  1. This would be a monster boost for the defense.  When Deland returned to IU I always thought there was a chance of a flip, but a very very low chance.

He seemed to be set to get away and do his own thing, and I completely understand that thought process.

He would be "A guy " at OSU, but could be "the guy" here.  This just has a feel that something is up and a flip to IU is more of a possibility than I originally thought.

Adding a guy of this caliber to the program should certainly get the attention to guys like Strickland and Curry.

Scott Frost is the gift that keeps on giving.  What a weak minded coach.  Always complaining about schedules and trying to get out of hard games.  Shocking that his teams aren't very good 🙄

It's even worse of a look when you consider how arrogant he is.  In multiple comments/interviews he has come across as an incredibly unlikable person.

Wish we had them as a crossover this year.

I didnt see the lateral quickness in his film, but he's only a SO though.

Usually kids this size, this early as destined for the DL. I could be wrong though.

    It's a big time start.

I trust your judgment on that over mine.  A dynamic pass rusher would make thia defense even better. Really excited about this commitment!

  4. I could be way off, but this guy seems like a perfect fit for the new "Bull" position Allen put in last year.

Speed to cover guys, especially TE, but strong enough to put a hand on the ground and rush the passer.

Either way, monster get for IU.

  5. This article is about a month old with a FSU lean, but has some interesting information. One of the guys he mentioned has already committed to FSU though.

Over the past year, Denzel has formed a strong friendship with fellow 2023 recruits Stantavious Smith and Gabe Harris. Moore says that all three are very close and that they plan on playing in college together.

“We have a group chat where all three of us talk to the same coaches at the same time,” Moore said. “We’re like brothers. We send film to each other after games and help each other get better. We met at an All-American camp that the three of us dominated. Since then we have stayed in contact. We talked about maybe playing at the same high school – man we’d dominate! But, college is where we will come together. We all have the same offers and we will commit close together. Once one of us does it (commits) you’ll know where the other two are going.”

    You can get it again

It's incredibly rare. The article I read recently said there are 5 confirmed cases of re-infection worldwide.   He is wearing a mask to be PC.

Literally every single football game,  pro and college I have watched,  coaches pull a mask down to talk to players.   The only reason for them to wear a mask at that point is to be PC.

If everyone has been tested before the game there is no reason to wear a mask.

I haven't seen Luke in person. I watched his state championship game, and he dominated a legit Andrean team with at least 3 D1 players on it.

And I'm not sure about his fastball, but I think his slider is nasty too.

Thanks for the info, really appreciate your contribution to the site.  Especially the baseball board.

If he has a solid slider to go with that fastball that is big time.  I always thought Aroldis Chapman was unhittable when his slider was working.   It was almost a better pitch thab his fastball.

He's top 5 rounds good. I guess he's thrown 95mph this summer already.

If he has any kind of command,  that is legitimate stuff.  Have you had a chance to watch him?  Is it a straight 95 or does he have some movement?

I interned with the Richmond Roosters in college,  and we worked out Garrett Berger.  He was from the Indy area, Carmel maybe?  2nd rd pick by the Marlins and had a big time fastball.  But it was flat, max effort, and hurt his arm.

We had a hitter stand in while he threw for the tryout, and he wasn't willing to stand in after a few pitches because Berger was all over the place.

We'll be lucky if he goes to college

I don't necessarily disagree with you but with the massive cloud hanging over the minors right now,  along with a ton of talent that stayed another year in college...I think there will be a trickle down to college baseball for a couple of years.

  11. Good write up, thanks for your contribution to IU coverage!

Obviously this guy can pick anywhere he wants to play,  and there is a lot of time for him to decide.   Does anyone know if we are a legitimate option or is he just giving polite consideration to in-state schools?
