  1. I wasn’t talking about you or anyone here, nor did I take offense to your question. Point is, people tend to start negative rumors without any real information.
  2. They believe any bs they read and then post the bs ad nausem somehow thinking the more they post it the more it's true all while knowing (and hoping) it will spark argument, dissent, and attention.
  3. The same guys are on multiple boards and repeat the same stuff. How or why would they know if Fife was unhappy? He's been there for less than a year. Some IU fans have a QAnon troll type personality, stirring up the pot with conspiracies. It's a good way to get attention. He seems very engaged to me.
  4. I hope this is a "signature" win to get the program some positive momentum. This team doesn't quit and deserved a win like today. I have been pleading (internally) with Woody to play Geronimo (and Bates) more. You have to let young guys play through mistakes and you have to bench upperclassmen under performing.
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Henry_(American_football) I don't think anyone can complain about this hire. This is a better coach than what we had.
  6. I assume Hiller will be blamed for this too?
  7. I actually removed the last sentence because it was out of context and may have muddled my overall point. I am just tired of everyone assuming the worse conclusion possible anytime an assistant leaves. To me, this most recent move seems to be more an indictment on Heard than Allen. He's put Allen in a tough spot. And somewhat off-topic, the vitriol Hiller gets when another assistant leaves is over the top. Not saying he's great or even good, but people act like they win or lose because of one position coach. Can he be impactful or a detriment, of course. But the last time I checked IU has more OL in the NFL than any other position. I understand the offensive line has been weak, but so has the play calling. You don't have to have the best offensive line (or offensive line coach) to win.
  8. Just another rumor: Here's the thing with any defection, IU fans on social media will ALWAYS take the negative route. These guys had worked together for a while, so it is odd, but it might be as simple as "I want to move to Florida". College football is a super transient profession. Assistants that stay the longest have roots in the community or are at schools with a history of success. If you're running the IU football program, you should expect to lose a few assistants EVERY year. For good reasons (promotion), practical reasons (change of scenario, better program, better weather), for bad reasons (the coach or team underperformed). I am not saying losing guys is a good thing, but at a historically poor program like IU, that's just the way it goes. A couple of decent seasons isn't going to make working at IU the pinnacle of anything. I have zero clue if CTA knows what he's doing or not, but neither do these so called insiders who are speculating based on gossip. I'm sure if you were to "score" "insiders" gossip 90%+ would be some sort of negative gossip, it's the nature of forums and social media. Besides recruits possibly choosing a school, when do ever hear good rumors like "all the assistant coaches love coach and think everything he is doing is great..."
  9. Prediction: Da Hoosiers 79 - rutgers zip
  10. If you don't focus on the negative aspect of everything how will you get better? 👀 Fans don't have to focus on all the negatives for the team to get better, that's the coaches job. And I know this might be hard to believe, but sometimes it's ok for fans to acknowledge some positives or enjoy a win And if you don't think Woody has talked to Knight, then I don't what to tell you. And what fans are content with the past few seasons or losses? Being ok with a win doesn't mean you are content with the overall season or a loss. But sometimes it is ok to see some light in the darkness, I promise the team won't know (don't want our "praise" going to anybody's head) and you won't spontaneously combust (I don't think).
  11. I hope Race comes back. The team just needs to play loose, move the ball, and take the open shot. They play so much better when it's not a one man game. Although I am not a huge fan of never changing the starting lineup, when Kopp and Stewart make shots we normally win. Woody needs to call plays early for both to get them going. The place better be rocking.
  12. What did Kopp do and he played the entire game. He should play about 15 minutes a game. Stewart did his punishment just like all other players. Woody starts him, not me. But if you were to bench one of the two? Easy decision. I personally would bench both and I've said this to my buddies for a while. Woody is old school, but he needs to bench guys who are not contributing. This play the upperclassmen stuff is not necessarily the best lineup to win.
  13. I don't like Kopp missing every open shot and getting torched on d. I'll let the coaches decide who's attitude is good or bad. If his attitude was as bad as people's TV perception , I doubt Woody would be starting him. At least he makes some shots when given some space or play call.

  15. So these guys broke curfew/snuck out. People always assume it's weed, but they probably went to a party or meetup with some friends etc. Lots of ladies and IUBB connections in Chicago.
  16. So you're equating drinking and driving (by the coach's grandson to boot) to going three miles an hour over the speed limit, breaking curfew, or smoking weed? Whatever fits your narrative I guess. All programs have had some issues. In case you've forgotten Duke paid Zion just a couple of years ago. But in NCAA, Duke, UNC, and couple of other programs don't go down because of their brand and head coaches. Regardless, there were a lot of players during Knight's years who should/could have been kicked off the team but were not for the obvious reason, they were good.
  17. Not to make light of your sentiment, but how much marijuana this team does is hilarious old man talk. For that, kudos to you! But I agree, the team should not do so much weed But that's easier said than done. Weed is just not stigmatized like it used to be. Most states it's legal in some shape or form. But I do understand some of these guys are underage, it's against school and team rules, and in the state of Indiana, illegal. But weed rules/laws (separate from curfew/ sneaking out) are pretty hypocritical (based on outdated morality) and should be revisited or at least adjusted to parallel rules that prohibit drinking. I doubt they are giving these guys breathalyzer tests. That being said, you don't want members of your team high or drunk all the time, becoming bad influences, or simply bad teammates. Both booze and weed have their time and place(for most), but it's obvious certain members of the team seem to lack the maturity and decision making ability to decide when that time and place is. Not to mention bringing bad attention to themselves, the team, the school, and the new coaching staff. But let's see how these guys respond. If they don't, I trust they'll be gone, just like Woody said. https://comb.io/t2ZLug

  19. Pretty sure he was "suspended" previously, so he's in the dog house too. The players have to start caring as much as the fans.
