To a certain extent yes. Like others have said there us a 4 or 5 year period where Knight considered hanging it up or moving on to a new school and gave up some of the control. The admin passes him off so he came back with a vengeance at the end that they were going to get back to high quality character kids that he picked and were willing to put up with him. The Patrersons and Milkers etc were so talented but could not handle knight. In the past those guys would not have made it to IU because Knight would have let them know just how much of an ass he is. The assistants just wanted to deliver good players

Because they were dirty and he knew that he did not want to be involved with players that listened to UM or UK and some others. Those 2 were far from the only players that he stopped recruiting or gave an ultimatum to

We have missed the tournament more times in the past 10 years than we did during his 30 year tenure. Making the tournament and losing 1st rd games was substandard but look at where we are now. If CMW gets us in the tourney they will probably hang a banner. When the expectation are so high based on past success for Knight there was no way to go but down from there

Did you see the team that was there when he was fired. He took back control and landed Jeffries, Newton Moye etc...

He turned over recruiting to the assistants and spent more time hunting fishing and less time sitting in the living rooms of recruits.

I know there are lots of LeBron haters and I understand it but you cannot discount his greatness on the court. 23 straight games scoring 25 plus points. For someone his age doing it on a pretty average team in the way he is doing it is quite impressive

Exactly. How many of Wisconsin players would start for IU? I think top to bottom IU has as much orore talent as the 3-6 teams in the BIG. they lack shooters, high IQ and a toughness to go get a bucket. No one has that you are not beating me tonight mentality.

Man that's a good question. With the current weapons i would say no. If they upgrade WR and TE maybe. I just did not think Wentz was that bad.

I wish I knew what rabbit the Colts plan to pull out of their hat. Everything pointing toward moving on from Wentz. I just dont see the possible upgrade and they need help in so.many other areas

IU has not been hot for 3 total weeks in the past 6 years.

I don't know the answer, I like the question but what we get are excuses and for 2 years I fought the good fight about no matter how valid and excuse might be it is still an excuse. That's all we have heard for 20 plus years. No excuses, no explanations just get the job done.
