make sure you are ok after seeing this video. https://www.outdoorlife.com/fishing/video-fishermans-buddy-drags-him-across-ice/
  8. I would give anything to have high IQ Team that can finish a game.
  9. He did not walk away. There is no rule that says you have to shake hands. Both coaches knew words were going to be exchanged. He could have went right to locker room if he was that upset. I get what you are saying and are right but coaches in general equal egomaniac
  10. My 26 years of coaching experience disagrees with you. Not saying g you are right or wrong but that's pretty much the norm with most coaches I know. None of those in football. The things I have heard in those lines because unlike basketball the fans can't hear at mid field
  11. No opposing coach is making an appointment with to discuss anything. Parents that's another story I always had a 24 hour rule. If you have never had an issue in the handshake line I am shocked. Does not always have to he negative either. Lots of great things happen but I assure you if i did something to tick another coach or he did that's the time it gets discussed
  12. Because it happens everyday in athletics. You coach you understand that.
  13. Which part was a poor decision. The pressing , the timeout, the handshake line, the grab of the arm which
  14. Where did I say he did. They both knew when the horn sounded words were going to.be exchanged if either wanted no part of it just walk away. No.rule says you have to shake hands
  15. I am not sure if I posted this or not. Lost connection. What Gard did happens everyday in college basketball. We just don't ways see it. What Howard did almost never happens
  16. Yes suspend for at least 1 game. He initiated it yes but what he did IMO did not warrant someone taking a swing. Howard has an obligation to HIS team and he lost control and know that has a negative impact for HIS team that is the issue to me. No matter what you cannot r3act that way.
  17. I am not disagreeing, it did not warrant the response from Howard. He has to he the bigger man. Coaching at that level is.90 percent ego and he let his team down by acting like a jackass
  18. Right in the face like a Juwan Hiward slap. The purpose of handshake line by definition is to put your hands on someone else. Am I wrong?? If you were at attorney would you feel confident in trying an assault case or even intimidation on what Gard did?? Or would you feel more confident in getting as assault charge for what Howard did. His responsibility is to do what is best for his team to set a positive example for his players. He failed. It takes a bigger man to walk away even if he felt threatened because those young men look to h for leadership. He failed his guys. Plain and simple. It makes no difference if he was justified he lost his cool
  19. Not even close to the same analogy. I said it so.many times this happens all the time in hand shake lines the only difference was a slap was thrown.
  20. Nope right as always. Thanks for your concern though.😀
  21. Just as a point of reference Howard called timeout with 14 seconds left down big to Ohio State. To execute that 15 point play they just put in. Pot meet Kettle. Carry on.
  22. I heard a guy last night say that Howard was just teaching hsi guys to play til the end to not give and finish the game hard. He was coaching right til the end. I have no problem with that at all and applaud coaching hard and playing hard right to the very end. With that being said then if Howard can coach his guys til the end why can't Gard coach his. Using a timeout is part of coaching. Maybe teaching his guys to play til the end. We all know this is BS. Howard was pissed they were losing and how miserable this season has been for them. He decided to press the walk ons and Gard called timeout. Not a big deal just a little pissing match among guys that will coach against each other. If you are going to press in that situation then don't cry about it after the game and pout about it. If he was really that ticked about it he could have bypassed the handshake completely. Like I said before anyone that knows anything at all about coaching knew that words wold be exchanged during the handshakes plain and simple. I am not going to comment on who started anything. YOU are a grown man in charge of a team, 50 years old and if you cannot handle that kind of issue how in the hell are you expecting you 18 to 23 year old guys to handle their real life situations. Terrible example set by Howard and what followed up was a direct reflection of the actions of their coach.
