ACLU has been trying to help first non violent offenders who have been sentenced to 24 months or less get out of a death sentence. We have tens of thousands of people inside our federal criminal system who are basically been given their death sentence. I know, I know....well criminals,etc....they are still human though. ACLU has been plenty busy I can assure you.
That's all good and all, but what about our basic liberties? You know, like the protesters in states that don't agree with what their governors are doing?

I order meal boxes and I am still getting the meat I need for my recipes. Hopefully that continues but if not, they have some decent meals without meat as well.
Can you have them send some meat to Wendy's please????

That's where I'm at. Bars and restaurants open Monday here in Indiana (not Marion County/Indpls). I'm glad for people to get back to work, do their thing....I'm not going to partake initially but at some point different parts of the country have to handle their own business. Unfortunately that creates another level of division....but to keep things locked down forever isn't what I view as sensible. 15% unemployment numbers inside 60 days. Unreal.
Kinda makes me wonder where the ACLU has been in all of this. Guess it doesn't fit their agenda.

O.K., Well my wife and I recently learned that come sometime in November we will be grandparents for the 4th time! So I got to wondering while watching Family Feud and hering all of the weird contestants names, what kids names would be like 6 years from now, with all the pandemic stuff going on.
Then I saw this video and I was laughing so hard, I had tears rolling down my eyes! Enjoy.....

And will the cable news networks be revising their counts downward, every time we get reports like the one out of Pennsylvania ? I doubt it.
I doubt it as well Mile. The news media has an agenda and I think we all pretty well know what it is.....

On a side note, I saw where the Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear is being sued by the States Attorney General for the Gov. anti travel ban.
He also was being sued for issuing a ban on in church services. Tough job.....

The quarantines and suggested measures were originally intended to keep the hospital system from getting overwhelmed. Outside of a few areas that doesn't appear to be happening. Is it just me or does it seem like the goalposts keep moving?
Can't speak for the hospitals, but I do see where they are opening up to elective surgeries and encouraging people to do so. That tells me that things must be getting better?

Thing is, what is totally acceptable? Absolutely 0% new cases or a low percentage of new cases before people feel confident about going out again? If it's 0%, this may never happen, especially if it shows up again in the Fall like some are suggesting.

The Indiana stay at home was to expire on Monday, 4/20, but the governor extended it to May 1st. Will be interesting to see what happens then.

Hopefully people will wake up and realize government is not the solution. Private industry is more efficient and should grow a pair and flip the bird to the FDA. The first positive test we had was because a test was developed independently and done without government approval.
And yet the administration did just that by incorporating many companies in this fight. Ford, GM, 3M, LILY and many others just to name a few.....

What does make things better is action. If not then, now. Right now. I don't pay my taxes for the government to do nothing while people die. We need more testing to open up safely. We know more now. We know it's dangerous and we know it spreads like crazy. We also know we need more testing. We should have been ramping up testing like maniacs during this time to help with the reopening process.
We will have to agree to disagree.... I pay taxes too and I think the government is doing it's best to stay on top of it..

We should have been using this time to massively increase testing and at least explore contact tracing. We have not really done either one.
The pessimist in me feels like the government has largely just wasted time during a very painful period for many people. People are suffering physically, mentally, and financially. We could have at least used this time to vastly increase testing production/availability and ramp up testing on a national scale. Instead, it's a hodgepodge of states stumbling through it - some doing okay and others not so much.
Playing the woulda shoulda coulda game does nothing to make things better. When this first came out, little was known about it as well as the seriousness of it. Then when testing started, there were problems with the reagents. I feel the government is doing the best they can with what knowledge (very little) they had at the time....

I know it's a weird time, but we can do better than stuff like this. Never heard of this guy/network, but just a few clicks told me all I need to know. He's Alex Jones-level of ignorance and lies. I also looked at his Twitter feed and his pinned tweet is about Michelle Obama being transgender.
I don't do twitter, but I do think there are some interesting questions raised....

You are correct. I am self-employed and thought WTH, I'll fill out the form(s). I really didn't know what to expect and sure enough, like you said mrflynn, I noticed PUA payments in my bank account. I have not been able to generate any income for almost 8 weeks and this is totally appreciated.
I want to add that you must file for Indiana Unemployment benefits first. Most likely, like me, I was turned down. But they do provide a link to file the PUA form.
