  1. Not to make light of your sentiment, but how much marijuana this team does is hilarious old man talk. For that, kudos to you! But I agree, the team should not do so much weed But that's easier said than done. Weed is just not stigmatized like it used to be. Most states it's legal in some shape or form. But I do understand some of these guys are underage, it's against school and team rules, and in the state of Indiana, illegal. But weed rules/laws (separate from curfew/ sneaking out) are pretty hypocritical (based on outdated morality) and should be revisited or at least adjusted to parallel rules that prohibit drinking. I doubt they are giving these guys breathalyzer tests. That being said, you don't want members of your team high or drunk all the time, becoming bad influences, or simply bad teammates. Both booze and weed have their time and place(for most), but it's obvious certain members of the team seem to lack the maturity and decision making ability to decide when that time and place is. Not to mention bringing bad attention to themselves, the team, the school, and the new coaching staff. But let's see how these guys respond. If they don't, I trust they'll be gone, just like Woody said. https://comb.io/t2ZLug

  3. Pretty sure he was "suspended" previously, so he's in the dog house too. The players have to start caring as much as the fans.
  4. TJD hasn't played well in a while. No matter who's playing, whatever's going on with him, he better figure it out quickly.
  5. Seems like a good hire to me. That's a lot of experience.

  9. He was here for a year and they went 2-10. Not dismissing him, I am as bummed as anyone, but let the season play out before we start jumping off the rooftops. Everyone is dramatic these days. It’s not like he’s leaving to go to PUke. ND is a big deal. Sorry fans, that’s a better job, and apparently he’s no different than most in coaching, he'll take a better job. From what I've read, he wanted the ND job previously and was actually the second choice this time, I believe former Bears RB coach was their first choice. Once Pitre decided to stay in the NFL, DM was their guy. If the Hiller rumor is proven true, then CTA will look foolish. But I don’t buy it. https://footballscoop.com/news/notre-dame-hiring-former-nfl-chiefs-assistant-deland-mccullough https://irishsportsdaily.com/s/16898/potential-notre-dame-running-back-coach-candidates
  10. Let’s not get dramatic. Let’s see how this season plays out. If they win two games, you can get dramatic. This blows but if DM didn’t have his sons, nobody would really care too much about this. It’s an odd situation and hurts the recruiting class rankings.
  11. It's definitely a house of cards with very little margin. Look at the OSU game, complete sellout to start the game, a few thousand fans at the end. I am not down on the program or CTA, but he's never been the man in charge of a P5 conference program. At a consistently good program, you have to have a backup plan for your backup plan. At IU, you need backup plans x4. IU is going to lose talent on and off the field, but you have to minimize the damage as best you can. If you can't, the ship can go down pretty quickly. But that being said, I think last year was an outlier. I expect us to to bounce back and compete for bowl eligibility and when it's all said and done, that's what I care about. The rest is icing on the cake.
  12. Why is that though? And are you saying Deland's interest in ND is not based on internal conflict? If not, why is he interviewing after uprooting his entire family to come back to IU? Something is odd about this whole situation. I understand Notre Dame is more prestigious, but so was the NFL.
  13. I think Tom Allen is the perfect type of coach for IU, I really do. But you have to be objective about the performance of your guys and the state of the program. If you cannot make the tough decisions, then you can't be the head coach. Another responsibility is listening to your coaches, players, and others who might see things a bit differently. This would be a bad look for CTA if true. If he's willing to sink himself and the program over one guy, then this program has some serious problems. I have questioned his decision to play his son after multiple injuries. I don't believe his talent is better than the guys listed behind him. So I hope these rumors are not true.
  14. So is he interviewing with them? And if so, why?
  15. I would assume just $$. But I agree, does seems weird. But ND guys are like, "why wouldn't he leave...?" My question is the same as yours, I am sure he could have gone anywhere.
  16. Reading some ND boards, one says he's not coming, another said he's interviewing this week.
  17. Wow, that would be big blow. College football is pretty wild when it comes to coaches coming and going.
  18. He had a calf injury, which is related to this. So it's not surprising. Glad it's nothing worse. Cliff's gotta stretch these guys out better
