Hard, physical play is fine...a cheap shot thrown firearm/elbow isn't...

Trevion Williams should have gotten the same thing at Penn State when he threw an elbow to a guys chest on a free throw...

I dislike both of these teams, but I'm fair about it...The refs made the exact right call...

💯. MP took him out after that

should have been a review and F1

Watching the replay and while Purdue is far from the most talented team IU will play this year, they had a big vocal crowd and were really playing with energy and enthusiasm.  IU could have easily folded and if it were the men's team, they would have.  IU won't play in a more hostile atmosphere than they did in this game and it's a real credit that they showed a backbone and will to win.

It's just irritating that IU's men's team is so soft on the road.  They could really take a page from the ladies program here.  The ladies are damned tough.

We finally have a coach….same as IU mbb.

now can she recruit like CMW ?

Was it really, really bad? I was out getting my miles in and hear my phone pinging like crazy. Knew something happened. My buddies in Chicago were basically saying the same....the refs tried every possible way to give Izzo a win.

Now Sparty gets to go on the road I think.

    1.  Hold off the ball gave Christie 2FT when Sparty was down 6 and couldn’t throw it in the ocean

    2.  Dual possession travel was kinda bad….no dual possession until the end and it’s NEVER called

    3.  Foul with 1 second left was crap

MSU is down 21-19 to NW with 8 minutes to go in tbe first half. NW is aying short handed without Nantz and a couple of bench players. NE got out to a 13-2 lead before MSU started to play. NW is playing a couple of freshman who haven't really played much and one is Barnhiser who is from Indiana.

Lafayette Jeff!  I think most big ten schools took a look

can’t argue with a free degree from Northwestern

I agree we need a guy like that, but probably the 2 most prominent "go to" guys in the Big 10, Keegan Murray and Johnny Davis, were both 150+ on 247 (Murray was actually 300+)...

So an honest question here...why does it seem that so many other teams in the Big 10 develop players like this? Trevion Williams was 150+...D'Mitrik Trice was 300+ in the rankings...

Is it a question of development? Judging talent?

I think Coach Woody is behind the 8 ball on a lot of our current roster, because they're pretty much developed for the most part...

But are we seeing good development on some of our younger kids?

I didn’t think Galloway was anything but a deep sub….but he has looked really good

I really think JG22 flashes some serious talent at times

KL… never saw it last year.  He is quick with a pg mentality but I’m still not impressed.  He was a 5 star so somebody smarter than me liked him…Purdue offered…

IMHO player development is 3 things:

    1.  A system that fits the player

    2.  Coaches who can teach

    3.  Players who want to work

  6. Halftime scuffle

CMW is talking with ref…seems reasonable

    Mccaffrey walks over….seems odd

everyone reacts like McCaffrey said something…..”you made my daddy mad”???

    “Nice suit coach”

We need an open mic 🎤!!!

maybe he went Full Fauci and called someone a moron

Probably a 3 or a 2! Definitely jumped out of my seat and screamed at the top of my lungs at the ref.

I have a tall, long athletic kid (plays football and lacrosse, his bothers are D1 lacrosse players) and the refs have allowed smaller kids to abuse him all season. It's honestly been unfair to the kid.

So, I kind of let my season long frustration out on this one ref 🤣

    You coach Zach Edey?😳🧐😂

Not sure what you’re talking about. PSU although not great, is not bad. Rutgers beat PU, PSU was competitive with PU. Most teams are going to have “bad” losses and good wins, that’s called playing a season. You’re searching for negativity here.

Competitive?  Purdue was lucky to win in happy valley.  Lucky to play Iowa & Rutgers without top scorers.  Unlucky to not play Michigan while they are struggling.

Shrewsbury talks directly about fans saying IU losing at Penn State is a bad loss in post game after Purdue

I've already told that worthless university has named all the buildings after us. And Purdue is a much better school.

Like adding peanuts to a turd.

I think it’s State Farm Arena now

Was it not named Assembly Hall when it opened in 1963?

    it’s actually an amazing building

largest domed stadium in North America before Astrodome

roof is compressed concrete pies held in place by cables wrapped around base

    I am very confused.

I am arguing that deflections are a good defensive indicator, and though it may not lead to steals all the time, they do have other positive effects.

you then replied to me stating that steals are a worthless stat.

    i said no.

    then you say this....

    did i miss something?

    Deflections are always great

steals & steaks can be misleading

How many deflections lead to turnovers? is it 25% is it 10%? I think i read somewhere the goal is 35 deflections a game. I am sure you can do that math. the times it doesnt lead to a turnover, it disrupts the offense. A lot of college offenses waist the first 10-15 seconds of the play clock. you get a deflection mid set, it disrupts that set, now you have to set up an offense and try to get a decent shot within the remaining time limit.

Its the subsurface on some of these statics.

Blocking out doesnt necessarily lead to a rebound, but it sure does help.

Steals  are a worthless stat in general

Ivey goes for pick 6 steak all the time which is great when he gets it but leaves the defense exposed when he doesn’t

  12. Gophers played some of the softest perimeter defense I’ve ever seen….nice to see Rob knock down 3’s

Galloway with Rob & XJ gives you good athleticism on the wings

    parker struggled with high pick

IU hugging roll guy…not much hedging

shows you Woodson is confident in perimeter defenders to contain dribble

  13. When I said IU by 15 over Penn State they hadn’t played in a month I only saw 3 early games

    1.  Run the Picket fence….that guy is for real

    2.  Lee hasn’t played yet…played 30 today…nice face up game

    3.  It was a Lundy/Sessioms dominated offense which is easier to contain

Purdue has to be thrilled to get a win in happy valley
