  1. The "stand in the corner" role is pretty much what every single NBA team does on most plays. You're hoping that someone with the ball actually moves it via passing or penetrating.
  2. Drew Adams recruited Hickman to Bradley and is now at Cincy. Interesting turn of events. None of this is going to be set in stone in my mind until you get these guys in school etc.
  3. Already starting to see it happen. Howland.
  4. Seems like most info is coming from Rabby from what I am gathering. I can't speak for @DC2345 But some of this stuff I see people quoting Rabby.
  5. Some of the biggest "misses" have been Indiana kids, both who we've passed on and who we've recruited. But don't get tunnel vision. You can't just take an Indiana kid to appease people. It's not where their from but the "Indiana" intangibles that matter.
  6. But I think roster construction has a lot to do with recruiting. And the recruitment of guards is what I am referring to. We've had plenty of talented big men. If we would've hit on as many guards as we did big men, we would have won a lot more. There have been quite of few reaches as far as the group is concerned. I like what we're trying to do in the portal and if we land who we're hearing, we're going to see improvement and quickly.
  7. I agree, but that was kinda of my point. Most guys that struggle here, struggle elsewhere; they are/were not very good.
  8. For past several years, the number one issue has been recruiting. This issue has exacerbated any insufficiencies/deficiencies in coaching and/or scheme. We have not done a good job with scouting/player evaluation. This lines up with IU simply not having an overall program/team identity, at least from the outside looking in.
  9. The shot across the bow and the end of the road for me last season was when a player from OSU said we were a good/bowl team. And then we did what we did. We've had the talent outside of the injury wrecked season(s), we didn't have much else going on. I am glad we've seemingly finally got a guy who will if nothing else give us an identity.
  10. It was a joke. I was thinking about this guy yesterday. Very odd situation.
  11. I agree with this too. But it seems like his system should benefit both the offense and defense based on what I know (not a lot but what I've read and watched).
  12. Not at all. I am ok with coaches calling out guys or the team etc. CTA did a little too much ass kissing of the better players. I am not saying you have to degrade players etc, but there seemed to be a bit of entitlement because of a couple of decent seasons.
  13. Anyone know when Austin Van Zyl's visit is? 😁 This is a joke btw
  14. It will be interesting to see how many people bolt after the spring game.
  15. Because our guards aren't good enough or are afraid. Afraid of what? I have no idea.
  16. I do have to laugh a bit though. When we've run the "weave" or whatever you want to call it at the top of the key, everyone complains about it. UConn ran that set quite a few times in the second half. I believe Archie ran that offense more so than Woody though. IU needs athletic guards. However, if you ask me, it wasn't necessarily UConn's "modern offense" that beat PU it was their speed and athletic ability on defense that shut PU down. PU's guards were dominated defensively.
  17. Half my friends went to PU. I still didn't want them to win. I could have acted like I was happy for them, but inside I'd be still pissed IU hasn't sniffed it in 22 years.
  18. You did see their fans were chanting f*uck IU right? I'll forget it when they do which will be never.
  19. Elijah Malone (Grace, NAIA POY) to visit Notre Dame on 4/14 and IU on 4/18.
