  1. So now that Fred and Archie are gone, Marshall is your go-to?
  2. Romeo needs more aggression and opportunity to be successful IMO
  3. Prayers. Both Brad and Karmin, his deceased 1st wife (battled liver cancer for probably a decade or more with ups and downs), graduated from IU-Bloomington to become teachers. I'm lifelong friends with Karmin's younger brother and we stayed with her in Bloomington one weekend while they were attending IU and living in apartments across from the IUFB stadium (not Varsity Villas, but just south of them and the name escapes me). We were probably 13 or 14 years old. The night we arrived Karmin ordered pizza for us from Pizza Hut and Brad stopped by while were eating it. He gave Karmin grief for getting us Pizza Hut instead of Mother Bears, Nicks, etc. since we could get and had Pizza Hut plenty of times in our lives.
  4. I did. I finally a gif small enough to use that was pleasant enough to look at.
  5. Both turned out to be flops instead of over the top.
  6. They have shown this to be their MO for quite some time now. Sad thing is that if this is how they're going to do it, their draft strategy should be looking at the highest ceiling/risky prospects trying to find the next Giannis/PG/Jokic/etc instead of continuing to take the most ready now guys like Duarte/Hansborough/etc. I don't care who the coach/GM/etc is, they're not going to win a championship without hitting on a star draft pick (or more). If they just want to make the playoffs every year and advance once in awhile then keep doing what they're doing.
  7. With that line-up Archie might have saved his job, so probably for the best we missed on those guys
  8. Seemed like a better version of Matthew Hurt who went from McD's AA to undrafted after 2 years of the "brotherhood" of Duke. Good luck
  9. I remember the day when as a kid I first realized that football was like no other sport in that as you progressed up the ranks you moved one day forward and thought how cool that was. Now there are games basically everyday and it no longer exists. HS-Fri College-Sat NFL-Sun/Mon
  10. Agree. To me rankings matter as much as you want them to. Just like with any other ranking that are subjective while trying to be or posing as objective, they can't be accurate with all the players. There's just too many of them. Plus are they ranking them for college or pro or past results (HS or AAU)? Too many variables. As you point out there are plenty of booms and busts, but even looking at offers isn't foolproof. Recently, Ja Morant comes to mind, ending up at Murray State and not having any big time offers. Like Wade and Oladipo, is it really a ranking "miss" or did Morant, Wade, and Oladipo just put in the work in college to make themselves NBA talents (long after their rankings were locked in/over)? I think it's more of the latter. Rankings can't account for what a player does or doesn't do once they, so like any prediction it is difficult to be greater than 50/50. There are plenty of problems with rankings, but I agree with your disagreement that they don't matter.
  11. Agreed. If IU didn't have those 2 offers (IIRC) out already I wouldn't have asked. I wasn't even sure contact could be made w/ '24 kids until I saw those 24 kids with offers threads.
  12. That's what my 1st thought was as well...
  13. and Bob. 3 Roberts, Robs or Bobs in the pic depending on what they prefer to be called.
  14. Like the description. Anyone know anything about him?
  15. Any "connected" people know if we have any contact with this Indy Heat player?
  16. Highlights looked like a poor mans KD to me. His movements especially when he pulled up for a jumper seemed similar
  17. It will be interesting to see what he does. He doesn't need the $, so does he join LeBron for cheap. I don't think Phoenix is getting back to the Finals anytime soon. They dodged Anthony Davis, Jamal Murray, and Kawhi Leonard on their path there. Don't see that happening again. His post game comments made it sound like he's staying, but I don't put much value in what's said in the "heat of the moment"
  18. Put Magic in as the PG and you have an unbeatable 5. Magic Jordan LeBron Giannis Shaq All "freaks" in their own way.
  19. Same. I was at the game and it was an amazing aura/atmosphere that was ruined to a degree by the lackluster effort/game against Turdue. To make matters worse, there was an obnoxious Turdue fan/troll sitting 5 rows or so in front of me that we had to put up with in addition to what was going on in the game.
