  1. My Dad was a big Celtics fan so I naturally chose the Lakers to cheer for. I'll have to do some thinking on this one. Golden St is so good and this isn't a slight at all to them....just need to think what Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Scott, Green, Rambis(he and Draymond would be fun to watch) would do and how they would attack. Low post game Lakers would win hands down. Run and gun/Showtime....tough to think how it would play out.
  2. Weight has me confused lately. I decided after the NCAA tourney, Masters and first week of baseball to give up beer for awhile, increase my workouts,etc...only dropped 8 lbs in the last weeks. Was expecting a larger drop especially giving up beer/booze. I find myself craving carbs so while I'm happy about the 8 lbs...mint choc chip ice cream and pizza have been calling my name like crack was calling Pookie each night.
  3. Lebron being in 8 straight finals while winning 3 has cemented his legacy....but does anyone ever think that sequence end of game 1 could alter part of his legacy if they don't come back? I mean 3-5 and likely 3-6 now.
  4. I've disliked players for worse reasons. Shoot Haarms from Purdue and him running his hands in his hair already have me not liking him and it's the off season.
  5. I can tolerate Curry. The rest? No thanks. Used to like Green but his act is tired. Never was a fan of Durant and he chose the easy way to titles....makes me dislike him more. And after last night I'm cheering against them even more. Unfortunately unless Lebron joins the Celtics (not happening) or someone or 2 join Cleveland we'll be having the same conversation a year from now.
  6. Agree with what everyone else has said. We'll never know the impact but a loss like that can stick around. Cavs are lucky series doesn't resume until Sunday. On a side note...I hope we don't kill JR Smith the way Bill Buckner was. Mistakes happen. Unfortunately mistakes that cost titles happen too. Really hope this situation doesn't turn into that. Edit-Anyone else go to the bad/horrendous call of simultaneous charge/block call on Bryant/Swanigan from 2 years ago last night after they reversed the simultaneous call? Big 10 officials decided both calls would stand. At least NBA officials just made 1 bad call on that play.
  7. Wasn't sure what was more confusing. The 7 or the 39 for a Stevens team. 7-39 from 3? Great win by Lebron and Cavs. Not sure what happens in Finals. 8 straight Finals is very impressive. Very similar to 4 straight Super Bowls for Bills. PS....each year is a different animal but hats off to Stevens with this crew. Down Kyrie and Hayward and he had his team in the Finals if they make a few shots. I'll continue to pick Lebron (like this year) in the East as long as he plays but seems Celtics, Pacers are closing the gap. What Stevens did this year reminds me of what Joe Maddon used to do with Rays considering talent discrepancy and payrol.
  8. Just kidding on my part. I think Durant is phenomenal player. I just don't think top of all time. That's all.
  9. Spaces, paragraphs and whatever my man. I didn't say he was horrible. Ease up on the defensive nature...normal discourse but it seems you've been on attack mode lately. Enjoy the day!
  10. It's like wide receivers in the NFL that play today vs 20 years ago. Rules today allow you to get away with so much more. Same goes for NBA. Points in today's game don't mean as much to me.
  11. Big factor for me...and I think plenty. No way in the world I think Durant ends even in top 30 conversation (if he continues same clip).
  12. Agree all day. What Jordan had to play for titles was crap.
  13. Kevin Durant top 10 player of all time? Jordan, Lebron, Kobe, Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Hakeem, Bird, Duncan, Magic...there's 10 off the top of my head that he'll never crack. I could add Barry, Baylor, Cousy, Dr J, Gervin, Frazier...Lucas, Pistol Pete, West...Oscar. Maybe my NBA radar isn't working or maybe I don't pay close enough attention but if Durant ever ends up on a top 10 list of all time I'd be shocked. I think he's Dirk good. Wade good. Worthy good...but top 10?
  14. I think it's great for discussion and that's what most of us like to do. The one thing I've never understood is that somehow the Lebron crowd almost is feeling slighted as the 2nd greatest ever (if you think he is). I'm a Lebron fan. I think he's a freak. And I definitely think he belongs in that top 3-4 conversation...he and Kobe are probably neck and neck with Lebron having the edge. To me though best ever is Jordan. Stats, titles, defensive player aside, changed the league, changed the networks..he was carrying the torch that Bird/Magic started and took to another level.......just something about Jordan. His will, determination, mental toughness.....Lebron has all those too. I just think Jordan has a little more. I feel bad that people can't just appreciate greatness. It's almost like debating Willie Mays vs Mickey Mantle. Or Tom Brady vs Joe Montana. Or Jack vs Arnie and the list goes on..
  15. Exactly. Few of us tried to explain to the board how great of a trade it was for Pacers. We got shot down. Oh well. Life goes on. I wish the thread view went back to 2-3 days after that trade.
  16. Absolute must win for Celtics. It's weird. Love Brad Stevens. Really like Mookie Betts. Respect the heck out of Brady and Belichick. Just can't bring myself to cheer for any Boston team including the Celtics. Following some of their writers/fan boys on twitter is nauseating. I don't know if they just don't understand hoops....or perhaps didn't watch any other series. Playoffs on the road is a different animal. You would think after Celtics needing 7 to put Bucks away they would understand.
  17. Lebron was down 3-1 to Warriors in the Finals. All due respect he's faced more pressure.
  18. Pacers series still ticks me off. Hats off at this point to Celtics. I thought and predicted(wrongly) Cavs in 5. Guess we have another series on our hands. If Houston doesn't show up tomorrow could be a scenario where Golden St would have at least a week off (if not more) if Celtics/Cavs go 7.
  19. As someone just posted on twitter. Give BS a mozzarella stick and he'll average 10 and 5. With that said...I'm still ticked about Pacers series. Shows how close yet how far. Cavs will sweep Toronto obviously and I'll say Celtics might win 1 game.
  20. I've only caught bits and pieces. OG doing a good job on Lebron? I mean Lebron is going to get his points but looking at box score so far so good. If anyone is watching I'd love to know. Thanks in advance.
  21. It's easy to quit smoking. I've done it a thousand times---Mark Twain Another one from TV that I use often unfortunately... "Some people are so far behind they actually think they're leading the race!"----Junior Soprano
  22. Hopefully he gets a chance for minutes. Fell out of rotation in Portland.
  23. Hammons I was never sold on. I started a thread on another site discussing only Hammons or Painter could keep him around for 4 years...i.e. lack of development,etc... Many of the fans up north took offense. As of this email I'll stand by what I said. Painter doesn't develop bigs. Swanigan is a different story. Not sure why he's on extended trip to G league. Especially as a first rounder.
  24. Couple of us tried to say how good of a trade that was for Pacers when they made trade for PG. Would love to find that thread. Anyway...Crean embracing Vic. Makes me wish things could have worked out for him. Truly a good guy. Wearing the IU colors as well.
  25. Vic pretty much won the evening. Regarding OG. Earlier in the week Kevin Durant was asked what rookie has impressed him the most? His reply was OG. I also saw on twitter that OG took time at halftime before going to locker room to go say hello to Rabby and another buddy (Rah). I'll repeat that I wish he was with us this year but boy so happy for him to go from torn ACL to 1st round draft to successful start in less than 1 year. NBA will never be appt tv for me but I'll admit this years Pacers are really fun to watch.
