  1. No, not really. You can say he's in the convo, but the P's are currently in 5th in the East. he's behind guys like D'Antoni, Stevens, Casey, Stots, etc.
  2. Lol this is all Pritchard, who has done a great job. The Hick from French Lick just ran out the door when the writing was on the wall. He gets zero credit.
  3. All W's are good, but yeah GS was really depleted. I am beginning to think the Rockets have this year in the bag. When he comes back, at least 3 weeks from now, Curry will at best be less than healthy. Durant's still recovering. Klay is still recovering. Rockets are rolling.
  4. He’s a talent for sure and Denver’s no slouch
  5. I think P’s - Sixers would be a great series, at least 6 games. I don’t know which team would win. Sixers are really talented - I think probably more talented, it’s not just Embid, Simmons is fantastic, etc. But Vic has been fantastic himself and I doubt Sixers can stop him. Still, Turner has been up and down. When Vic isn’t playing or playing well/healthy, P’s tend to lose. I see that as reflective of the P’s true depth of talent and a testament to how well Vic has been playing. but again I don’t really know with that matchup and both of these teams as presently constructed lack real playoff experience, and of course the playoffs are a whole different animal
  6. Not high on the Knicks organization, but that's great news regardless. And a great story, really. Undrafted, shined in the summer league, has clearly continued to work hard on his craft, now a better shooter to go with the athleticism, works very hard on the defensive side of the ball, and he's proved the doubters wrong. And now he's another IU success story.
  7. Brown's a straight up stud. What a player he's becoming.
  8. That's one of the better articles on a player I've read, enjoyable and insightful, thanks for posting it. I remember early on his soph season at IU some were saying he didn't have a killer instinct, and talking about his demeanor. This is such a great reflection of how wrong that kind of judgment can be. He's a serious, quiet killer. He's a tremendous baller who isn't focused, at all, on stats, getting his, or being considered the star of the team. He's a true "student of the game" kind of player, who will kill you defensively and will then surprise you when he either drills the ball over you or explodes by you. I think he can be one of the better players in the League, he's that good. I hope he stays healthy, he'll be fun to watch for years, and is, genuinely, a great "representative" for IU in the NBA.
  9. Troy goes 2-3 for 4 points and +4, in 6 minutes in his first game as a Knick, a win over the Magic. Hopefully he works his way into more time.
  10. Saw that, and he did, from the standpoint that an owner publicly telling his team that it's best that they tank is publicly acknowledging that the fans are not paying to see an actual competitive game, they're watching deliberate losing. But the flip side of that is what about the cause? We all know teams tank, because the model still favors tanking to get a better shot at the draft. Regardless, gotta love Cuban.
  11. Knew he’d land somewhere and soon, but the Knicks... ugh, that is one bad front office. Hopefully it will work out for him though
  12. He tried, but missed. there, if you can’t beat em join em
  13. And Vic missed all 3 first attempts. Jinxed
  14. Lol, he’s 2nd in the NBA in made 3’s and 7th in percentage at 43 percent. Reggie did the contest 5 times and never won. It’s about being hot for the contest, like how Gordon won last year and got 12 this year. But you guys know all this.
  15. Will Vic win the dunk contest during all star weekend? Seems like he has a good shot. Larry Nance, Dennis Smith and Donovan Mitchell
  16. I'm with you here. GRobIII is reportedly getting back to being on track, but teams always look to fill out with athletic wings, and this would be a very low risk proposition for the P's. He's coming off waiver. He's available. He's demonstrated scoring and defense at a pretty high level. He's available because both teams that released him did so for veterans at a time when they believed they needed to bulk up on veteran additions. Personally, I think the Rockets made a poor decision to bring in an aging JJ over Troy, JJ hasn't shown squat in quite a while, and Troy has shown both scoring a D. But again, Troy's a young and still fairly inexperienced player. He'll almost certainly get picked up by someone, and it's a very low risk high reward proposition for that team.
  17. Troy should land somewhere, he’s done a lot to prove himself. Pacers could use him on the wing.
  18. That sucks - but glad it’s not a knee. meanwhile, pretty clear the Cavs are a lot better now, manhandling the C’s in Boston
  19. That's fair, no doubt. It's true that LeBron has been holding Cleveland hostage, but then again with Gilbert, maybe he should. Still, there are those stories about how he brings his guys on the plane, etc. and how Kyrie didn't like that -- his teams are very much about him, and as great a player as he is, and as well as he sees the game, maybe the all-about-LeBron thing is catching up with him. Anyway, will be interesting to see if all these moves (I've never seen a team make this many trade-deadline moves) can work this deep into the season. Some "experts" see Cleveland as the team to beat now in the East, others see Cleveland as a big question mark on chemistry and fit, should make for an interesting next couple of months.
  20. Kyrie wanted out at the beginning of the summer and it had nothing to do with LeBron committing -- he wanted away from LeBron so he could pave his own path. And why do you think LeBron constructed that team? He has been fighting with Gilbert for a while now, including about Gilbert's failure to make good moves -- and then who did Gilbert fire earlier this year, and why, and how did that go over with the players, or for that matter everyone in the NBA? I don't think you're really following the Cavs.
  21. I don't know, Gilbert is an idiot, and he and LeBron have not been on good terms for a bit now, while the Cavs have largely failed to put a good team around LeBron, this year, while he took them and every other team he's played on for multiple years now to the Finals. And yes, he brought the Cavs their championship, which is as much as any Clevelander could ask for. I'm not trying to come off like a big LeBron fan, but he's pretty deserving and Dan Gilbert is a nimrod. Just look at how this season started, the 'front office' moves he makes are moronic.
  22. My bet is the Spurs. He loves Pop, the Spurs were already looking at trading Green today, and a LeBron/Kawhi team will compete.
  23. Yes I can see all of that re IT, and yes, I feel bad for him. He was a stud last season, maybe it's still unclear what the long term outlook is on his injury. Cavs have been trading like crazy today, now they have George Hill and Rodney Hood, while trading Wade (back to Heat), Shumpert, and Crowder (another high level player who is getting shipped around), and Rose (to Utah). Cavs are probably a decent bit better now. Hill (if he stays healthy) adds both very good D to go with excellent outside shooting, and another ball handler, and Hood can score. So looks like LeBron holding the Cavs' organization to the fire forced them to get better, fwiw. Whether it's good enough, I don't know. That's a lot of change to accommodate at this point in the season, but the Cavs were really struggling, obviously, and especially on D.
  24. Not Hoosiers-related, but wow, Cavs just dealt I Thomas (and Channing Frye) to the Lakers. For Nance and Clarkson. Thomas has gone from leading the C's to the East Finals and being one of the most prolific scorers in the League to getting tossed out by the Cavs while being mid-way through getting his legs back under him.
  25. I didn't know, thanks for posting that. This season's injuries are crazy. All kinds of players, and especially top flight players, getting serious injuries. Something in the water??
