It's still up in the air to whether Cockburn plays or not...if he doesn't, Sparty has a good chance to steal one...
With Cockburn neither team has much of a post presence on offense
I think Marble has made some progress though

Im not as high on BS as many others. 2 set back injuries in his final year before college. He may benefit from a year focusing on his body as much as his game. Jmo.
He has to get 100% healthy for sure
Purdue needs him to backup IT next year unless Morton can play PG

I wondered how IU fans felt about Dukie V.

Couple of good ones in the Big 10 tonight...
Michigan State in Champaign to take on the Illini (7 PM EST ESPN)
Maryland travels to Piscataway to meet Rutgers (9 PM EST BTN)
MSU-Illinois should be a tough, physical game...Line has Illini -5.5
Rutgers is -4 in the other game...
Who will impose their physical will ?
O/U 142.5 Illini. 132.5 Rutgers

I know some on here were likening him to John Stockton but he has to be a candidate to redshirt next year if not hit a year of prep, if thats still a thing. Sucks it happened his senior year while his team was supposed to be in a title hunt and him hoping for a mr basketball run.
Why would he redshirt?

Serious question:
Europe doesn’t have HS so I assume those are U19 Fiba teams?

I expected him to show more then he has. He still has time to turn it around.
I hope so…seems like a great kid
Top 100 recruit?
redshirtsfather died
covid season
Ivey explodes so he loses starting spot when Sasha comes back from Covid
like KL he seems to buy in and support his teammates from the bench
hopefully they both realize getting a degree and bring a part of The Family are important

TJD biggest problem is his outside shot. The one i am curious about is what has happened to Newman, he looks like he doesn't even belong on a division one team anymore.
He is lost
he isn’t explosive enough to go around defenders without a long pump fake which everyone knows is coming
not a good ball handler or passer
he needs to play like Morton or Galloway….D up…move the ball..shoot when wide open.

I doubt it. Class of 2019 IU took Armaan Franklin and TJD. A quick look says Inside The Hall projected a 4 man class so it looks like there were two more scholarships available but Archie never seemed to use them all. Fans probably would have killed him for signing an unranked player.
Remember when Franklin & Newman were 4 year starters and TJD was one & done
what has changed for TJD? Might as well stay and get your degree

Wake wins it 98-76. LaRavia with 31p 10r 4a 3stl. Wake 2 starting guards and LaRavia were combined 25-37 from the field. Looks like Dawson Garcia still working his way back from a concussion suffered a couple of weeks ago.
Did IU ever recruit him?

Dude….Galloway was touching him on his hip flexor 😳🤣
Maybe he hurt it flopping to the ground vs Illini ?

Back then it was NBC that had the national game. The travel partners if I remember correctly were.
IU/OSU.
PU/UI.
NW/UW.
UM/MSU.
Iowa/Minnesota
It was so great watching Bird, Tripucka, Dr Dunkenstein , Ernie & Bernie…..Hubbard vs IU….Sleepy
the fact we only got big ten and DePaul games made those Enberg Packer & McGuire games so special

The discussion of how this was our 3rd game in the week and how UM hadn't played since Tuesday got me thinking. I know with having 14 teams and playing 20 conference games makes it hard to schedule. Also with 3 different broadcast affiliates to worry about your schedule will not be balance. It just seems like if you get lucky on who you only play once and when you play people it is a huge advantage.
It use to be so much more fair and balanced when we only had ten teams and played everyone twice. You really had only one broadcast to worry about because a lot of it was locally televised. All games were played on Thursdays and Saturdays. It was also easy for fans to remember the schedule like that plus each team had a travel partner. So you knew if IU was playing PU on Thursday then on Saturday you were playing Illinois.
Thursday/Saturday!
I think IU had O$U as a travel partner
Purdue had Illini
When you played them it was on a Wednesday? Or am I misremembering
plus CBS Game of the week with Al McGuire was awesome

Same. Wish we had that much off ball movement for Stewart.
CMW played for RMK…why no motion offense?
Race & TJD are pretty good on the move. It creates driving angles which XJ & Rob can exploit

Ha, he is refusing to let Rob get all the attention as the big shot maker.
Which shot is better?
I have love for Rob but nobody thought IU was beating Cats
plus UK took their ball and went home…🥲
a shot that ended a great rivalry!

I was thinking if Purdue ran into Auburn in the tournament. Purdue has some size inside, but PU doesn't have the length and athletic ability on the wing or the backcourt to compete
Was thinking same thing
rather play Gonzaga or Arizona

Guys I wasn't necessarily saying they were all better teams. I was talking about how they play and they allow their athletes to play with more of a freedom. Also saying they have more length and athletic ability
I say this about SEC & Big 12
big ten doesn’t have the long athletic players in abundance like these conferences do

Acceptable this time, given the circumstances:
- The fact it was Purdue
- Purdue’s ranking at the time
- The breaking of a long losing streak to them
All those plus if Rob doesn’t hit that shot you basically went over 4 minutes without scoring to give it away….although I’m sure we miss FT to give it back
that was a stressful game for both sides but especially for IU fans
Ivey almost banked the last shot in too

The story someone told me was that Buckner was having so much sex his basketball performance declined and that’s why he was in Knight’s doghouse.
I was amphibious….so it helped my game 🤔😳❌

I don’t really think any of those were in what I would call the “bad” category.
I would agree. Thankfully nobody went Grayson Allen and grabbed with the second hand
TJD got lucky he didn’t break his wrist under him
I like Race & TJD…both play really hard & physical.

TJD I have watched it 10 times
not sure I see an obvious “hip check” but TJD is s phenomenal athlete who isn’t going to fall on his own
there had to be some contact but it didn’t look dirty imho
You guys give Galloway credit for getting under his skin…..playing physical. A couple trips earlier he shoved him in the back as he elevated.
Only one of these situations didn’t involve a player in the air and vulnerable.
