  1. Steve Nash hired to coach Nets. Out of left field but should be interesting. Dynamic between him and Kyrie will be one to watch.
  2. The Fever moved up to the NBA. Nice!
  3. How many remember Kenny Atkinson as instrumental in the Richmond Spiders upset of defending NCAA champion Indiana Hoosiers in 1988? https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/sports/1988/03/19/richmond-upsets-indiana-72-69/450ae7e5-c735-4d30-9197-51c3896ad61f/
  4. I lived in Phoenix during the D'Antoni era. Fun times. Even if Pacers didn't do better with him, it would be more entertaining. Atkinson is another name being thrown out.
  5. Thoughts on Ty Lue or Jason Kidd? Only two names I know of who might be better and available.
  6. That had to be the series most thought to end in a sweep. On the plus side for Bucks fans, Magic did that to Raptors last year, Raptors won next 4 and went on to win title.
  7. Thanks for bringing this to the board. Kudos to Duncomb. His hard work is paying off and his skills are being recognized. Kudo to Archie and staff for identifying an undervalued player. People talk all the time about Crean bringing in Oladipo, OG, etc. who weren't highly ranked, but credit should also be given to CAM in these situations for getting the 3* that moved up to 4* before the final rankings/getting to campus as well.
  8. Doncic. He's better than Young on both ends IMO. I'm not sold on Young yet, but he's certainly done better than I expected him too. ^This is impressive depth after only less than 2 seasons. Doncic and Young were already All-Stars so 7 is definitely doable (Ayton, Bagley, JJJ, SGA, Porter would get it done). Have to go back to 2011 for that many from a class
  9. I think you're right. Definitely looking that way. Mitchell Robinson at pick 36 is 2nd in WS. SGA has outplayed his draft position. Ayton and Young have played to/above theirs. Luka is out of this world so far (and for being so young). Porter is coming on strong now. Robert Williams has played pretty well in limited time (1st in WS/48). List goes on and on...
  10. I agree with you about rankings. They seem to be for NBA projections more than for college anyway, so I can see why he wouldn't be top 150 if that's the case.
  11. Spending last 2 years at a prep school his dad is starting. Wonder what shoe company is sponsoring that?
  12. Be nice if they get Cal to coach the Knicks and get that scum out of college basketball.
  13. Would be an awesome legacy recruit. Would let IU celebrate him and his father (again) especially given his untimely way too soon passing a couple of years ago.
  14. I've attached the excel file I used in the tournament and included a results screenshot below in case people don't want to click on/download a file. Of note (to me at least): Bob Knight was undefeated vs. other coaches in the tournament. I knew he would do well but thought it was really interesting that none of the other coaches beat him. Mike Davis was winless. His teams matched up with 70s era teams did him in. The decades played out mostly as expected, with the 50s and 60s benefiting from matchups vs. Crean/Archie rebuild years. 15. Recap through round one: Coaches: Decades: 1950s: 3-0 1960s: 5-5 1970s: 8-2 1980s: 6-4 * 5-3 when not facing same decade 1990s: 3-7 2000s: 3-7 2010s: 4-6 2020s: 0-1
  16. Glad (some) people are enjoying it. The seeding by sequential years produces some interesting matchups in the coming games/days that would never happen if it were truly seeded, so you may change your mind.
  17. Didn't realize how many good dunks the team had this season.
  18. 3 points shooting of 53.6% on 4.8 attempts per game one year and 44.8% on 5.3 attempts the next. Wow!
  19. Jay Edwards was a bad man at IU. Too bad we didn't get 4 years out of him.
  20. Game 4 VS In the biggest mismatch of the tournament thus far, can SR A.J. Moye’s heart and determination will the 2004 Hoosiers to an upset of the NCAA 3rd place and Big Ten champion 1973 Hoosiers with Steve Downing and a future legend FR Quinn Buckner? https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/indiana/2004.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/indiana/1973.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003–04_Indiana_Hoosiers_men's_basketball_team https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1972–73_Indiana_Hoosiers_men's_basketball_team
